Port Vila, Vanuatu - 10th February 2006
By: Kat
On my birthday, I got to go for my first trip overseas!! My hosts took me along on their trip to Vanuatu. It was so relaxing, I spent the whole week in bed whilst my hosts explored Port Vila and the surrounding area. I can't wait to go travelling again... though next time I'll be a little more adventurous and go exploring with K

San Francisco, USA - 4th August 2006
By: Kat
One of K's friends from America is getting married in Chicago and K is going to catch up with some other friends in San Francisco along the way. I've never been to the US so I'm going to tag along. We went on a big plane (and Euca the koala came along too) - it took a loooooooong time to get there and boy was I tired when we arrived.
Whilst in San Francisco, we partied with our friends, visited the Japanese Gardens, went up to Twin Peaks to check out the view, cruised through The Castro and had a clam chowder at Fisherman's Wharf. There were a lot of hills in San Francisco and I got tired walking up and down them all plus I'm a shy little wombat and there were so many people around so K carried me home in her bag.

London, United Kingdom - 13th March 2007
By: Kat
Today, my minder K moved to London. Packing took a long time and the flight there was just as long as the one to the US but we made it there in the end. I was so tired that I slept for a week and then after that, we were off to Europe!

Ljubljana, Slovenia - 18th March 2007
By: Kat
Unfortunately, I was too busy to have my photo taken much but boy, did I see a lot! I got to check out the Dragon Bridge in Ljubljana, Slovenia and the castle in Bled (which is also in Slovenia). I saw the oldest producing grape vine in the world in Maribor and visited a monastery south of Novo Mesto. The caves in Postojna were amazing though they made me feel very small. Gibanica was definitely my favourite food in Slovenia - it's sooooooo yummy.

Trieste, Italy - 26th March 2007
By: Kat
After Slovenia, we headed to Trieste in Italy, where we had fresh seafood pasta and visited a 15th century castle in nearby Miramare. The castle was amazing perched up on the clifftops and I definitely recommend seeing it. After Trieste, we went to Venice. The streets were very narrrow and we got lost a couple of times. Unfortunately, I didn't get to ride in a gondola but there's always next time! I did get to see the glassblowers in Murano - it was amazing what they could create with glass!

Nice, France - 31st March 2007
By: Kat
After Venice, we moved on to Nice - the waterfront was absolutely beautiful. We didn't stay there for long before we moved on to Lyon. I liked Lyon though we only had half a day there. I wanted to see the puppets but we didn't have enough time. We did see the Notre Dame du Four Vierre, which was beautiful.

Paris, France - 4th April 2007
By: Kat
From Lyon, we went to Paris. We had a very busy couple of days there and my feet were very sore by the end. We saw the Church of the Sacred Heart, the Catacombs, the Arc de Triomphe, the Louvre, Notre Dame and of course, the Eiffel Tower. We stayed at the Eiffel Tower until the sun set. It was very pretty though we were cold, as we forgot to bring our scarves and jackets. I liked it when they made the lights flash and sparkle.
