Prague, Czech Republic - 30th January 2008

By: Chris & David

Today we spent the day wandering around again. We started off by exploring the Nove Mesto (the New Town). New is a relative term and I was delighted to find lots of Art Nouveau architecture.
Our first port of call was Wenceslas Square where I saw the memorial to Jan Palac and the statue of Wenceslas himself. The light was all wrong for good photos but Chris & David tried.
I visited the Hotel Europa and admired the decor and tucked in to coffee and cake in the cafe.
Our wanderings then took us to the Municipal House which is a riot of Art Nouveau sculpture, stained glass, lighting and tiles. I loved it. A glass of wine went down well in the fascinating Ameriky Bar. In the evening we returned here for a concert in the fantastic Smetana Hall and I listened to works by Pachebal, Mozart and Vivaldi.

Prague, Czech Republic - 31st January 2008

By: Chris & David

Today was a rush.
David and Chris had spent loads of money yesterday on a Bohemian crystal chandelier so we had to go into the Old Town to collect it. We went by tram to save our feet but the shop hadn't finished the packing so we had another brief wander and I looked at the astronomical clock in the Old Town Square.
It was really sad that we were going home because the sun had come out and the world looked totally different.
The walk back to the hotel was more of a jog because we were late and David said a lot of rude words about how heavy the parcel was. We made it back before the taxi arrived and then I sat in the airport watching the planes until it was time for our flight.

Brampton, UK - 10th February 2008

By: Chris & David

I am going to the Falkland Islands at the end of the month with C & D's daughter in law Sam so we have come to her home in Cambridgeshire to make sure Chris learns everything she needs to know for babysitting her grandson Jake while Sam & I are away.

The weather was really nice and Jake & the other children in the street played outside and had a picnic. I joined them and I had a ride in Jake's new gocart

Great Malvern, uk - 11th February 2008

By: Chris & David

David is a candidate in an election for the Council of the firm he works for. Because lots of his friends recognise me I thought I would help him campaign. In case you're wondering, Gandalf is David's nickname.

Port Stanley, Falkland Islands - 22nd February 2008

By: Chris & David

Well here we are in the Falklands after an eighteen hour flight. I didn't realise how boring the inside of a plane could become. We were met by Sam's husband Adrian (or Hamish as he is known in the RAF) but I was very tired and all I wanted to do was sleep.

Bertha's Beach, Falkland Islands - 23rd February 2008

By: Chris & David

I felt a lot better after a sleep which was a good thing because today Sam & Adrian helped me achieve another of my ambitions and it involved a three mile walk each way to Bertha's Beach. It was worth it because I saw penguins in the wild.
There were loads of them and it was really exciting to see them. The only trouble was that they were in the middle of a minefield!
Sid was pleased as well because seeing penguins was one of his ambitions too.
I'll get the photos in as soon as I can.

Dover, Uk - 19th March 2008

By: Chris & David

David has got a big birthday coming up next month when he becomes officially old so we are heading off to France for the day to buy the party drinks. We are going with David's number 2 son Stewart who has got an even longer journey than us because he has to drive down from Bradford in Yorkshire.
We collected his friend Stu from Abingdon on the way down and met up with Stewart in the docks at Dover.
Here I am waiting for the ferry. B)

Calais, France - 19th March 2008

By: Chris & David

It was a nice calm crossing and we got to Calais and made our way off the ship. The traffic was busy on the French motorway but we soon got to the wine warehouse where David's order was ready and waiting.
I had the job of checking it all out! :p

Great Malvern, uk - 19th March 2008

By: Chris & David

We got back to Malvern in the middle of the night and crawled into bed. It seemed I had only been asleep for seconds before it was time to get up and go to David's place of work. I was then collected by David's friend Kerry to head straight off on another adventure.

South Ari Atol, Maldives - 20th April 2008

By: Chris & David

I'm really excited because today I'm going with Davids son Richard and his partner Jackie to the Maldives - Sun, Sand and Cocktails.  B)
Didn't waste any time putting on the shades and getting on the sun lounger to top up my tan on our balcony looking out over the coral lagoon and beach, prefered this to the beach as the sand really gets between my feathers.  :o
One afternoon I thought I'd pulled when a rather attractive bird dropped in, though I think she was only interested in my body.  ;)
The food was great although had a close call when one of the chef's thought I was part of the A la carte. :stare:
The evenings kicked off with cocktails in the bar, however I discovered that I was out of practice and three was my limit. :p
And the only thing I woke up with was a hangover.

Great Malvern, uk - 29th April 2008

By: Chris & David

David collected me from his son's house and rushed me back to Great Malvern. I hardly had time to draw breath and rinse of the sun-cream before he was taking me up to Waitrose where he works. There he introduced me to his friend Linda who is taking me away again.
It's a hard life being a voyager! B)
