Road trip

I have over hundred photos from today, my host got a little carried away  I will upload them little by little...

We made a trip to countryside where the grandparents live.
Our first stop was on a lovely country road. Next to the road runs a small river and over the road is a beautiful bridge.

The birds were singing everywhere, I could hear them clearly. But where were they? I was looking for them but could not see.

Petäjävesi Old Church

Our next stop was The Petäjävesi Old Church http://www.petajavesi.fi/kirkko/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=4&Itemid=3&lang=en :  it is an UNESCO WHS. I can tell you it is a pretty little church!

Thousand lakes

There are 187,888 lakes in Finland larger than 5 ares (500 square meters). Today I have seen ten ... or twenty... of them  Here are some pictures of me and the lakes. (Next to the Petäjävesi Old Church was one lake, too.    )

The most beautiful mailbox location

On the way I have seen the most beautiful mailbox location. Mom, imagine that all the cards you get are sent from here

At grandparents

There is a tiny road leading to the grandparents´house and a rooster on top of a storehouse.

Inside the storehouses I have found for example fishing nets and old bicycles. Somehow I´m not surprised at all!

In the house I met some toys that have belonged to my host when she was a kid. Very friendly toys!!! We posed in front of the pictures of my host´s ancestors. They look so serious. I think the photographer forgot to say: "SMILE!" 

I was very interested to see everything in the surroundings. Here are some photos from the farmyard: ants and birds are living here as next door neighbors.

Grandparents live by the lake. We walked to the shore and checked the boat. Pictures of the lake you have already seen

The old barn

The old barn has been empty already for 35 years. I still could feel the spirit of the cows who have lived in it. And they have had a nice view

Forest work, trees and stones

On my walk I saw many different trees and also some forest work. I was sitting on the stones that used to be my host´s playground. Look at these pictures and enjoy. I did!

Flowers and butterflies

My host ( in the first picture) showed me also some flowers and butterflies. And sometimes I just relaxed and took it easy

Dance!

Today I went to see ballet and all kind of other dances (street dance, voguing,  African, modern dance...) in the City Theater. Pictures were not allowed to be taken. But believe me: I enjoyed!

At home my host's daughter danced some more and we took some pictures. She was also dancing ballet on the stage!!!

Do you think I could get my own ballet slippers?

Working day

Today I cycled to work with my host. As you can see in the photos, I was working hard! Can you imagine: this is what my host does every day and even gets payed from it. Mom, I would like to have a job like this!!!

We were painting the flowers for concert decoration. Together with the kids I was playing in the sand and I also helped them to paint their portraits. I really enjoyed my working day!!!

One day at home...

Today was a free day from work because of Ascension Day. My host was doing some voluntary work and I stayed at home. I wanted to watch a film and I'm telling you: there was a large collection to select from! I found my favorite easily: Home on the Range. A cow movie 

I found some colorful yarn in a basket and wanted to knit...

Theater and restaurant

You can not believe this: Today I went to the theater! We saw a wonderful play by Astrid Lindgren: The Brothers Lionheart http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Brothers_Lionheart It was amazing!!!

After theater we were hungry and decided to eat in a Nepali reestaurant.  http://www.nagarkot.fi/ So yammy!!!

Just a little walk

We walked a little near the center and I saw for example one beautiful building of the University (yellow) and the oldest building in Jyväskylä (red), flowers in the green forest and an egg shell
