SNOW SNOW SNOW whooohoooo  :cyclops:

Hey Mummy,

when I opened my eyes this morning the whole world was totally white! Me and Mr. Furrington jumped out of the bed and went outside. The snow looks interesting. And it is really cold!!! I think I froze my ass off! But I really enjoyed the time outside!
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/rimg0169.jpg
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/rimg0154.jpg

I had a walk around the village again.
Here you can see me in the tiny park with the tiny church.
Look, everything is white!
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/rimg0158i.jpg
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/rimg0155j.jpg
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/rimg0159w.jpg

Also the streets are white! I wonder how the cars can drive on it!
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/rimg0167u.jpg
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/rimg0168.jpg

I think I know how a snow covered tree feels like.
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/rimg0164k.jpg

When we were back inside the house we jumped on the heating. It felt so good!
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/rimg0170.jpg

Both of us were really hungry from our adventure in the snow, so we decided to cook something.
First we put some meat into the pan.
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/rimg0171.jpg
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/rimg0172.jpg

Then we read the instructions for "Chili con carne".
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/rimg0174.jpg

Ouh, we also needed some kidney beans!
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/rimg0175.jpg

We added everything into the pan.
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/rimg0176p.jpg

Our host's Mom cooked some spaghettis. Doesn't it look delicious?
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/rimg0178j.jpg

I think I ate too much. I'll take a nap for a few hours...

Love you, Mummy!

Another funny day in the snow!
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/rimg0187.jpg

Some animals left their marks in the snow. We tried to find out, what kind of animals... The first ones could be a fox or marten. Or maybe a wild cat! Who knows?!
The other marks looked like birds. Lots of birds!!!  :D
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/rimg0182.jpg
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/rimg0183u.jpg
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/rimg0184z.jpg

Today the weather was perfect for going sledding. It was fun!  :cyclops:
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/rimg0188t.jpg
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/rimg0191.jpg

We also built an igloo. Mr. Furrington caved a hole into the snow, but I think it was too small for me.  :stare:

Hello Mommy,

there's still snow around...
Today we did another walk through the small village.

Here you can see me at the Walther-Rathenau-Square. If I would walk to the end of the street, I would reach the old power station. Maybe I've some time to visit it in the upcoming weeks.
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/rimg0202h.jpg

We went into a store where they offer the post office, stationery, lottery and gifts. We had to wait a while, so we had time to take a picture.
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/rimg0205p.jpg

This building is called "Platanenhof". It was built in the 90th and when it was about 2 years old, it startet to collapse. There are tiny breaks at some walls.
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/rimg0206.jpg

Look at this beautiful sky!
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/rimg0209.jpg

This is the new fire department.
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/rimg0213.jpg

This is the old clubhouse. It was a famous building in the 70th and 80th, but now it looks more like a ruin.
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/rimg0212.jpg

All these buildings were renewed in the year 1999. All are yellow with red roofs.
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/rimg0215.jpg

This is the old secondary school. My host's Mom worked there until they moved to another village few years ago. Now the elementary school is housed.
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/rimg0217o.jpg

Can you see the white building behind us? This is the old elementary school before they moved to the other building.
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/rimg0220.jpg

I had to walk to the end of the street. Really long way for a tiny toyvoyager!
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/rimg0219v.jpg

Do you remember this building? I've been here a few days ago! It's the tiny catholic church.
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/rimg0222.jpg

And have a look what temperature we have!!! Do you think it is cold? :cyclops:
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/rimg0224u.jpg

We are going back to Berlin the upcoming week!  :)

Yours,
Crawfish

Hello Mom,

as I told you before we went out in the afternoon to have some fun in the snow!
First we built a snowman. It wasn't easy. The snow is not perfect for making snowmen!
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/rimg0268m.jpg
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/rimg0269.jpg
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/rimg0270v.jpg

Then we saw that big hill! We decided to go sledding. It was so much fun last time.
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/rimg0271.jpg

I tried to sled backwards.
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/rimg0273.jpg

Then Mr. Furrington wanted me to nudge him.
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/rimg0274.jpg

I sledded directly behind him on my butt. It also worked!
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/rimg0275.jpg
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/rimg0277.jpg

While Mr. Furrington was too fast, he fall off of the sleigh and I fall on him. Happily nobody broke a bone!
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/rimg0278.jpg

Later we found some icicles. It's nice enjoying the sun and licking an icicle.
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/rimg0280.jpg
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/rimg0283.jpg

When we went home, Mr. Furrington wanted to sled again. He fall off the sleigh very badly so he could sit on the sleigh while I moved it back home.
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/rimg0348.jpg
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/rimg0349.jpg

You'll hear from me soon!

Love,
Craw-brrrr-fi-brrr-sh

Berlin, Germany - 5th February 2012

By: MA_17

Hello Mom,

today we went to work with our host. She's working in a hotel near the famous Kurfürstendamm.

First we charged some credit cards. I think Mr. Furrington charged a little bit too much!
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/IMG_5020.jpg

We also had some fun with all the paper clips.
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/IMG_5025.jpg

Mr. Furrington and I marked all places on a map where we have been.
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/IMG_5022.jpg

I showed him where I've been and met some of my relatives.
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/IMG_5023.jpg

We both got a keycard for our own room!
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/IMG_5021.jpg

I wanted to call you, Mom, but you didn't answer. I'm sure I used the correct number.
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/IMG_5031.jpg

So we called the pizza service and ordered something to eat. Hmmm delicious!
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/IMG_5024.jpg
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/IMG_5033.jpg

Berlin, Germany - 7th February 2012

By: MA_17

Hei Mom,

today I've been to the Central Station. Do you remember, Mom? I've been here on New Year's Eve! It is the main railway station in Berlin. 1,800 trains call at the station per day and the daily number of passengers is estimated to be at 350,000!
From here you can do non-stop travels to Amsterdam (the Netherlands), Novosibirsk (Russia) or Astana (Kazakhstan).
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/rimg0390-1.jpg
As you can see, there are many shops inside.
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/rimg0392-1.jpg

I've also been to the river Spree again. I've been here few weeks ago. Now there's no river. Just ice, ice and more ice! You can nearly walk on it! But I'm from California, I think it's a little bit tooooooo cold for me.  B)
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/rimg0384-1.jpg
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/rimg0385z-1.jpg

Tomorrow we are planning to go to another famous place in Berlin. :p

Love, Crawfreezingfish

Berlin, Germany - 8th February 2012

By: MA_17

Hey Mom,

once again another update.  :)

Today I've been to Alexanderplatz. Berliners often call it simply Alex. It is a large public square and transport hub in the central Mitte district of Berlin, near the tv tower. In the center of the square there's the much-graffitied "Fountain of Friendship between Peoples" (Brunnen der Völkerfreundschaft).
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/RIMG0394.jpg

On one side of the Alex you can find the "Worldtime Clock". It is a clock which displays the time for various cities around the world.
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/RIMG0400.jpg

Next to the Alex there's the famous tv tower "Fernsehturm". It was constructed between 1965 and 1969 and with its height of 368 meters, it is the tallest structure in Germany. There is a visitor platform and a revolving restaurant in the middle of the sphere. The tower is part of the World Federation of Great Towers (WFGT).
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/RIMG0398.jpg

Then I went to an "East Germany store". When Germany was devided into West and East, it was not possible to travel a lot. So relatives sent packages from one country to the other. This store still offers German product which can't be found anywhere else.
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/RIMG0396.jpg

Here you can see something we bought as a gift for a friend of our host. That red chicken is a typical eggcup. The red beaker is a toothbrush tumbler for journeys. When you are travelling you put it in your bag and it looks like the mirror.  ;)
And also some sweets: Lutherbrot (bread of Luther).
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/RIMG0402.jpg

That's all for today.

Yours Crawfish

Berlin, Germany - 9th February 2012

By: MA_17

Did I told you that there is the Berlinale (Berlin International Film Festival) at the moment here in Berlin?! The Berlinale is one of the world's leading film festivals and most reputable media events. With 274,000 tickets sold and 487,000 admissions it is considered the largest publicly-attended film festival worldwide. Up to 400 films are shown in several sections, representing a comprehensive array of the cinematic world. Around twenty films compete for the awards called the Golden and Silver Bears.
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/RIMG0405.jpg

We saw a camera crew. I'm sure they were searching for us, but me and Mr. Furrington are really shy!
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/RIMG0403.jpg

Exciting!

Berlin, Germany - 12th February 2012

Hey Mommy,

here are some more updates of the Berlinale. Today I went to Potsdamer Square again. First I show you some of the buildings around here.
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/RIMG0423.jpg
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/RIMG0487.jpg
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/RIMG0486.jpg

This is Sony Center, also a part of Potsdamer Square.
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/RIMG0478.jpg
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/RIMG0482.jpg

The roof looks really interesting!
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/RIMG0481.jpg

This is the theater of Potsdamer Square. Normally there's a musical inside, but at the moment it is the main place for the Berlinale Festival. There's a red carpet in front of the building!
So many people are waiting to see any famous people (I heard Brangelina and Meryl Streep are here, too!)
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/RIMG0440.jpg
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/RIMG0551.jpg

This is the bear of the Berlinale. It looks the same every year.

Berlin, Germany - 14th February 2012

By: MA_17

Hello Mommy,

today we did another tour. It is not as cold as it has been last week, but now it is really wet!

First we went to the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, also known as the Holocaust Memorial. It is a memorial to the Jewish victims of the Holocaust. It consists of a 19,000 square metres site covered with 2,711 concrete slabs or "stelae", arranged in a grid pattern on a sloping field. The stelae are 2.38 m long, 0.95 m wide and vary in height from 0.2 to 4.8 m.
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/RIMG0549-1.jpg

Once again I stopped at Potsdamer Square. Did you know that Meryl Streep will be here tonight? And Robert Pattinson will be here on weekend!
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/RIMG0552.jpg

I also went to the river Spree again. There is not as much ice on it as it was last week.
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/RIMG0592.jpg
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/RIMG0596.jpg

And I stopped at Checkpoint Charlie. It was the name given by the Western Allies to the best-known Berlin Wall crossing point between East Berlin and West Berlin during the Cold War.
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/RIMG0598.jpg

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Today our host told us to eat some fruits because of all the vitamins! So we did!
First we peeled an orange.
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/RIMG0607.jpg
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/RIMG0608.jpg

Then we also needed a banana and some kiwis.
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/RIMG0609.jpg

We cut the kiwis into slices.
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/RIMG0610.jpg

Everything had to be on a plate. And we also used some chocolate. :cyclops:
Hmmm, looks tasty, doesn't it?  B) And it feels a little bit like holidays.  :p

Dessau, Germany - 20th February 2012

By: MA_17

Hey Mom,

today I did a walk to the river Mulde. It is a left tributary of the Elbe and 124 km in length. I stopped at the river just 3km south of the place where it flows into the river Elbe. Near the river is a big area called "Tiergarten". Every year this area is flooded. There's still some water left as you can see, it's just frozen.
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/RIMG0617.jpg
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/RIMG0628.jpg
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/RIMG0627.jpg
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/RIMG0625.jpg

I was told that there are lots of Chinese mitten crabs trying to climb up the wall next to me and fall down into the water after a few centimeters. Stupid crabs! I couldn't see any, maybe it was too cold for them.
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/RIMG0618.jpg

Behind me you can also see the town hall on the right (white tower), the Marienkirche with its red roof and behind the trees you can also see the small tower of the castle.
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/RIMG0626.jpg

In the evening I met a cat called Alexis. She is a nice girl!
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m49/ma_17/Toyvoyager/RIMG0633.jpg

Love,
