Bayreuth, Germany - 3rd May 2012

By: Yosemite

Hey Mummy!

Today *-Cookie-* , hostmum and me made a trip to Bayreuth. At first the weather was not to good, so we didn´t take any pictures. But then sun came out!
We visited the opera house which was built in the middle of the 18th century. It is in baroque and the interieur is very luxurious. In Bayreuth the margravine Wilhelmine advanced the culture so that there is still a cultural heritage today. The opera house is nominated to be a UNESCO world heritage!

I found a pretty little park with a lot of colourful spring flowers! There we made a rest on a bench. B)

But that´s not all! The most famous event in Bayreuth are the "Wagner Festspiele", the Wagner festival. Richard Wagner is a very, very famous german composer who built a opera house only for his operas in the end of the 19th century. Every year several V.I.P.s come to Bayreuth to enjoy his music.
We didn´t go to the festival hall but we found a souvenir with a nice picture on it  :D

Last but not least we saw some funny artwork. Men climbing at a house, very funny  :D

Yours, Wavy

Lichtenfels, Bavaria, Germany - 7th May 2012

By: Yosemite

Hello, Mum!

On saturday a parcel arrived. I saw the stamp of the US postal service on it and wondered what it should be. Wooooooooooow, inside was Cheerio a really pretty duck from San Fransisco! Do you remember her? She was with you last year!

Together we looked at some photos of her trip to Sacramento, my hometown. Great to hear a familiar slang and to have a compatriot here!

Sonneberg, Dolls and Teddy-Festival, Germany - 19th May 2012

By: Yosemite

Hello, Mummy!

No, hostmum hasn´t forgotten my birthday on Tuesday. She promised me that I will accompany her to a special event. And it was a very special event!

We were at the Dolls and Teddy-Festival in Sonneberg, not far away from Lichtenfels. In Sonneberg were many toy factories and therefor the city is called "Toy City".

In the fair there were so much hand built bears, I met some cousins of mine  ;) And accessoires in my size, too! Hostmum asked if I want the pretty hat, but no, it is a little to female

In another hall a bears band played good rock  B)

I took part of the bears school, Wolley was the teacher. We listened to his interesting stories about Africa!

We found a booth with handbags. We chose two for our girls at home. Hope I chose the right colour

The coolest bears I´ve ever seen were the knights in the old castle. They sat together as like around the Round table of the Arthurian Legend.

In the last hall we saw the bears at the contest. So much pretty bears! My favourite: the one with the lady bugs  :D

What a interesting afternoon!

Thanks for this present, hostmum!

Hello to California!

Today we did something great for American boys! We made a barbecue!

We had so much plushie guests, friends of our hosts visited us and brought their plushies along  ;)

At first Khaled and me prepared a very healthy salad with very healthy ingredients. We made a dressing og vinegar, mustard, salt, pepper, herbs and olive oil. This sauce was mixed with a salad of tomatoes, bell peppers, corn, onions, cheese and bacon.

And then we had roasted spareribs. Soooooooooooooo yummie!

What a great evening!

Bamberg, Bavarian Garden Exhibition, Germany - 28th May 2012

By: Yosemite

Hey Mummy!

Today we made a trip tp the Bavarian Garden Exhibition in Bamberg. Günther, *Paul*, Cheerio and me accompanied our hosts.
Because the exhibition is so big we travelled in hostmums backpack.

There were so many plants, I don´t know which of them I like most. Maybe the blue viola or the red poppy?

We rested in a deck chair before we continued our walk.

We saw pretty artwork  and then I saw bed with white and yellow flowers. That reminded me for my dear cousin Edelweiss!  The desert plants were also very pretty.

The desert made us thirsty  :D We tasted original franconian beer  :D

And then we saw what you expect in a german garden: A garden gnome  B)

And once more artwork: leaks in the wall were filled with colourful Lego bricks  :D

Time to say Goodbye: One last picture with pretty flowers.

What a intersting day!

Love you, Mummy!

Yours, Wavy Gravy

Nueremberg, Germany - 22nd June 2012

By: Yosemite

Hello to California!

Today we made a trip to Nueremberg! We went by train and while waiting for it we had a cappuccino. Good start! In the train we occupied four seats. Hostmum luckily bought a familiy ticket  ;)

First sightseeing stop was the opera house. Second stop was at the big Lorenz cathedral. Then we had a good view to the old castle, unfortunately in renovation.

The next stop was a real highlight, I saw something, a american tourist MUST have seen in Germany. I saw a cockoo clock!!! Such a pretty thing!!! And a very, very big nut cracker!!!

And then something very strange happened: We went to a booth with Buddhas and there I got an enlightenment! What a great feeling! B)

We visited a few more sights, the place where the Christkindlesmarkt takes place. This is the oldest and most famous christmas market in the world!

This was it for today,

your enlighted Wavy Gravy

Berlin, Germany - 3rd July 2012

By: Yosemite

Hello to California!

What a great week! So much happened! We were in Berlin, but that wasn´t all!

It was hostmum´s and my first trip to the capitol of Germany and so we did what every tourist do. We watched the most famous sights of the city during a boat trip on the river Spree. At first you see the cathedral of Berlin, the house of the cultures of the world, in Berlin also called "Pregnant oyster"  ;)
The hyper futuristic building of the Chancellery and the old Reichtstag, where the german parliament is located in.

In the background of the next photo you see the television tower, 368 meters high, called "Alex".

One more historic building: The Brandenburg gate. It is the most famous building of Berlin. Here was the border between west and east for 40 years before Germany was reunioned.

The mascot of Berlin is the bear and I met him  ;)

Another surprise: Hostmum said we´ll have a date!!!
And guess what: Suddenly Crawfish came around! We had a TV meeting with several Californian visitors in Berlin!
Special thanks to Alex Squirt!

It was so great to see Crawfish and Dudette, the little mouse of LittleCableCars far awy from home! We chatted a long time and took Peaches with us. She will saty with us and wants to explore the world!

I am very happy!

Lots of Love, Wavy Gravy

Miniwelt, Lichtenstein, Germany - 6th July 2012

By: Yosemite

Hello, Mummy!

Even more adventure!

On our way back from Berlin we stopped at the Miniworld, where a lot of sights are built in scale 1:25.

At first we explored a castle from the middle ages! Burg Eltz from the 12th century in western Germany.
And some memories of Berlin, the castle Sanssouci in Potsdam and the famous sight of Brandenburg gate and Siegessäule (victory column).

Time to start our trip around the world! We climbed up the Leaning Tower of Pisa and I felt like drunken  :stare:

Then India with the fantastical mausoleum Taj Mahal, Australia with the Sydney Opera House. And last but not least:

USA!!! Cheerio and me posed at the Washington Monument and she hissed the Stars-and Stripes at the Capitol in Washington!
Certainly we sang our hymn  :D

Piercing Studio, Germany - 28th July 2012

By: Yosemite

Hey Mummy!

Yesterday I assisted at a very cool session. The brave Jethro wanted to have a piercing! Hostmum looked for her old piercing rings and I tried some. What do you think? Would it fit me and accentuate my style?

I will think about that  B)
