Travelog for: Ziggy Dragon

We really wish Spring was here but it is still cold in PA. Today we are going to get Pansies for our hosts garden. It is a nice clear day but very windy and cold. How do those little flowers survive this cold?

So many pretty colored flowers to choose from.



I really like the yellow ones. They make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside like sunshine!



We are taking this one home with us becuase it has a pretty face.



Now to get back inside out of the cold with all these flowers we have picked out to take home and plant. But we will wait to plant them on a warmer day.

Hi mommy 

Today i finally arrived in Germany. That was a looong trip, but i wasn't alone, so it doesn't matter 

I heard some voices and some was cutting our package...



And then Wacky and me jumped off! Hellooooooo!
Huh, what's that? There's another Wacky. Hahaha, that would be a lot of fun!



Oh my god.. two Wackys! Hrhr..



Everybody welcomed me very friendly. I think i'll have a lot of fun with these guys.



But today arrived another package. Let's see who's inside!
Purple Tentacle took the cutter and opened the envelope..



He looked into it with his huge purple face. Hahaha, i think he scared whoever is in this enelope! 



But then Wacky looked into the enelope and helped a little cow to crawl outside.





He introduced himself as Fiete. Hello Fiete and welcome 



Then we all read the postcard, Tamina (one of hostsmom Eustachias toyvoyager) wrote to Eustachia.

So let's explore where i'll be for the next month...



Oh, there is a red cat!



Hello puss!  This is Eloy. Wacky-Z told me, that he is very funny but a bit crazy, too



And here lives another cat named Cami. Hi Cami!



This is the balcony.

Eustachia turned the grill on for our welcome meal. Hmm.. what will it be?



A Pizza! From a hot pizza stone. Cool, tastes like a real brick oven pizza 



And for dessert, we made a spaghetti ice. All we need is icecream (vanilla and strawberry), strawberry sauce and white chocolate.



First of all we rasped the chocolate..



Then we squeezed the icecream through a spaetzle press 



Put some sauce and rasped chocolate on it..  Tattaaa!



That was a nice welcome!

Today Wacky-Z is going to leave us.



What a bummer, that we couldn't spend more time together, because he's very funny.



Goodbye my funny yellow friend. Maybe we'll meet us again one day.

Hello mommy 

Sorry for long time not updating, but hostmum Eustachia had some stress and much to do.

But i have a lot of fun as you can see on the next pictures.
Fiete and me did a trip to the "Vogelsberg" and enjoyed the beautiful landscape..

Woooow, what a huuuge thistle  Fiete was screaming, because sitting on it hurts! 



We walked thru the wood and took some more nice pictures.







This tree looks a bit scary i think... 



It is completely enlaced by ivy. That looks strange!





Fiete told me that these trees are for christmas time. They were planted and when they are  big enough, they'll be choped down and selled as christmas trees. Or it's also possible that people can come here to chop them down by themselves and pay then.

That was a great day! Finally we enjoyed the sun and then we drove back home.

Bang your head mommy! 

Today we're going on a trip to the Metalfest Austria!

But first we need to stop in Nuremberg, to buy shoes for hostmom and hostdad 

This is the underground store in Nuremberg. They have a lot of shoes!



Hahaha, Cilly is wondering about this shoe..



Eustachia and hostdad bought this underground boots 



So let's continue our travel to Austria!

The Metalfest Austria is a nice and not so big metal festival nearby the small town Mining in Upper Austria.

Haha Mining.. what a funny name 

Here are some pictures from our journey to Mining:

Oh wow, here we are! There in the background is a tent from the festival square



First of all we pitched our tents and a pavilion. And we are lucky, it's not raining and the ground is dry. Perfect! 



The beige one is our tent!  But ohoh.. take a look at the sky in the background..



Some minutes later it started raining, but everybody pitched his tent and we sat under the pavilion  so everything was fine!

In the evening we drank punch out of luminous glasses. Isn't that cool?

Today is the first festival day.

So first we need to exchange our ticket for a festival wristbands at this shack.



Let's have a look around...





This is at the festival area.



There in the background is the merchandise, where you can buy festival stuff and t-shirts or sweater of your favorite band...



Here i'm watching the band "Feuerschwanz" (english: Firetail, but i think they do not mean the tail.. if you know what i mean ) They are a german medieval band. They sound great with funny lyrics!!! Purple Tentacle translated it for me




Later that day we had a severe storm! It was raining, with hail, thunderbolt and it was sooo stormy. 

I was at the tent with Eustachia and the other TVs as it start raining heavily and then turned into hail with a severe storm. We held the tent that it not will lift, but we had so many tent pegs, that nothing could happened  But i was a bit scared.

As we came out of the tent we heard many peoples jubilate all over the camping ground and had a feeling of relief that the storm is over.

Everyone of our Viennese friends was wet to the bones  and the pavilion was damaged. 



The whole area around us was desolate!

And OH MY GOD! There is a little lake in front of the food stands 



Later in the evening the presenter of the festival gave notice of a new storm coming up. So we decided to escape to into the cars if it comes back again. But fortunately we had only some raindrops.

Our tent was dry, so we slept well this night. But one tent of our friends was comepletely wet so they had to sleep in the cars  poor ones.

The next day we had better weather 

We listened to some bands, drunk a lot and played drinking-dart. Hihihi.



The one with the fewest points has to drink! 

Well, my throw wasn't that bad 

So we had a lot of fun! And hey.. we still got a pavilion  Yeaah, without a roof, but even a pavilion... 



...contrary to our camping neighbours... 



This is heavy metal!

On Saturday we had great weather with some sun. So everything (including the ground) could dry and we enjoyed the warm weather.



Nothing new for today. We listened to some bands, ate and drunk a lot. 

Tomorrow is day of departure!

Good morning! *yaaawn*

We woke up too early in the morning. But we had to pack our things and drive back homewards.

As you can see, almost all our neighbours at the camping ground are already gone..









That was a nice trip and it was very interesting for me to visit a metal festival! We had so much fun and maybe i come back here one day

Hello mommy! 

The weather today is so nice and sunny, that we decided to plant some flowers at the garden of Eustachia's mom.



Her mom is in holidays, so it will be a surprise for her 

Mr Pumba starts with aerating the soil.





Great job, Mr Pumba!



Then i dug the soil with a shovel..



.. and Fiete can put the bulb into it.

But then said Mr Pumba, its better to chose another Flower, because the one Fiete had is too big to plant in in front of the roses. So he gave him another bulb



Here we go!



I closed the hole..



..and Mr Pumba fitted the information stick into the ground.



Time to place some more bulbs!



This is another good place! Oh wow, this bulb is very huge! Mr Pumba had to place it!



..and Fiete placed the information stick 



That's a perfect place for our three last flowers. I hope they all will grow, because we are a bit too late for planting.. We'll see

Hi mommy.

Sorry for long time not updating, but Eustachia had some trouble. But now i will show you what we've done the last weeks 

Today i visited Seligenstadt. A nice town. Let's do some sightseeing..













This is the Basilika St. Marcellinus and Petrus.



Oh look over there. A very small ferry boat to cross the river.





And finally we relaxed at the waterside and enjoyed the beautiful weather.

Today Cilly surprised us with a goodbye present. She's going to leave us tomorrow.

Cilly: "Helloooooo!" *rolling, rolling*



Cilly: "I have something for yoooouuuuu!" 







She brought us something to say thanks and goodbye.





CIlly: "I spend such a great time here with you and this is my leaving present for all of you. I hope you like it"

Fiete: "First!"

Oh yeah, this is sooo cool!



Cilly: "Fiete, i think it's better for you to sit here in the front seat..."





Oh my god, Purple Tentacle squeezes in, too

Mr Pumba: "I will push it!" 




What a great present!








Finally we gave Cilly a biiiiiiig hug from all of us together!

Okay,okay. Now we can play some more..

This time we visited Rüdesheim.

You can see it there in the background, on the other side of the Rhine.





But first we had to cross the river with a ferry boat!



What a beautiful view!











That was fun!







At the other side of the Rhine, we went to the Benedictine Abbey of St. Hildegard.



Here are many vineyards





And the view from upper here is also very nice!





This is the Abbey, but unfortunately we hadn't enough time to have a closer look.
