I helped make some more steampunk ornaments for the xmas tree. We used gears, buttons, and charms to create impressions in polymer clay. After baking them, we used a painting technique called dry-brushing. They turned out so great! We even made a polymer clay steampunk style snowman!
We have a lot more ornaments to make before Thanksgiving, because then we put up the xmas tree! Thanksgiving is this Thursday and we'll be eating a big meal! Don't worry, I'll be posting pictures.

My host tells me that a long time ago, Pilgrims came to America, from England, to get away from religious persecution and the Native Americans helped them survive on the land and taught them many things. Religious persecution is the mistreatment of people because of their religious beliefs. The Pilgrims actually thought that this was India, which is why they called the Native Americans "Indians". There was a big feast that the Pilgrims and "Indians" had together in late November, but no one knows exactly when, so now Thanksgiving Day is on the fourth Thursday in November.
There was more history in this time including the Native Americans being forced off their land. Oklahoma is part of the Trail of Tears where Native Americans were marched into reservations and many of them died. This part of the history is quite terrible and sad. However, they still celebrate Thanksgiving Day in America and it's all about giving thanks for what you have and being with your family.
I got to enjoy Thanksgiving with my Host Amelia and several other TV's and we all helped out with making dinner...
Jinny's Masataku
Mischa's Paul
Katie's Charles
MamiTig's Myka
Ina's Schnattchen
Mellialida's Mr.Shawn
GubbL's Kalso
Klubwerks (my host) Toki, Mulvane (Mully), Fleece, and Chico

We had fun decorating the xmas tree... but we haven't put up all of the ornaments. About half way through we all decided that a white tree will show off the ornaments better. So, we advised our host that we are going to get a white tree and move all the ornaments to that tree instead!

It frosted outside one day, but hasn't frosted again. So, I've been sneaking out of the house a few minutes early each morning to try and catch the frost. I want a photo of with me with frost snowflakes!
We're still working on presents, since xmas is only about 2 weeks away, and we get the white xmas tree this weekend. I am hoping to have more photos this weekend!

I met all of the insect toys in the house today! I met the biggest ladybug I've ever seen. Her name is Chrisha. She's so big and sweet! I also met Dottie the pillow pet ladybug (yes, she turns into a pillow).
I also met Flower. She's quiet but perky, and she smells nice too.
Then I met Quill, the multi colored larger butterfly, and Tussen the orange moth. My host told me that she was sick both times when her husband both them for her, which is what they were named after... Nyquill "Quill" and Rubitussen "Tussen". Quill and Tussen like to sit on Amelia's head when he's sick. They say it's their way of giving her a hug. Quill was even with her when she had ear surgery a few years ago.
They are all so nice and have interesting stories to tell! Oh and yes, that is my host in the last photo <3

We decorated the Christmas Tree today. My host Amelia made all the ornaments herself, with the exception of a few sentimental ornaments. Tannen the Bedtime Bear ornament is one of the toys that lives here. I got to meet all of the xmas toys that live here too.
I posed in Jane's Hat, from the tv series Firefly. It's an old series that didn't last long, but they have a lot of fans.

The household decided to open presents early this year. They wanted plenty of time to play with thier presents over the weekend. Everyone in the house caught a terrible cold, so presents made everyone feel better too.
So, we toyvoyagers decided to open presents too! I get a neck collar with a tiny bow tie and a lovely scarf. I don't have a lot of room to wear clothing, because of my gorgeous wings, but neck accessories are wonderful for me! Thanks for the gifts!
Oh, and it's supposed to snow this weekend. We'll see!

Hey mom!
We got the xmas card you sent. My host loved it. It was super kawaii (cute). I put it in the TV Book along with the stamps from the envelope. My host says she plans to fill the first page of the book with all stamps from the TV's who visit.
Speaking of TV's... I helped Toki with decorating her house. We are using a technique called "wallpapering". You put sealer on the wall which acts like a glue, put up the paper, and then put a coat of sealer over top of it. The sealer dries clear.
Then we ate strawberries <3

We played with a bunch of Steampunk stuff and we had fun! They have a more western style steampunk here in Oklahoma. They like pistols, flintlocks, and the worn "old" look... poker cards... that sort of thing. It's pretty neat!
