Today we went to a garden centre. We've had a calima (a haze of hot air and sand particles coming over from Africa) now for a couple of days so finally it's gone warm but at the same time very, very dry.


This is when we drove past Siam park, a new big water amusement park in Tenerife. Unfortunately you can only see my paw waving...

This is from the garden center in a place called Piedra Hincada.


And this is back home again, once my host's boyfriend had planted the plants we just bought. I wanted to help him but we didn't realise he was doing them until he had already almost finished.

Today we've been to the north of Tenerife. We went to a place called Puerto de la Cruz, the main tourist destination in the north.


I just had to pose with these nice Guzmania flowers


Here you can see the sea and also the pools of Lago Martianez.

And here we are on our way back home again. You can see that the calima was quite bad in the north too. Actually a lot worse than int he south.

Say welcome to Bally! He arrived a couple of days ago. Today we went to the post office in Las Galletas and we took some photos on our way





And here were are arriving home already

Today we went out to celebrate my host's friends birthday that was actually a couple of weeks ago.


Another ToyVoyager arrived this afternoon Bella and of course she joined the party

We've not done much recently and we even forgot to post these two photos that were taken on the 23rd. The weather's been bad; cloudy and rainy, so we've not really been able to do that much either... But anyway, here's a bit of sea and mountain view

This morning we took some photos while we were going back home from Katja's second job.

We just realised that we hadn't really had muh of a nose around our host's apartment and we also thought you might want to see their two cats so we've been taking some terrace pictures today.


The black and white cat is called Felix and the grey one is Katie. They both love playing with card board boxes...yes the piece of card board Katie's on used to be a box

Katja's boyfriend used to study horticulture and you can see that on their terrace, there are lots of different plants going there. Here are photos of some of them.

Today we've been to Los Cristianos. There was a Canarian food fair going but it wasn't quite as big as we had expected. We only got this photo from there:



The fair was at the cultural centre and there was also a display of school kids recycle art



Then we walked to the beach front near the port and sat there for a while

Today we've been to a classic car show. I'll just put up some photos as I really don't know much about cars..











This one is Katja's boyfriend's car, a Mazda RX7. I'm sitting on the roof.




There was also some Canarian music and dancers there

We had to take a break from the cars and we went and sat on the beach for a bit.












And then we took another break and went to see the surfers










On Tuesday or Wednesday we'll go up north.

Today we've up Teide National Park. It's one of the Unesco heritages.

Here's first a pink flower, there were loads of them on our way up and we stopped to take a photo of one

And then we finally saw Teide


They've filmed some scenes of Planet of the Apes and Star Wars up here

For a bit we were above then again




And then it was clear again, and everything's a lot greener on this side!!

Today there was something happening across the road as a fire engine arrived. In the end there wasn't a big fire there, maybe a cooking accident or something. A woman with a burnt arm was taken by an ambulance but nothing else. But still 2 different police forces arrived (local police and "guardia civil") to see what's going on.

Today we've been to a place called El Medano. It's a well known place among windsurfers eventhough we didn't get to see any windsurfers in action this time. I was told that it's always windy in En Medano but when we got there, it wasn't really that windy there at all. There are a couple of hotels in El Medano and lots of short term rental apartments as well. They get more Spanish tourists there than foreigners.

Today we went to Santa Cruz in the north of the island as Katja's boyfriend had to go see a nephrologist. Unfortunately there wasn't really anything interesting to take photos of apart from this church..but you can't see that that well either..
