Hexham Bridge, Hexham, Australia - 1st September 2007
By: Prowl_Worshipper
This is the Hexham Bridge over the Hunter River. It was built when Nik was 7, and she can still remember that because it was the first one in the Hunter Valley to be built on floating pylons.

Mmm, barbeque! A real Aussie BBQ I've always heard about. Today is Father's Day, and Nik's dad loved the presents we helped pick out!

There has been some unrest in Australia this year over flying the Australian flag. Ethnic groups have complained, which isn't right - after all it is Australia! But Nik's family has had this flag up for years and she says it's not coming down for anyone!

Oh my! What a lovely surprise! We had planned a little birthday celebration for Rama but it turned out to be a joint farewell for me!

I was chosen to blow out the candles for Rama, and what a delicious ice-cream cake!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY RAMA!
I am leaving this afternoon. I have had a lot of fun in Australia but I'll miss Nik, and I would have liked to get to know Dilbert better, but that's how it goes.
Au revoir cherie!

Phileas is now in Kallithea, Athens, Greece!!!
He is a little tired from the long journey but I'm sure that after a good night-sleep he'll be ready for more adventures!

Areir is a bookcrosser. So, I helped her "wild release" a book! It was fun! I hope it'll get "caught"...

As you may have understood, areir and arxitempela are friends. So, I get to see Smooch pretty often! And that's cool! She is so sweet..!
Yesterday we were playing a card game called mpirimpa! Areir and myself beat them! Oh, yeeeeaaah!
At this round I have 1600 points at my feet! I am the best!

Areir says that the best way to start your day - now that the weather (finally) gets colder - is drinking greek coffee!
This is me, posing at the... temple of coffee! Here you can find everything you need to prepare any kind of coffee (tommorow we'll have frappe!).
There is a hole story about this so called greek coffee... It's exactly the same with Turkish coffee but they can't decide who discovered it first..! So, when abroad you may have troubles ordering!

After having the coffee, areir turned the mug upside down...
I thought that was strange!

But strange was yet to come!
Areir asked me if I wanted her to... tell me the coffee!
Oh, yeah!
In Greece, after having greek coffee, they... "read the mug"!
Areir's grandmother knows to read the coffee... Areir doesn't believe in fortune-telling. But she thinks it's a funny tradition! All old ladies in Greece can't have coffee without reading it after!
"I see a cow in your mug..." says areir. "And a capital S... I think you have a crush on Smooch!"
