Travelog for: Lucy K

Today I went with Evelyn to the school where she works. It's a school for special needed kids. The most of them have broken homes, crying history and have a lot of trouble with themselves, police, family,...
She's works in the bureaus to do the accountancy.

A Toy Voyager friend had come with us! It's mandarine.

today we went to a flea market. It was funny. Kristel (the sister of Evelyn) collect pinguins. So they seek for does.

We found a few pieces!!!!! Yeah Kristel was happy, so I also!!!!





It was a good day!!!

Hey Mom,

today we went to Middelkerke. It's a small city at the coastside.
It's good known because every year there's a comicfestival. With every festival they put an other statue of a comicfigure.

Jommeke, suske en wiske, kiekeboe, robbedoes, lambik, smurfen, annemieke en rozemieke, nero, lucky luke, kuifje...

all very know in Belgium.

the beach... now there aren't much people on it, but when it's very very nice wether everybody comes here. Long traffic-jam as a consequence.



I think i found some look-a-likes... hihi.... i didn't get to close because they aren't as nice as i 'm.

On the stairs with Manderine to go on the beach... brrr the sand was cold on the feet!





this fish isn't for fun...
It's an appliances for children to find the parents back. The children have a bracelet with the figure (a fish, a banana, a trein, ...) on it and when they got lost everybody who found them can search the parents in the surroundings of that figure.

It's a system that has been found when there was a game to find a soluction for the many children who get lost every year. this system works and won the match. Evelyn thinks that other countries use it also!



with a buoy. This one isn't in sea because the water went away because of the ebb. Normally you have to swimm to it. But it was to cold...so we had luck!



after a long walk on the beach, we went with something like the one on the photo for a ride.
It are very funny vehicles...it even had a horse on it!





it was a nice day on the beach...
Evelyn promised me that we go back soon... than there will be a lot of animals at the sea dike...because it will be FARM DAY!!!

Manderine explained it to me because she has already helped her.

the machine helped a lot! Mandarine showed me and i did it all by myself

today we went to the sea. Middelkerke wasn't like it was the last time i've been there.

It was FARM DAY. that's a day in the year, farmers go to the sea with tractors, animals, farmproducts... to show and sell.

but first we maid a long walk on the beach...

today we went to Brugge. It's an old city in West-Vlaanderen. it's sooooooo nice. Romantic!

the Belfort! (big building with lot of bells! )







Brugge is famous for it's bobbin lace. It's more fine than the Brussel's bobbin lace.





this is a beautifull shop with nice candy. It's old-fashioned, but soo nice. Evelyn bought some lollypops there!







there are a lot of ditches with wather. They are very nice and there are little boats on it for tourists or a romantic couple. It's very nice!











this is the blood church. It's a church were the relic of Christ lies. It's a towel where the followers of christ rubs his blood with when he hung on the cross. Every year there's a procession and you can visit it every day.

Hoi Hippeloi,

Today i went with Kristel (Evelyns sister) and Mandarine to Antwerp. Kristel has there a friend who became father of a babyboy Thomas. It's such a nice baby!

The station of Antwerp is the most famous building in that city. there were elephants in the station. Crazy painted!

The big station. It's old but the whole building has been modernized. It's very nice! Little art in a daily used building.

Taking the stairs was very hard, but next to it there's a little gutter and manderine had a great time in it so we did it also!

the zoo next to the station. we didn't had enough time to visit it, but Kristel told me it's nice, calm, with a lot of animals. The biggest in Belgium!

today I played with the fish. They said 'blub' to me and I gave them food (so they asked for it!)

Today I visited Gent.

It's a big city in Belgium were a lot of students go to the univercity. Kristel (sister of Evelyn) went there to school and went on chambers.

It was moviefestival...10 days and the whole day films/movie in a lot af theaters and cinemas.
It was the last day!
(it's like Movie festival in Cannes but a lot smaller of corse  )





We went to the studi scoop. It's a small cinema with a lot of alternative movies. We went seeing 'Die Welle' = the new version of 'The wave' About a school were a teacher shows his students how Hitler manipulated his followers and how it escalate.



We also went to the centrum of the city...

Today we visit Roeselare. We hadn't have the time to even visit the city were i stay for such a long time...

We went to the grand place...with the cityhall and the miniature version of roeselare.

Today I went to the sea again. Not Middelkerke this time but another city at the coast.

today we went on our last trip in Belgium. It was to Planckendaele. it's a sort of zoo, but with a lot of toys and games for children.

I went with Evelyn, her boyfriend Eric, her sister Kristel and 2 Friends with the husbands.
