Kilyos, Turkey - 27th July 2010

By: bruehwuerfelchen

Hello Mommy.

It rained heavily and we couldn't take any photos while see send Claire and Ulrik off. We went to go to swim in Kilyos at the Black sea.
We just made a few pictures but I hope you like them anyway.

Kapirdag, Turkey - 1st August 2010

By: bruehwuerfelchen

Hello Mommy!

Last weekend we went camping in Erdek at Kapirdag, a peninsula at the Marmara Sea.
We went there by a fast ferry boat from Istanbul to Bandirma, the province town.
The camping site was in a small village called Düzle, which belongs to Erdek.

Firstly, some road pictures:
http://a.imageshack.us/img832/2084/1012235.jpg

http://a.imageshack.us/img185/1637/1012237.jpg

http://a.imageshack.us/img189/7205/1012250t.jpg

Now you learned the Turkish word for stop: DUR.
http://a.imageshack.us/img811/7849/1012234.jpg

Here are some pictures of our camping site:
http://a.imageshack.us/img580/4579/1012309.jpg

It was a really nice area, with lots of trees.

http://a.imageshack.us/img375/701/1012307.jpg

The camping site even has it's own beach:
http://a.imageshack.us/img411/8295/1012312.jpg

Sadly, the it was a little bit foggy and we couldn't see the other side of the bay that morning.

http://a.imageshack.us/img227/7193/1012310.jpg

After we had some rest we went to Erdek.

http://a.imageshack.us/img840/6803/1012320.jpg

http://a.imageshack.us/img704/6209/1012319.jpg

In Erdek we also had a nice breakfast.
http://a.imageshack.us/img299/533/1012333.jpg

Our stomachs were full and we became tired. We were lucky because we didn't have to drive the car.So we could lay down and enjoy the nature.

http://a.imageshack.us/img84/7483/1012360.jpg

We took a stop at some hill beside the road.
Behind me you can see the Marmara Island. We wanted to
go there too. But we didn't have really time.

This was at the end of our tour at Kapirdag.
In the background you can see the entrance to Kapirdag and you also can see Bandirma.
http://a.imageshack.us/img697/8178/1012457.jpg

Do you see the small, white factory at the right side of the picture?
Our camping site was at the other side of the bay (under it).

At the end of our trip we took a short walk at Badirma.

I will write soon.

Today it was time to say good bye to Turkey and also to my TV friends.

I watched out of the window for the last time.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v472/bruehwuerfelchen/Toyvoyagers/101_2513.jpg

I also had to do something else.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v472/bruehwuerfelchen/Toyvoyagers/101_2521.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v472/bruehwuerfelchen/Toyvoyagers/101_2519.jpg

Myrtle Turtle gave me a ride on her back. I had to hold tight not to fall down. You can also see Kapirdag on the map behind us.(just above me)
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v472/bruehwuerfelchen/Toyvoyagers/101_2515.jpg

She also told me that the Turkish word for honey is  bal.

So it was a nice last day in Turkey for me.Don't you think so?

See you soon in France!

Bergen , Norway - 6th November 2010

By: Morgaine

Hi mom.

A bit later then expected, but we have been very bussy.
First of all I want you to meet George, my TV host. He has promised to keep me safe from the cat that is currently living here. As George is a lot bigger then me the cat has a bit more respect for him. Sadly I'm a closer to the size of her chewtoys. But both George and my host has promised to keppe me safe so I'm not scared.

http://i478.photobucket.com/albums/rr145/DarkMorgaine/ToyVoyager/IMG_0692.jpg
As you already know my host here is working hard on her degree and has her masters due on 22th of November. So most of the day passes by with reading books.

http://i478.photobucket.com/albums/rr145/DarkMorgaine/ToyVoyager/IMG_0695.jpg
And there are a lot of them! So many in fact that I even desided to play a quick game of hide and seek. Can you see my mom?
http://i478.photobucket.com/albums/rr145/DarkMorgaine/ToyVoyager/IMG_0697.jpg
To relaxe after working hard my host loves to bake cakes. So since I'm a guest here she wanted to make me a honey cake. I helped offcurse. She said that if you wanted the recipe just let her know. It tasted yummy!

The honey we used for the cake were Norwegian heather honey. It's called Lynghonning. Sticky but tasty!

Kopervik, Norway - 19th November 2010

By: Morgaine

Hi mum!

Sorry about the lack of updates but as you know we have been hitting the books pretty hard these days, but now my real Norwegian adventure begins. B)
Today we traveld to my host hometown, it's about 3 hours with bus and ferry. The reason for this trip was to make christmas cookies with my hosts mother. It's a tradition to have all the cookies done in good time before the 4th of December, my hosts birthday. Sadly we managed to forget the transfer cable so you will get a realy large update on sunday when we are back home in Bergen. :D

Kopervik, Norway - 26th November 2010

By: Morgaine

Hi mum.

We finally found the transfer cable! The kitten had stolen it and dragged it under the bed. Here is an update on what we were doing last weekend :)

We left the house early in the morning. Because of all the Christmas cookies and presents we had to bring back with us we had a huge suitcase. I mean just look how big it is compared to me.
http://i478.photobucket.com/albums/rr145/DarkMorgaine/ToyVoyager/IMG_0745.jpg
I had company as George was coming with us to. Here is me and George ready for departure.
http://i478.photobucket.com/albums/rr145/DarkMorgaine/ToyVoyager/IMG_0740.jpg
Since it was early we fell asleep on the buss ride, but we were both happy to be woken when we got on the ferry. And I just have to say George is a really big space hugger and he snores!
http://i478.photobucket.com/albums/rr145/DarkMorgaine/ToyVoyager/IMG_0746.jpg
But at least he was nice enough to let me sit on his head so I could really get a good look at the view.
http://i478.photobucket.com/albums/rr145/DarkMorgaine/ToyVoyager/IMG_0748.jpg
Isn't it pretty? There was a smaller boat that passed us on the way out. If it wasn’t so cold I might even fancy a swim.
http://i478.photobucket.com/albums/rr145/DarkMorgaine/ToyVoyager/IMG_0750.jpg
There was some time to go outside and really enjoy the views, but it was really windy.
http://i478.photobucket.com/albums/rr145/DarkMorgaine/ToyVoyager/IMG_0758.jpg
But don't you worry mum...we though about safety first!
http://i478.photobucket.com/albums/rr145/DarkMorgaine/ToyVoyager/IMG_0760.jpg
After having a new nap on the bus we finally got to Haugesund. It's not a very famous town, unless you really like herring or jazz. My hosts mother picked us up at the bus stop there. When we got to Kopervik we got strait to the baking. Here we are making dog biscuits. They also have to get a treat during Christmas.
http://i478.photobucket.com/albums/rr145/DarkMorgaine/ToyVoyager/IMG_0765.jpg
http://i478.photobucket.com/albums/rr145/DarkMorgaine/ToyVoyager/IMG_0767.jpg
http://i478.photobucket.com/albums/rr145/DarkMorgaine/ToyVoyager/IMG_0768.jpg
When the cookies where done it was time for my favourite part. The tasting! While George was really happy about getting a dragon cookie I didn't want a cookie shaped as a bear. Sadly they didn't have any shaped as a honey pot. So my host told me that I could get a moose. She said only the biggest, strongest Norwegian bears eat moose.
http://i478.photobucket.com/albums/rr145/DarkMorgaine/ToyVoyager/IMG_0771.jpg
I'm a strong and brave bear! Hear me roar! :D
http://i478.photobucket.com/albums/rr145/DarkMorgaine/ToyVoyager/IMG_0772.jpg
We ended up with a lot of cookies and treats. Looks like we needed that big suitcase.
http://i478.photobucket.com/albums/rr145/DarkMorgaine/ToyVoyager/IMG_0785-1.jpg
During our break between baking we had the chance to take some photos outside with the family dog, Dixie.
http://i478.photobucket.com/albums/rr145/DarkMorgaine/ToyVoyager/IMG_0786.jpg
http://i478.photobucket.com/albums/rr145/DarkMorgaine/ToyVoyager/IMG_0793.jpg
http://i478.photobucket.com/albums/rr145/DarkMorgaine/ToyVoyager/IMG_0794.jpg
http://i478.photobucket.com/albums/rr145/DarkMorgaine/ToyVoyager/IMG_0802.jpg
I even found a little house just my size. So now I have invested in real-estate. Sadly it's a timeshare with some of the local birds. But I have first dibs on it during the summertime :)
http://i478.photobucket.com/albums/rr145/DarkMorgaine/ToyVoyager/IMG_0804.jpg
The next day it wasn't that great weather so we staid inside. I got to meet several of the locals. And trust me there were a lot of them. My host was a collector when she was a child.
http://i478.photobucket.com/albums/rr145/DarkMorgaine/ToyVoyager/IMG_0780.jpg
http://i478.photobucket.com/albums/rr145/DarkMorgaine/ToyVoyager/IMG_0779.jpg
I even met a few Celebes  :p
http://i478.photobucket.com/albums/rr145/DarkMorgaine/ToyVoyager/IMG_0778.jpg
http://i478.photobucket.com/albums/rr145/DarkMorgaine/ToyVoyager/IMG_0777.jpg
http://i478.photobucket.com/albums/rr145/DarkMorgaine/ToyVoyager/IMG_0776.jpg
This guy might even become a TV like me! :D
http://i478.photobucket.com/albums/rr145/DarkMorgaine/ToyVoyager/IMG_0781.jpg
The last time before we had to leave again we used to find some of the Christmas decorations. They start early here in this house.
http://i478.photobucket.com/albums/rr145/DarkMorgaine/ToyVoyager/IMG_0809.jpg
http://i478.photobucket.com/albums/rr145/DarkMorgaine/ToyVoyager/IMG_0811.jpg
http://i478.photobucket.com/albums/rr145/DarkMorgaine/ToyVoyager/IMG_0810.jpg
The ride back to Bergen wasn't much. It was all dark so we couldn't even see anything. But on the ferry we at least got to have a "svele" with a butter sugar paste on it. It was surprisingly tasty!
http://i478.photobucket.com/albums/rr145/DarkMorgaine/ToyVoyager/IMG_0816-1.jpg
http://i478.photobucket.com/albums/rr145/DarkMorgaine/ToyVoyager/IMG_0813.jpg
And once again..we stayed very safe! :p
http://i478.photobucket.com/albums/rr145/DarkMorgaine/ToyVoyager/IMG_0821.jpg
In all it was a nice weekend.
Now we are getting ready to take the night train to Oslo, the Norwegian capital. There is a major dog show in Lillestrøm, a neighbouring town there this weekend. Will take a lot of pictures  :D

Oslo, Norway - 27th November 2010

By: Morgaine

Hi mum

Here is a very very late update on our visit to Oslo.

Sadly we didn't get to take as many pictures as we had hoped. The weather was not on our side. The cold was piercing everything so we only went out on a short sigthsing tour. But last start with the begining. We stayed at a lovely hotel. My opinion is based on the fact that there was some lovely chocolate waiting for us on our pillow. Ofcurse me and George claimed them first!
http://i478.photobucket.com/albums/rr145/DarkMorgaine/IMG_0830.jpg
The view wasn't mutch to write home about but we did get to do some people watching while my host and her boyfriend went down for breakfast.
http://i478.photobucket.com/albums/rr145/DarkMorgaine/IMG_0832.jpg
Our first stop of the day was Vigelandsparken. A park famous because of all the weird statues that was made for it by Gustav Vigeland(1869-1943).
http://i478.photobucket.com/albums/rr145/DarkMorgaine/IMG_0860.jpg
Some of them are really not apropiate for children so I don't have to many pictures. But I did get a closeup of me and Grumpy. The most famous singular statue in the park. With the temprature being so low I can understand why he was so grumpy.
http://i478.photobucket.com/albums/rr145/DarkMorgaine/IMG_0852.jpg
I also got to take a picture with the famous monolitt. It's a bunch of human entwined to make a tall statue. Found it best not to take a close up of it though. That Vigeland was a weird fellow I say!
http://i478.photobucket.com/albums/rr145/DarkMorgaine/IMG_0869.jpg
After that we whent to a have a look at the ship Roald Amundsen used on his travels. It was huge!
http://i478.photobucket.com/albums/rr145/DarkMorgaine/IMG_0881.jpg
I think I make rather handsome shipcaptain. Don't you?
http://i478.photobucket.com/albums/rr145/DarkMorgaine/IMG_0896.jpg
I even got to se some far off relatives that they had there. We bears are sure enough a big and scary when we want to be.
http://i478.photobucket.com/albums/rr145/DarkMorgaine/IMG_0877.jpg

On the day of the dogshow both me and George desided to stay saftly inside the camerabag. There were some rather nosey dogs there you might say!

Ede, The Netherlands - 29th January 2011

By: Colinde

Hi mummy, hoi mama!! :)

Today I arrived in Ede, the Netherlands. I met Colinde's dog Micky and her cat Dixi, and I have also hang out with another TV I met over here, called 'Hoots the
Owl'. I really think we like each other! I brought some lovely Norwegian chocolate for Colinde, and we shared it all together. Hoots has a weakness for chocolate, just as Colinde does, what a convenience  ;)

This is Micky, a 10 year old pug. She lives here since she was a puppy.

And here are 2 pictures of Dixi, a naughty 3 years old cat.

Colinde showed me how she lives. She lives in a kind of industry area, there are about 10 houses over here. It's very quiet in the weekends, Colinde told me.

We cooked a nice vegetable soup for dinner:

And Colinde received two bags of hot chocolate from a penpal, and now she wants to try one of them:

See you later! Hugs!  :)

Ede, The Netherlands - 3rd February 2011

By: Colinde

Hi mom!

Today it wasn't relaxing at all, because my host took me with her to her work. She works as a secretary and the phone rang non stop! Fortunately she had some time to show me her office.

This is the view from our window at work. It's the library of Ede.

Here you see me with my host, aren't we cute together?

And here's the last picture of today, with the mill in Ede. It's called the 'Concordia molen' (molen = mill). It's builed in 1865 but in 2008 it's completely restaurated. The mill is close to my host's work, she can see it from a window too :)

Till next time! Big hug :)
