Arbersee, Germany - 2nd September 2007
By: fam-united
In the afternoon we visited the Great Arbersee (lake). This lake is one of three lakes in the Bavarian Forest. On the Czech site of this big forest is the Bohemian Forest with five more lakes. The Great Arber is the highest peak of the Bavarian-Bohemian-mountain rigde, with an elevation of 1456 metres, while we were on 935 metres. We unhappily couldn't see the Arber, because the weather was too foggy.
Since 1939 the area around the Arbersee is nature reserve area. Each year 1/2 million of visitors come to see the lake.

Bad Kötzting, Germany - 2nd September 2007
By: fam-united
On the way back to the hotel, my family visited a house, while we had to stay in the car. We didn't know, why we weren't allowed to go with them, but when they came back, they carried "big" boxes and seemed to have a lot of fun. We had to realize, that they were in a distillary shop and tried some of the bottles, before they bought some. (of course they only sipped, because they didn't want to have problems with their heads - whatever they wanted to tell us by saying this).

Bruchsal, Germany - 21st September 2007
By: fam-united
Today I finally got the chance to have a sightseeing tour in Bruchsal. I'm here since a few years now, but never I had been allowed to go with my family. Thank God, there are toyvoyagers in this house now, so they think of taking me with them
Here is a part of the palace garden called rosegarden.
I know, that my clothes maybe aren't the right clothes for being here, but it is my favourite. In the background you see the backside of the palace.
In the palace garden are many statues. Four of them show the four seasons: winter, spring, summer, autumn and four other statues show the four elements: water, air, fire, earth.
Sabrina and her brothers loved to look in this pond, when they were little kids, because there are many ducks.
Here is the point, where people meet to start a guided tour through Bruchsal.
This building is called Belvedere and was a hunting lodge in former years. In summer months it is used as a place for open air theatre.
This fountain is next to the Belvedere. The park around the Belvedere is called "Stadtgarten".

Bruchsal, Germany - 21st September 2007
By: fam-united
The tower belongs to the old slaughterhouse of Bruchsal. Petra and Ralf like to go there and I really wondered why. Don't you do to? Then they told me, that there is a restaurant in this building, where sometimes a comedian shows his/her program. They love to see comedians.

the car, Germany - 3rd October 2007
By: fam-united
Today it is National Holiday of Germany and most people don't go to work on that day. There are some celebrations, that you can watch in tv (television, not in a toyvoyager ). But the people in Germany don't really celebrate on that day.
My family decided to go shopping in the Alsace, which is in France.

Seltz, France - 3rd October 2007
By: fam-united
My family first went shopping in this big supermarket in Seltz, but we toyvoyagers weren't allowed to go with them. They were in fear to lose us, so we had to stay in the car. It seemed, that nearly everyone in Germany living close to the border of France drove there to go shopping: Silly Germans!!!
On our way to Lauterburg we had to drive close to the border again.

Lauterburg, France - 3rd October 2007
By: fam-united
In Lauterburg we had lunch and I shared a pancake with Sabrina. We were in a restaurant, where you only could order pancakes or crepes to eat and of course something to drink.
Nearly we slipped out of the last photo, uuhh.

Weissenburg, France - 3rd October 2007
By: fam-united
Then we drove to Weissenburg (Wissembourg), because we wanted to see the old part of that city, but it was so crowded, that we headed home again. So you see only a few shots, which Petra took from inside the car, but I have been here and I will come back again, but not on a German holiday
on the way to Wissembourg
We wondered about this traffic signs. They deleted every word, that showed to the left side, but nothing to see, why they did this.
This is the only photo of me in Wissembourg, I'm really sad.

Schweigen, Germany - 3rd October 2007
By: fam-united
The German Winegate is a building of the worst time in German history. It was built in 1936 officially to make the wineyards of the Palatinate more famous. Of course it was also a provocation against France, because the border is very close (only 1km to Wissembourg). The gate is the end point of the Palatinate Wine Route.
(I can't put this online without telling, that I'm so sorry for everything that happened during these years.)
