In the morning I accompanied Pandamao and Maggy, the dog on a walk along the Isar river. We crossed a bridge and I caught a glimpse of Deutsches Museum (German museum). It is well-known for its Science and nature departments.
Then we walked along the Isar. Brrrr, it was cold out there. In the moment it is about -14 degree Celsius, but it felt like - 19 degrees because of the wind.

It is icecold outside! I do not want to go out. Instead I asked my host to show me her plants. She's got a lot of African violets and they are all blooming in different shades and colors.

It snowed during the past days and was cold enough, so the snow did last. It is great to go for walks - I like the sound the snow makes under my feet.
I was building a snowman ---- hard work, but I like the outcome. First I started with rolling a ball in the snow until it was big enough. Then more balls, and some finishing creative touches - and here comes my snowman.

Spring has come - at least inside the apartment. Here some more plants are starting to bloom. These are also gesneriads, the one with the white flowers is Chirita Tamiana and the one with the red dots is Kohleria Sunshine. I like this one very much, it is so colorful and makes me smile. I just wonder if they taste nice?? After all I am a turtle.

Across the corner there is a nice square - Gärtnerplatz. I especially like the theather there: the opera/theater of Gärtnerplatz. It was opened in 1865 and was first called „Actien-Volkstheater“.

I helped to pick a parcel at the post office's packing station today. I was really curious what's inside And guess what - it's more African violet plants! My host must be crazy - her apartment already is a djungle of African violets!

I went shopping today at the Victuals Market in the city center. 200 years ago the market started as a market of farmers offering their products. Today you can find 110 stands with everything, food, exotic fruits, flowers, spices, lots of different things. The area is about 10.000 square meteres and in the middle there is a beergarden. And I found several small fountains with statues of local celebreties like Karl Valentin, a Munich comedian.

At one corner of the Victuals Market you can find the "Schrannenhalle". In former times Schrannenhalle meant the place where grain is sold/traded. The hall was built of glass and iron and rated as a techical masterpiece. The hall was torn down in the beginning of the 20th century, the building material was lost for more than 50 years and found again in 1978 and later rebuilt.

right next to the Hofbräuhaus is the Orlando House. And in between those buildings the Platzlgassn - a small alleyway, hardly visible from outside but very nice from inside.

In front of the residence's gates there are lion statues. Everybody rubs the lions' noses as it should bring luck. I could not stop and rubbed real hard
Right next to the residence is the Feldherrnhalle and Theatiner Church.
