Travelog for: Mimi and George

Portsmouth, UK - 22nd June 2012

By: MySongIsLaughter

Hi!

Today, after our long journey, we finally saw daylight! We first realised that we must have arrived at our destination when we heard the voices of 2 toyvoyagers discussing how they were going to get at us, and then saw the scissors sticking into our pakcet as they cut through the sellotape.

We were greeted by Rosalind, who is MySongIsLaughter's own TV, and NoMi who is also visiting. They asked us about our journey, and made sure we weren't feeling travel sick.

Then, we all piled into Frances' bag so we could go for a walk to the city centre. Frances needed to buy a present for a friend, and a film to watch, so we browsed several different shops!

When we came home, We made muffins with M&Ms in them! That was really fun, but we had to be careful not to make our paws too dirty!

In the evening, we ate fish and chips, which is what many people in the UK like to eat, particularly on a Friday. We watched a film called "Accross the Universe" which has a lot of music by the Beatles in it!

We are tired after our long journey, so we will rest now.
Bye!

Something very interesting arrived in the post today! Do you remember that when we were in Germany with Sookie we found the book "Mach dieses Buch fertig"? Well, we have now also seen the English version "Wreck This Journal"! It is very funny seeing the same book again, and going through to see the same things in a different language :)

London, UK - 30th June 2012

By: MySongIsLaughter

Hi,

This morning, we got the train into London! It was a long journey, but we helped Frances start filling in "Wreck this Journal" on the way. When we got there, we then had to get the underground (where we got slightly squished as it was very busy!) and then we walked to Hyde Park where we stopped by the memorial.

After we'd had our picture taken with the memorial, Frances started hadning cookies to other people who were there. We were a little confused, until she explained that it was a DeviantMEET! Soon, the park was filled with people drawing, taking photos, eating picnics and making new friends! It was very fun!

When we got home, which was very late, we were about to go to bed when we saw a big package. It was Porridge, come to stay with us!

London, UK - 1st July 2012

By: MySongIsLaughter

Hello!

Today we went to London again! How exciting! It is Canada Day, and because we didn't have time to swim to Canada, we went to Trafalgar Square where there is a party every year. There was live music, street hockey and a yummy dish called Poutine which is chips with cheese and gravy. It was raining a bit, but we still had lots of fun!

Hello!

Today, we were getting ready to go to Scotland when we realised we needed train tickets! We were just about to set off for the station, when a package arrived! Kasimir Kashmir has come to join us for our holiday! This is very exciting!

So after we said hi to Kasimir, we set off for the station to get our tickets. Afterwards, we went to play in the park. The slide was very big, but we held hands so we wouldn't be scared!

Hi!

We did another bit of baking today! Frances needs a chocolate cake to take to a Baptism tomorrow, so we thought we'd help out. It was really good fun, but we made a bit of a mess with the sugar and flour, and we ended up eating quite a lot of the cake batter and icing!

Between Portsmouth and Motherwell, UK - 16th July 2012

By: MySongIsLaughter

Hello!

We've made it to Scotland! It was a long train journey, but it was nice to be able to look out the window and chat to all of our friends instead of sitting in an envelope for the whole journey! We had a bit of a break when we got to King's Cross station, so we pretended to be on our way to Hogwarts and found Platforms 9 and 10.

On the train from London to Edinburgh, the person who had booked the window seat next to Frances didn't turn up so we all sat there and watched the beautiful scenery go by!

We're very excited to be on holiday here with our friends, and we can't wait to find out what adventures we'll have :)

Motherwell, UK - 17th July 2012

By: MySongIsLaughter

Hi!

We visited a lake today! Frances' Gran lives very close to Strachclyde Loch, so because it wasn't raining we went for a walk around it. We saw many different water birds, such as swans, geese and ducks, and we also visited the ruins of a Roman bath. We decided not to go for a swim, though!

Near Perth, UK - 24th July 2012

By: MySongIsLaughter

Hello!

Today Frances had to travel to her flute course, so we went with her. On the way, we stopped off at a beautiful forest with a big waterfall. We walked around it, enjoying the fresh air a lot after sitting in the car all morning!

Hello!

Today, we saw Virgo and Rosalind off on their journey. They are both going to Germany, but to different places! We will miss them, as we have enjoyed staying with them, but we know they will love Germany and have a fantastic time on their adventures!

Forest of Dean, UK - 11th August 2012

By: MySongIsLaughter

Hello!

We just got home from Scout camp! It was very cool! We were staying in the beautiful Forst of Dean, and we explored the area by foot and canoe! We also went into some interesting caves, and up a cliff! Now we want to join the Scouts.

Stonehenge, UK - 14th August 2012

By: MySongIsLaughter

Hi!

Today we visited Stonehenge! It's very impressive - the stones have been there for 4000 years! We enjoyed walking around them, although we couldn't get too close, and we also learnt a lot about the different theories of why the stones were put there. No one really knows for sure, but they could be a calander as the sun shines through a different arch at different times of the year.

Edinburgh, UK - 18th August 2012

By: MySongIsLaughter

Hello!

Guess where we are - Scotland again! We've got another week to try and see as much as we can of this wonderful place!

Today we went into Edinburgh to see the Camera Obscura, which is an old fashioned camera which projects an image onto a screen of what's happening outside. It was really fun, as we could use it to see the whole city, and if you stuck your hand out you could pick up the people walking on the street!

We also visited Edinburgh castle, which is a really beautiful building. It was a really fun day out!

Glasgow, UK - 20th August 2012

By: MySongIsLaughter

Hello!

Today, we got to go to a transport museum in Glasgow! It was really cool - there were loads of old cars and they all looked very nice. There were lots of other vehicles, including loads of bikes and motorbikes! We even met some toys from the 60s and 70s who were very friendly :)
