Toronto, Canada - 17th March 2012

Hello everyone! Let me introduce myself as I am new in Toyvoyaging. My name is RootBear and my great-grandfather started the restaurant chain now called "A&W". I have always wanted to travel so I decided to look for my Godparents, Lakambini and Lakan, in Canada.
Lo and behold, I found them and as it turn out, they already have another toy named "Pippi De Danse" but Pippi cannot really travel much outside the country yet. She is very busy with loads of local activities herself. She is also a professional dancer and fitness instructor. But Lakambini agreed for me to stay with them indefinitely, supervising my travelog as necessary.
This is my welcome breakfast! Wow - pancakes shaped like Mickey Mouse. Guess what? They were made by my Godfather, Lakan.
Lakambini is a Postcrosser who loves to exchange postcards all over the world. Today, she had asked me to accompany her for a walk to mail a map of Canada postcard to someone in Taiwan! I was so excited to go out! The weather is glorious! Spring is certainly around the corner!
Thereafter, we went for a walk to a nearby park. Kids were playing everywhere and what a glorious day!
My Godparents decided to take me to a nearby supermarket. They think I need to know where it is located so if I get hungry and they are at work, I can go and do the grocery shopping myself. But look what captured my eye right away?! Although there is no rootbeer, I found my 2nd favourite drink, the ultimate chocolate drink!
Anyway, gotta go to bed now. I am tired. Good night!

Today is a very interesting day! Very Busy, I have to say. Let me introduce to you Pippi De Danse. We have the same Godparents but Pippi does not travel outside the country. She is very busy but she agrees to help Godmother update my travel log. Here she is!
Today, Lakambini told us that we are going to accompany her to the studio where she teaches dance! Very exciting! To get there, we have to use the Toronto Transit Commission, known as "The Rocket"
These are the various subway map around the underground train station.
The underground train trip was very exciting! Wow! The train was so fast. We arrived at no time!
We arrived early enough to explore the studio! It is such a nice, cozy place....and lots of sparkly, glittering items! Interesting. Obviously, Lakambini cannot control herself and she started trying some of the stuff.
She even tried the famous Middle Eastern Dance hip scarves!
But not me! I was content to read the various posters showing the studio promotion!
Lakambini noticed that the studio has a Production coming - Egyptian Panorama! Superb! Yes, we have already purchased our front seat tickets. It is gonna be great!
Oh interesting! They even have a summer camp for Progressive Beginner! This, obviously, Lakambini is quite interested.
But maybe, someday, I can learn to play the Dumbek! What is a dumbek? It is the Middle Eastern Drum! My Godfather, Lakan, takes lesson to learn how to drum...you see! In fact, this is his Dumbek!
After Lakambini's classes, we all decided to celebrate the glorious weather and also my arrival. We all went to see the movie "Hugo" on 3D. Fun stuff!
Before going to the movie, we all went for a dessert first! It was so yummy! Pippi and I shared this ginormous piece! Luckily, I am not on a diet but Pippi is so I ate most of the dessert -- which is fine by me!
Then off to the movie!
For some reason, our tickets include free drinks and popcorn! My Godparents are not really big on eating popcorn but we took them anyway.
That's me and Lakambini relaxing on our theater chair!
We all had a great time! "Hugo" was a fantastic movie. I highly recommend it but now, I have to go to bed.
Thank you for reading my adventure today!

OFF TO THE GYM!
Hello everyone! Today, Pippi and I decided that it is about time for me to get focused on my waistline! I think after gobbling that big cheesecake, it is about time for me to get serious with my exercise. Pippi does not have that problem you see!
So today, I have decided that I would like to start my exercise regimen so I asked my Godmother to take Pippi and me to the gym with her! We want to attend the Spinning Class too! Spinning Class is a simulated bike ride and it is one of the many exercise favourites of Lakambini.
We were such an eager toyvagers that we were the first one in the class and the door was still closed!
We had to set up our own bike but first, we want to strike a pose! No, really, it is Pippi's idea to strike a pose - not me! I am not really a poser but I can be convinced to pose!
It was very cardio and we had to spin for almost one hour. Pippi and I were helping each other to move the pedal of the bike!
We were able to maintain a good heart rate during the interval training that Lakambini had allowed us to relax on her saddle bike as we all did the final cool down!
Lakambini even have a special shoes for her Spinning Class and she promise to buy us one of those if we prove to be consistent in our exercise!
Finally, on our way home, we were reminded to keep ourselves hydrated so vending machine such as these are everywhere at the gym!
Aaah, so relaxed! See you next time and as Lakambini says: "In the Absence of Motivation, Habit kicks in - so one has to develop good habits!". Today, I am starting with developing good habits of exercising regularly!
Yours in Toyvoyaging,
RootBear

Launch of Canadian Titanic Stamps, Canada - 5th April 2012
By: Lakambini
Hello everyone! It appears that I do a lot more adventuring lately, leaving me with little time to update my travelog. Pippi, whom I now consider my baby sister, had promised to help me update my travelog but she too is also busy! So many fun things to do, so little time!
However, I had a fantastic time celebrating the launching of Canada's Titanic stamp in lieu of its 100th years of anniversary. Both Pippi and I stayed up late on April 4 to help our Godmother, Lakambini, to prepare postcards and covers to be sent to our friends all over the world!
The preparation is long but certainly a lot of fun! We have pre-ordered these postcards so we can have them ready. We also have to make sure that the envelopes are properly addressed!
The following day, Pippi and I woke up early and decided to do a "Discovery Walks" enroute to the Post Office.
We saw a nice, beautiful garden! The morning weather was a bit cool but refreshing!
We saw a nice church!
Finally, we made it to the post office! Now, we got to get busy! We had to make sure that the postmark is properly placed with no smudge.
The postcards are all set!
After doing our immediate task, Lakambini allowed us to check the goodies at the post office. Canada Post is launching five Titanic stamps and this is one of them. This is a full sheet and certainly a collector's item!
This is the ultimate collection! I really love it and went back to my Godmother right away and suggested that perhaps, she would like to buy one for herself!
Taking it home is an issue though... but first, Pippi and I were invited by the Postal Clerk for the Cake Party in celebration of the launching of the Titanic Stamp! For sure, we will not say'no' to sweets!
Good news is, Godmother decided to buy the framed photo of Titanic! I must have a very good marketing power!
Now, the next question is taking it home! Yikes We need to ride the subway and it is almost rush hour. Oh well, we just have to do it!
We made it and that's me and Pippi helping each other to lower down the ginormous frame. We just need to wait for Godfather Lakan to come home so he can hang it!

Out to Shop with Godfather Lakan
Well, I've had so much fun with my Godmother Lakambini, that I thought Godfather Lakan would be getting lonely. I decided to bring him on a shopping trip to a favourite store! He's such a handyman.
We rented a ZipCar for a couple of hours.
It was great, I was able to catch some sun after the winter.
Then, onto the store to get some plumbing supplies. I don't understand why Godmother Lakambini didn't want to come along, it was such a great store!

Orlando, Florida - 15th August 2012

ZUMBA CONVENTION 2012
Wow, I got to accompany Godmother Lakambini to Florida for her fitness training at the Zumba Convention. This is me in the plane!
Scary eh?!
The convention was huge! There were approximately 7,000 to 9,000 delegates! Some people say there are around 10,000! Imagine? 10,000 of fit people?!!!
This is enroute to the other hotel where other classes are being held as well.
This is Beto, the founder of Zumba Fitness!
That is me on the right side, a bit shaded as Godmother Lakambini is trying to be creative with her camera!
Of course, our trip will not be complete with postcard mailing to friends!
When Godmother had a bit of free time, we decided to wander around Orlando, Florida! There are lots of nicely decorated restaurants!
CUBAN THEME!
[b]JOHNNY ROCKETS
This one is an interesting building. It is actually a venue for a Live Magic Show!
Time flies and it is time to go back! I certainly enjoyed this trip and after this convention, I really want to keep fit!
