Hi Mum,

Tonight we are at the patchwork and craft group having a look at the lovely crochet blanket one of the ladies is working on - it was really warm and cuddly




we liked this angel panel one of the ladies was working on too - it is one of five and will look really good when it is put together.

Hi Mum,

Today we spent the day at the Ballarat Wildlife Park.


these are grey kangaroos - they come from an island off South Australia and are quite happy around people - in fact they ALL wanted to be fed by us! 


I saw one emu

the two emus!

and Misty the koala - isn't she pretty! 

on the log behind me is a Tasmanian Devil - the light shines through their ears and they look really red like Devils horns - they scream and wail and must have been very scarey for the early settlers in Tasmania.

we had a little rest break in the cafe - waiting on my hot chocolate!!

we saw some of the red kangaroos - they don't like people so much so are in their own enclosure

Ohh....hello!

I met Patrick the adult wombat

and a young wombat - I don't know this one's name

there are koala's sleeping under the shelter

this koala is easier to see

I found some friends in the shop Mum

I had a little chat to this fruit bat - all about my travels

and this one gave me a fly around!! 
Phew! Enough excitement for one day!

Hi Mum,

Today bags were packed and clothes sorted



and we tried out a special travelling bag for TV's!! 

Not bad

Hi Mum,

We have arrived in Bali - it was 4 degrees C when we left Melbourne and it is 28 degrees here in Bali!! Phew!! A bit of a change!

Hi Mum,

Good breakfast to start the day! 



The we took photos to show you some of the statues/temples at the villa





Later in the morning we went to a glass manufacturer and saw this beautiful green glass Buddha


In the afternoon we sat by the pool





In the evening we went to a bar on the beach and sat in beanbags to watch the sun go down

Hi Mum,

Today we had a big day out which started with a big drive in the car - it took a long time to get to the park because the roads are narrow and there is a lot of traffic and it is slow getting places!
But here we are at the entrance





We saw the elephants having a bath


We saw people having an elephant ride - which Sue did later but wasn't allowed to take the camera so we missed out on a photo there 



here the lions were lying in the sunshine


this was where we had lunch


these are the white tigers


here I am heading for the elephants

Hi Mum,

Here is a photo we missed in yesterday's update!

We had a look at the marine part of the park and saw a whole tank of PIRANHA!!!    Lucky I was outside the glass!!

Hi Mum,

we have left the safari park now and are driving to a temple that is built in the ocean, on the way we past lots of rice fields -



interesting road traffic!


This is the temple we have come to see at Tannah Lot - the land between the temple and the ocean has been worn away by the ocean and so now you can only get to the temple at low tide. The Temple was built in the 11th Century! 


and this is the sunset we came to see along with hundreds of other people!!

Hi Mum,

We drove to see a cultural show this morning and got to have a photo with the costume on the stage




we also stopped at a place that grew coffee and cocoa and cinnamon and cloves, we got to taste the coffee and cocoa 



We stopped for lunch at Kintanani and had a look at the volcano on Mount Batur

Hi Mum,

Here we are looking at Mount Batur - can you see the black in the photo - it is lava from the last eruption of the volcano in 1994! 
Lucky all was quiet on the day we were there!! 



On our way home we stopped at a Hindu temple that was built in the 15th Century. Sue and her husband had to put on a sarong to cover those bits of the body that must be covered! They also had a tie around the middle to encourage good thoughts. It was a beautiful and peaceful place.

Today we walked down through the shops and hotels and had a walk along the beach

Hi Mum,

Today we are travelling north to Lovina and on the way stopped to look at the rice fields



then we had a look at a Hindu temple next to Lake Beratan



and in the mountains we had a look at the monkeys on the side of the road - you can't get too close or touch them or they will bite you!!

Today we had a sit by the pool



then had a walk down on the beach



BigFoot and I checked out this fishing boat



can you see us on this boat??




here we are on the edge of the rice field - it comes right to the beach. We sat and watched the sunset

Hi Mum,

Good day for resting by the pool at the villa





this water feature has a lot of fish swimming around in the pool under it



In the evening we went to a really nice restaurant to watch the sun set and to have dinner - sadly the sky was cloudy so we didn't see the sunset but we did have a good time 




in the bean bags by the pool

the fire has been lit and the drinks have arrived - this is the life
