Paderborn, Germany - 30th July 2012
By: mcdaniels
Dear Mum,
now it's "Libori" in Paderborn and that means, it is state of emergency
"Libori" is both a secular and a worldly festival in Paderborn with many masses in the cathedral and processions in honour of St.Liborius whose bones are kept in a shrine in the cathedral's crypt. Every July the shrine is showed for a few days and the "Libori" festival is celebrated for one week. There is a big market (with the biggest panties I've ever seen )round the cathedral and a very big fairground.
"Libori" has started last Saturday and I've been present! Mum, you can't imagine how many people and how many bishops I've seen! And I watched the famous "window of the three hares": three hares and three ears, but every hare has got two ears! This window is part of the cathedral and landmark of Paderborn.
And tomorrow evening we'll visit the fairground and hostmum promised we'll drive with a Ferris wheel! I'm so excited!!!
All the best, yours Konsta

Oh, Mummy, the Ferris wheel was fantastic!!!
First we went to "Petit Paris", a part of the Libori-fairground and ate some French speciality and drank French rosé (yes, I was allowed to drink some wine...).
And then we walked to the big fairground...and there the Ferris wheel was!!! Wow, it was very very tall and it looked fantastically! I got into a flap about driving in a Ferris wheel
Though it was a cloudy evening we had a great view to Paderborn city and the environment.
After driving we watched some other merry-go-rounds, but the Ferris wheel of course was the best!
Yours happy Konsta

Hello Mum,
today morning we welcomed Knirrie from the Netherlands. Walt Duck, Störte and me sat together with her and talked about our TV-experiences for a few hours.
In the evening Knirrie and me went for a walk and I showed her my favourite places and lots of flowers. And we looked at a lovely sunset and the full moon...very romantic...and Knirrie is a real nice girl
Good night and best wishes,
yours Konsta

Hi Mummy,
last Sunday it was the last day of the "Libori"-festival, so Knirrie and me went to Paderborn.
First we visited "Little Paris" again and then we went to the big fairground and....we drove Ferris wheel!!! And imagine, Mum, it was more fantastic, perhaps because I was accompanied by such a nice girl
Libori ended with a big fireworks, unfortunately the pictures are not fantastic, but the fireworks was!
And then Knirrie and me made a picture in front of a heart with the words "I love you"...
Bye Mummy, yours Konsta

Hi Mummy,
today evening I helped Knirrie completing one of her life missions: we ate a sausage together. Knirrie was totally enthusiastic, because it was a vegetarian sausage without any pork.
We started to eat and the sausage became shorter and shorter and shorter and shorter and....oh

Dear Mum,
unfortunately hostmum had some problems with the internet, but now here I am again!
Sunday the 12th we had a very nice day: it started with a great breakfast in the garden together with Knirrie, hostmum, hostdad and the old dog ladies. Look, Mum, what I created for Knirrie: a butter heart
Then we explored the garden with lots of flowers, apple trees, tomatoes and so on...
In the early afternoon we started to Paderborn by bike for playing miniature golf. It was fantastic to help hostmum and hostdad getting the little balls into the holes
And then: cooling off with a big ice cream...yes, a very nice day!
All the best, yours Konsta

Dear Mummy,
yesterday Knirrie and me went into the garden and blew at a faded dandelion. Then we could wish something...I hope that Knirrie wished the same as I did...

Dear Mummy,
yesterday a small parcel arrived. Störte, Walt Duck, Knirrie and me were very courious about the contents, because of the whispering in it. Störte took heart, opened the parcel with a knife and...two little monkeys came to light! After welcoming Joesy and 3*Euro they showed us all their little things they collected on their journeys so far, wow!
And then we sat together and talked about our TV-experiences for hours and hours...
All the best, yours Konsta

Dear Mummy,
yesterday we had to say good-bye to Störte, who started to his next journey, a secret mission!
And in the evening we went to hostmum's parents for watching football on TV. First we fortified ourselves with pizza and ice cream and then the match began: Dortmund against Bremen. Dortmund is hostmum's and her mother's native town, so we all shouted for Dortmund...and Dortmund won
All the best, yours Konsta

Dear Mummy,
imagine, Joesy has learned how to drive a tractor! And then she drove and drove and drove...after a time we all felt dizzy and only 3*Euro continued watching her driving, because Joesy is his girl.
Best wishes, yours Konsta

And now we had to say goodbye to Walt Duck who started to his next host.
In the evening we went to an open-air theatre, watching "The murderer of women"...it was very thrilling and I had to reassure Knirrie...

Paderborn, Germany - 1st September 2012

Dear Mum,
yesterday it was hostmum's birthday. In the early morning Knirrie, Joesy, 3*Euro and me surprised her with a nice birthday song and I think she was very delighted at our quartet
Unfortunately she had to go to work, but in the afternoon we had a birthday teatime in the garden of hostmum's parents. We were allowed to eat as much cake as we could, wow!
And in the evening we had a party at home with chocolate for the TVs, candlelight and a table fireworks: you had to light a fuse, then a fire fountain lighted eight candles and the melody "happy birthday" rang out...very special
All the best, yours Konsta

Hi Mummy,
yesterday we drove to Paderborn city by bus. First I showed Knirrie, Joesy and 3*Euro the cathedral and the "window of the three hares" and then we went into hostmum's favourite café for drinking coffee and tea with some of her friends on the occasion of her birthday. And we got to know Willibald the turtle who was given to hostmum as a present. Welcome, Willibald!
Best wishes, yours Konsta

Dear mummy,
yesterday we had a romantic evening watching a very beautiful sunset
We were standing right next to German cows...I like these cows very much...of course not as much as a special piglet from the Netherlands...

Altenbeken, Germany - 16th September 2012
By: mcdaniels
Dear mum,
today afternoon we went on a bike ride to Altenbeken, that is to say Knirrie, 3*Euro and me drove by bike and Joesy drove by tractor!
On the way there we watched the Beke river and the "Little viaduct" and took a rest at the bank of Beke river (a very small river, I think...)
Then we reached Altenbeken with it's landmark, the "Big viaduct". Though Altenbeken is a small town it is also a junction of German Railways. So in the middle of the town there is standing a very old steam engine. Wow!
On the way back home I met some German cows and we took a rest again, very comfortable. Suddenly I found a signpost which pointed to a "hotel for insects", yummy! But unfortunately no insect at home at the moment
Best wishes, yours Konsta
