Hello mum,
Yesterday we said goodbye to SnakeSpeare. He started on his first trip.
After a small snack (there were snakes sausages, hihi)





we sat together, ate muffins and gave him good advice for his journey.





Then it was time to say goodbye. I gave him the friendship bracelet that I have crocheted.

SnakeSpeare slipped into his travel cover. A last look and lots of good wishes go with him on his journey.

Hi mom,
as a large envelope arrived yesterday,



Jasper had a smile on her face. After we opened it, we knew why.



Yuma is home.



He brought two friends that are living here now.





We hugged and greeted him.



Then we had much to tell.

Hi mommy,
because today was so nice weather and Jasper did not work in the afternoon, we decided to take a walk.



Our route took us to the river Thur and Aeulischlucht.



The Thur looks very romantic.











On the shore we built stone figures.



(costs Jasper a few nerves)



We followed the steep path into the woods.
A nice view from high above of the river.





A beautiful hideaway.





Then we climbed down a small dirt track.
Here I am sitting on a huge rock.



Everywhere there are huge boulders here.
Do you see the bright triangle over my head?
We have to crawl through to get to shore.





And then we saw the waterfall.







I discovered mushrooms



and a large cavity in a tree.



After a short break





we walked on through the forest.



Back at the shore, Jasper showed us that the romantic river can also be very dangerous.
Do you see the nests in the tree?



These are no bird nests, but rather stranded grass. So high was the water at last flood.
This stuff has washed up the flood.

Then climbed up the path



and squeezed through between the rock walls.



The civilization has us back.
On the way home I saw beautiful flowers.

Hi mom,
nothing special in the last days.



Just wanna to say hello.

Hi mommy,
Yesterday we attended a special event. A hot-air balloon festival. I could watch up close as the hot air balloons were made ready for launch. First the balloon envelope is spread and then inflated with a huge fan.



Subsequently, the air is heated with a gas burner. The hotter the air is the more the balloon rises.





























Then the pilot and passengers climb into the basket and the balloon takes off.













It was great.
I will also be balloonist. I've found the perfect balloon - TV size.



After I had watched many balloons at the start, I was waiting for the highlight of the day - the night glow.









Isn't this an incredible sight?

Hello mommy,
today - in a short rain break - I was with Jasper at the chicken.



A neighbor is on vacation and Jasper looked after the chickens in this time.
I helped to get the eggs out of the nest.

The eggs are dirty - no surprise with this lousy weather.

Hello mom,
Sunday morning and it's still raining - or again? We do not know.
Well that Jasper has found something interesting that does not require good weather.
So we went to Stein in Appenzell and visited a show dairy with museum.







Here we could see how the famous Appenzeller cheese is made - or by what means it was produced earlier.
Mom, you know it surely from advertising: the one with the herbal brine.
A cutting-edge facility that is operated by one person, processed thousands of liters of milk into cheese.

















Then, we let us explain the care and ripening of cheese.



















Very interesting.
And then - a cheese lover's paradise.( Mouse paradise )









Approx. 15,000 cheeses are stored here.









Slowly but surely we were hungry.
Unfortunately, this was not for us.



Host dad made it possible that I could try a little bit.





Oooh, so good.

Then Jasper found a place for us and we enjoyed cheese and other delicacies.











After this refreshment, we marveled at the simple means by which cheese was made earlier.













No comparison but the same result - wonderful cheese.





A visit to the store was required.









To 500 grams of cheese richer, we were on our way home.

The feast continues.

Today Jasper baked a cake for us.









She hopes that improves our mood, which has reached a low point after another week of continuous rain.









The aroma was fantastic and we could not wait to try a piece.









Stuffed full and satisfied I discovered even a little blue sky and a ray of sunshine.

Hello mom,
Jasper had a lot to do yesterday. Because the weather was so beautiful we have connected the "Must" with the "Allow". So we strolled in Wattwil - the center of the Thur Valley - along the Thur.
Far away we saw the monastery of St. Mary of the Angels. (The small white houses above the center of the bridge)



On the other side of the river stands the high school. Host brother learned here before he studied chemistry in Zurich.





Because the Thur valley is so narrow, most residential areas are built on slopes.



This bridge - a pedestrian bridge - is one of many that cross the Thur.
Wattwil alone has seven bridges.



The redesigned train station place. Among them a parking garage was built.



The Post Bridge - built in 1909.



This futuristic structure is the steeple of the Protestant church.

So we had circled the center of Wattwil.
Now came the "must". We ran to the bank, the post office and the supermarket.
Go for a walk was funnier.

Hi mommy,
Yesterday we welcomed a new guest. A nice girlie horse named Hanne Hü.
When I saw her the first time she was still asleep.



Later, in our living room, we greeted her warmly and talked very nice.





Then she looked to me as I was playing Bottleship.











Maybe she thinks I'm a bit crazy, that does not matter, I had a lot of fun.
