Good evening,

on new years eve hostmum took me to the city of Frankfurt.
We went on a bridge over the river Main to watch the firework from the distance.
Sorry that most of the photos are very blurry. But the place was pretty crowed and Susie's was very careful with me. And on top it was foggy that night.
Look at the tower on the left side of the river.
In the beginning you can still see it. And in the end not at all anymore.

We brought our own little firework to Frankfurt but someone (not me) forgot to bring a lighter. 
So we had to wait till we got back home to start it.

Dear Mum,

on 25th of February Susie's took me to a postcrossing meeting in Stuttgart.
Have you ever heared of postcrossing?
People from all over the world send postcards to each other. And Germany has one of the largest postcrossing community.

It was a wonderful day with the best of weather.
First we went for a bit of postcard shopping and some sightseeing.





















Then we got together at a restaurant for lunch and to sign the postcards all the other participants brought.









After we signed a hundred cards or more we went to the nearest mailbox to mail out our cards.






Than was an interessting day.

Hi Mama,

in March Susie's took me to the Veggieworld fair.
Since the Paracelsus fair was in the same building we took the chance to go there too.
They had all kinds of......
....interesting things there.

But see yourself:













Don't even know what most of this stuff is for. All this chakra reading, ancestors healing and weired stuff.


But it got much better from there. Just upstairs was finally the Veggieworld. So much Food.    And we got to taste test a loooot. 







Unfortunately they had no sample of this one

By the end of the dayy we had sore feet and a full belly.

Hello dear Mommy,

on the first weekend of April the local puplic transportation company had a super cool special offer. Everyone with a monthly ticket could use it to ride in the whole traffic company area without any extra charge.
And because the weather was super nice, we of course had to take this chance.
So we rode the train to the village of Assmanshausen (by the river Rhine).

This is right outside the train station



After a short walk through the village we took a cable railway up a very step hill. Unfortunately the photos of me in the cable railay went missing. 





Once up there we walked along a hiking trail to get to the village of Rüdesheim





What a wonderful view







See the people in the backround? I wonder what they are looking, and pointing at.





Now we are on our way to the world famous Niederwald Denkmal



It's huge



Right underneah it are some very nice vineyards








And below the vineyards is the village of Rüdesheim. Which is also very famous and crowed with tourists



















That was a very nice day.

Hello there,

how are you doing Mommy?

On easter friday we had the nicest weather so we decided to go on a little daytrip. One hour up North and we arrived in Limburg/Lahn.

The first thing we got to see was this bakery window with a very interessting cake. We Later go some of that cake (it was super expensive but so so good).



This is probably the smallest street in the world.



Do you see the skull on the statue?



This is the river Lahn










And here you see the bishop's see of Limburg.
It got pretty famous over the last couple of years because it was renovated for an insane amount of money.













Some pretty nice old houses and streets.

Hello Mommy,

on April 22nd went on another Postcrossing Meeting.
This time to Nürnberg.
We had a bit problems geeting there. The train was late and stuff.
So we had to rush around town to catch up with the others.
But we managed to snap some photos on the way.



















This is me at the restaurant were we got together to sign and stamp huge stacks of postcards





Afterwards Hostmum showed me around town for a bit more sightseeing























Nürnberg ist know for 2 culinary specialties.
One is Ginger bread



And the other one is Bratwürstchen (fried sausage)



We had a very fun time. But its quite exhausting walking around all day.

on may 10th Susie's had a business appointment in the City of Cologne.
Of course I had to come with her to see the world famous cathedral cologne.

This is right after we arrived.















In the evening, after the meeting, we had a bit of time before we had to catch the train. We walked to the Hohenzollern bridge which crosses the river Rhine right behin the cathedral





Can you see all the locks? These are love locks. The railing of the bridge is cover with it

Dear Mummy,

on june 3rd we had a prettty eventful day in the Rhön.

We started with a walk through some marshland.

After we were done with the trail (it was kinda short) we drove to a cute little village near by for lunch















After lunch and a stroll around the village we headed on to our next destination.

This is Part 2 of our trip to the Rhön.

In the afternoon we drove all the way up to the Wasserkuppe. Which is the highest Mountain of the state of Hessen.

We started our little tour of the Wasserkuppe at the spring of the river Fulda





The area is well known for for sky and paragliding

This former radardome is know a viewing tower and event area



As we got closer it got more and more windier. It was almost a storm. And hostmum had problems holding per camara to take photos of me



Enough for today and time to go back home.

Hey Mommy,

on June 15th was a puplic holiday in Germany and hostmum didn't have to go work. 
Her mum planned a surprise day trip and took us to Bad Salzhausen.
It has a very nice and huge spa garden/park.







Look at that tree. It's tree trunk is going sideways:



Hmmmm. So nice.





The park even has it's own medical/mineral spring







There were a lot wild lifing dragonflies in this creek. Can you see them?



And there is a millwheel



And also an herb garden







What a nice and relaxing day strolling around this park all day.

Gooooood Morning Mom,

on June 18th it was time for an other daytrip (because the last one was so long ago  ).

We started the in Miltenberg which is by the river Main.
The weather did not look to good in the moring.



Miltenberg has very nice half timbered houses.

Ok, lets give it a try and see if we can add some more photos from the rest  of the day.

After Lunch we drove to the nearby Wertheim.




It has a very pretty old part of the town











Above the town on a small hill is a cool castle with a great view.

On June 23rd Hostmum took me on a very special and extraordinary postcrossing meeting.
It was not just the usual get togehter.
But see yourself.

In the morning we met the other postcrossing members at the airport in Frankfurt.



We got to a huge meeting room



It had a unique view on the airports forefild





But what made this day so special was a guided tour through the international postsorting center.

So many postcards. Hostmum still gets excited about it.



This machine was stoped and opend so we can take a look at it. Just for us.

But of course no postcrossing meeting without  signing stacks of cards







What a super interessting day. 

Hello dear Mummy,

the next sunday (June 25th) it was finally time to go on vacation. Yeah! 

On the way to our destination we stopped on the way for a lunch break in Rothenburg ob der Tauber.
It's a very lovely, medieval Village with a lot of narrow streets.

Besides all that outside beauty, there is a very special inside sight in Rothenburg. One that hostmum absolutely loves. She said that she would move in there if she could.
It's Käthe Wohlfahrts Christmas Village. Which is a store that sells christmas decoration all year long.

Ohhhhh, so many nice things to buy







But now it's time to head on.

Hey Mommy,

on our first day of the vacation we hopped on this little train.
It took us all the way up to Germanys highest mountain, the Zugspitze.







The first thing hostmum wanted to do is, pay germanys highest Postoffice a vistit to mail some postcards. 



And outside we go for lots of ahhhhhs and ohhhhhhs because of this breathtaking views all around.

It's part of a huge construction site up threre.



And by the way, this is the mountain top with the summit cross

We just had to turn around to be back in Germany

Back down from the mountain we strolled along this lake for a bit

Enough for the first day. 

On the next day we went on a mountain again (this time a much smaller one). The Laber in Oberammergau.
There wasn't much to do besides hiking steep downhill. But we didn't feel liking this. Instead I checked out the flowers and pretty soon took the cable railway back down again.





























Even if it was a bit cloudy that day, the view was pretty good.
