Up in the air, above Austria - 24th April 2013
By: Mausbären
Then we flew above many mountains- well, a large part of Austria are the alps, and we flew above a part of them. It made hostmum think of the legends of Rübezahl, a giant, who lives in these mountains.
The last mountain, you see is called Grimmig- right next to it was the aeroport of niederöblarn

There we were in Niederöblarn. It looked so great there, with all the mountains.
We enjoyed the landscape by going for a walk, later we flew back home again.
I must say it was a fabulous experience, I wouldn't want to miss

Vienna, Austria - 5th May 2013
By: Mausbären
Today we decided to cook for ourselves. We wanted to do something healthy and in the end settled for wraps.
It was quite a task to cook them, because the knife was so big, that we needed all four of us to do it. But when host mum found a smaller knife it got much easier.
We first had to cut the meat, and some garlic, and then to mix it with some seasoning- Drescher and me argued it the bowl would be big enough. First it didn't seem like it, but it was really big enough to hold all the food. After a while we could put it into the pan and fry it, and afterwards fill our wraps with salsa, and the meat mixture- it was sooooooooo yummy

Vienna, Austria - 17th May 2013
By: Mausbären
hi there!
Today Susy had a very good idea. It was all windy in Vienna, and we didn't quite know what to do- but then Susy said that maybe we could do something to make good use of all the wind- my interest had been awoken. I was getting so curious...then she told us, that we could build skites!
What a great idea! So we could use all the wind
We all designed a different skite, according to our likes. I think they turned out quite beautifully.
Love, Mr. Curious

Vienna, Stephansdom, Austria - 23rd May 2013
By: Mausbären
Today we went to St. Stephen's cathedral, and the fair in front of it.
St. Stephen's is Austria's largest church, which is also quite old. It's building took place a lot of time, but it started as early as 1137. Yet it was never finished. Of course I got curious about why.
There is also a legend about why it was never completed. It goes like this:
A young man, an architect, was in love with the daughter of the man in charge of building the cathedral. He was against the marriage of his daughter to the young man, so he set him task, which he thought impossible to fulfill. He was to complete the building of the second tower. Desperate, the architect made a pact with the devil, saying that while the tower was being build he was not allowed to speak the name of one of the saints. If he did, his sould would belong to the devil. At first all went really well. The tower was nearly completed when the young man, standing on top of the tower, called the name of his love, who was standing in front of the church, in greeting. Then he fell off the tower. His love's name was Maria.
From that day on finishing the tower was considered unlucky.
Fact is that the building of the cathedral took so long, that the style went out of fashion. That'S why it wasn't completed.
When we went back, I even climbed the one tower of St. Stephen's
We also went past a Heuriger, which is a typical Vienniese restaurant. It was well visited by sooooooooooooooo many toys.

Bangkok, Thailand - 3rd June 2013
By: Mausbären
Guess what? We've been to Thailand!!!!
It was only for a very short time, so there will ony be one entry about it. But even though it was for such a short time, I enjoyed it immensly.- as you know I've always been curious about Asia
so, first thing we did, was to go to the memorial bridge- ok, we really wanted to got to Grand palace, the former residence of the king, but got out at the worng station, and so we were at Memorial Bridge- there was a nice temple there though.
Because we were at the worng place, we were able to go to another temple, Wat Pho. What Pho is surrounded by four chedis (even though you only get a good look at two of them on the picture) The chedis resemble a bell, which is a lucky symbol in Thailand. In them there are the ashes of four former kings of Thailand.
the next few picture were taken at the Grand palace. It is build very beautifully with lots of statues, which are meant to protect it from bad spirits. Again you might notice, that on the roofs of the buildings there are lots of bells.
From our room we enjoyed the most stunning view above Bangkok. I really enjoyed this trip a lot.

Langenlois, Austria - 3rd July 2013
By: Mausbären
Hello!
Today we went to the Loisium. The Loisium is located in Langenlois, and is a famous vineyard. We first met Fridolin, the Loisium's cellar mouse, he told us all about the vineyard in front of the Loisium.
It is a relatively young vineyard, but it is also old enough to have many fruits. Vine will only carry fruits, that are good to make wine, after 5 years and it is also quite a lot of work to cut the vine in a way which helps it produce good quality fruits.
From the vineyard you will enter another building which leads you into the cellars. The building really made me curious, because there were symbols all over it. I asked hostmum, and she explained what the symbols meant. Basically the story of how wine is produced is written on the wall.

Langenlois, Austria - 3rd July 2013
By: Mausbären
Then we were in the cellar, and could take a good look at the wine barrels- they are soooooo huge
We also learned about the cellar cat, who is very important, because it will always sleep on the barrel with the best wine. This is the case because cats like warm places. The wine which is doing best in its barrel will produce more heat, than the other ones. Therefore its barrel will be warmer, and the cat will like to lie on it
We also had a look at the workplace of the guy who produces the barrels. Unfortunately he was out, but we could get a good impression of how much work is involved to get a barrel.
We were also able to go into the former house of the owner. It was made up in the most lovely way. You could even have look at the bread they produced
Last, we tried to guess the various tastes of wine. Therefore we had to smell at a bottle, and then guess which fruit or spice smelled like that. It was quite hard to do, but so much fun
Love, Mr. Curious

By: Mausbären
This time we did not pass any big mountains- because we were not crossing the alps, like we did last time.
But instead we were able to see Graz and Ljubljana from up above, and also the rivers Mur, and Ljubljana
And last but not least- we were also able to get a good look at the sea from up above

Even though it was already more or less the perfect day, it even got better!!!
That's because Piran is the most beautiful city. It is very classic mediterranean, and simply looks beautiful. Furthermore we had the perfect weather, and were even able to look to the Italien coast!
It really was a great day!

Vienna, Austria - 26th July 2013
By: Mausbären
Hello!
Tonight I experienced every feeling there is to experience- well almost (I'm already curious about the other ones)
I felt joy, I felt frightened, I felt anxious, I felt amazed, and I felt relieved.
Well, first things first. I have to tell you, what we were trying to do- somebody in our group, had become quite curious about ghosts- well, ok, it was me. I was so curious, and the other toys were all in for it too.
Cilly did not really believe in ghosts, or so she said, but she thought that staying at a scary place could mean quite a lot of fun for us. Susy wanted to prove that ghosts do exist, and Drescher, well, he did not seem to be quite as much into the idea as we others- you could almost believe that he might be scared of ghosts...
Well, as soon as we sat at the fire, Cilly suggested to tell some ghost story- what we did not knwo then, but only saw just now on the pictures is, that we were joined by ghosts in the story telling!
but then it got really scary, because there was a loud and frightening noise- I readily admit that I was scared, but nevertheless I was also quite curious about what was making these noises. That's why we followed it to its source- a strange looking, small house- and guess what? We did not find a ghost there, but a new friend- a.piglet- who will now join us
It really was quite a fabulous night!

Vienna, Austria - 2nd August 2013
By: Mausbären
Hello!
Today I was curious about rivers in Austria, that is why we visited one. We were happily sitting on the "coast", when a little something in the horizon caught my attention. I was getting more and more curious about what was swimming in the river, when finally I could make it out- guess what it was?!?- a pirate!!
He was very nice, and when we found a real pirate ship, he was even willing to train us a bit- it was so much fun
