Vienna - Schloss Schönbrunn, Austria - 25th December 2013

By: sannah

Hi there,

I am still with oldieooma in Vienna, she just asked sannah to do the updates.

So here I am, at the famous castle Schönbrunn in beautiful Vienna.

A Christmas market was attracting many visitors, too.

Just let me pretend for a moment that I own all that ...

https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-DRvFsUndQJE/Ur5-5MUmBUI/AAAAAAAATqI/0nJZgtcscJA/w907-h510-no/Tommi+007.jpg

This part is called the Gloriette.
https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-qxmDfXIVAyM/Ur6AM9BO3II/AAAAAAAATr4/ZJr1F7jscXc/w907-h510-no/Tommi+021.jpg

But since it was a little cold outside (at least too cold for me) I was glad to check out the Wagenburg. Look at this beautiful old carriage!

And following a irresistable smell, I found the Hofbäckerei (court bakery) ...

https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-QsKAloJFR10/Ur6BMdm3glI/AAAAAAAATtI/drVaUk_6lv8/w907-h510-no/Tommi+031.jpg

... where I had a delicious apple strudel.

That is the taste of Vienna! I love it!

All the best,
Tommi

Yes, I'm on the road again! Today I arrived safely in the Netherlands!
First I saw an orange beak and soon after that I saw my new friends. They covered me with hugs!!!

They had some nice treats for me: heartshaped candy. On every heart there's a Dutch word. But one word was English: COOL!

The wheather is a bit grey today, but the flowers are colourful. In the last picture you see Emjay's figtree. Although Holland hardly has a tropical climat, the tree produces a lot of figs each year!

This is Fancy Pearl. She's not interested in me. Oh well, never mind! I'm sure she'll come around when she gets to know me.

That's it for now, mum. I hope you're fine. Give my regards to Dille and Nils.

Bye, bye!

Tommi

We have a typical Dutch lunch. No, not bread and cheese, but "patat met": chips with mayonaise.  :)
