Rostock, Germany - 19th June 2007
By: Iloenchen
Today, I was very lucky. I was sitting in a shop, and I was very bored. Although there were other toys around me, it wasn't exactly interesting. Amanda, the bee, just wouldn't stop talking about flowers and honey, and I would have done everything to escape from her.
I was about to fall asleep, when I felt a hand closing around me. I jolted awake, and looked into the face of a young woman.
"Who are you?" I asked.
"My name is Ilona," she answered. "Do you mind if I take you home with me?"
Of course, I didn't mind at all. Ilona took a closer look at Amanda, as though she wanted to take her, too. When we finally moved away without Amanda, I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding.
So here I am, in a small room in the students residences somewhere in Rostock, and I'm looking for an adventure.

Bruchsal, Germany - 27th July 2007
By: fam-united
After a short travel I arrived in Bruchsal. It's a rather old city founded in 976, but I didn't see anything of it.
Nevertheless I had a lot to do, because I met a couple of other toyvoyagers here. Ballet Cindy will start her travel to the USA soon so we will have some fun at home and maybe do a little sightseeing tour with her before she starts her travel.
Nuada's travel plans:
Iloenchen
fam-united
Belessita (A Coruna, Spain)
Florazoom (Arles, France)
2012 (Finland)
Hermione4586 (USA)
huldab6 (Iceland) staying here

Untergrombach, Germany - 30th July 2007
By: fam-united
We drove to Untergrombach, on of the suburbs of Bruchsal. Bruchsal has about 27 000 inhabitants and with its suburbs there are about 42 000. Untergrombach is the biggest suburb.
Here we are on the Michaelsberg. Berg means mountain, but it is more like a hill and not a mountain. You have a nice view over the Rhine valley and far behind you see the Palatinate mountain. On the first photo you see a part of Bruchsal.
The town you see next to us is Untergrombach and then you see Büchenau.
My hosts parents live in Bruchsal, but close to the wood you see on the photo. Petra herself swam in the quarry pond, when she was a young girl.
The Michaelsberg is a nature reserve area and there are very special flowers and other plants.
We didn't take a photo of the nice chappel on the hill, because they put up a scaffolding.
Bruchsal is at the edge to the Kraichgau hill country. It's not so easy to take a photo of that, but maybe you can imagine, how it look like, when you see this.
We found some grapes, but Petra told me, that I can't eat them, because they aren't ripe.

Obergrombach, Germany - 30th July 2007
By: fam-united
We saw an old castle in Obergrombach, but we didn't go closer, we had been too tired.
Obergrombach is another suburb of Bruchsal. Büchenau, Heidelsheim and Helmsheim also belong to Bruchsal.

Bruchsal, Germany - 6th August 2007

Because the weather was bad, Nuada and I sat at the African violet and looked at the little home fountain.
Later Petra showed me how to knit a pullover.

Here are photos of the views from the balcony and from a room of my host's house. Maybe you detect the baroque church St. Peter and the house St. Maria?

We were in Heidelberg today, but only visited the zoo for one hour. Then we had to go back to the car, because everyone was wet from the heavy rain.

Back in Bruchsal I learned how to sew a curtain. Then I packed my bag and started my travel to Belessita in Spain.
