It's time to walk back to the car.

Wow, look at that huge rock!  I want to play in it. It's locked.

We're in Virginia Beach for a feis, an Irish dance and culture competition.

I'm tired from a short night, we got here very late last night and it's very early in the morning now.

I might be a hair dresser, fixing Kat's bun and putting in millions of bobby pins is fun.

These are ghillies, also called poms or soft shoes.  Kat dances reels in them.  I'm reeling from watching her wrap the laces.

Brian and I helped tape the bottom of Kat's hard shoes for the hornpipe and jig.  Brian got a little wrapped up in his work.

I can't show you the dances because photographing dancers in motion is grounds for disqualification.  It  is all very exciting and noisy.

The day had a happy ending.

Brian is excited about going to BunTraveler in Washington for a costume party. I'm going to stay here and go trick or treating. We might also egg a few houses or TP them.

Come on, Brian, stop fooling around!  It's time to go to the post office.

It's quiet without Brian.  I'm a little bored. I played cars with Tee but it wasn't the same.  Friends add so much flavor to our lives and when they're gone, life is flat.  I'm going to look for some new flavors.

We're going to the DaySpa! 3tmom says we're not going to get the works, just nails and hair trims.
Bekah, the stylist, is young and funky.  She says I'm sooo cute! 

I met Bekah's dog, Nameless.  I told her I was a ToyVoyager travelling around the world.  She said she is happy where she is.  Maybe we can be friends. 

I'm filling a shoebox for a hurting child somewhere in the world.  I chose to shop for a girl, age between 10 and 14.  Shopping for someone else is so much fun!  I bought pretty socks, Lip Smackers, notebook and pencils, soap, toothbrushes and toothpaste, and candy.

So the child knows someone loves her, I'm sending this cutie. The cashier says she looks just like me!

This is so much fun, I'm going to fill another box, and so are others. I looked at the shoebox website to see where people can send their filled shoeboxes. Way up top, I clicked and found out I can send shoeboxes from home!

Tomorrow is the Awana Grand Prix.  I want to be the race starter. Practice, practice.

Halloween is almost here. We've got to finish Tee's costume, the Orange Power Ranger.

The Grand Prix is soo much fun! I got to start and judge the races. The cars were unusual.

I've got time for a quick snack before handing out the trophies.  The kids are so excited about the races. 

On the way home from the race, we stopped to pick out pumpkins.  We're going to carve jack-o-lanterns! I've not done this before.

I'm helping Tee and his sister make their jack-0-lanterns.  It is messy, gooey, and dangerous.
First, Mom started cutting off the top of the pumpkins. The kids took turns finishing.  Then we scooped, scraped, and scooped out the slimy seeds and stringy pulp.
Tee let me draw the design on his pumpkin.  While he cut out the face, I helped sister scrape her design,  She's leaving the pulp so the light will shine through softly.

Next we separated the seeds and slime, washed the seeds, and dried them.  I sprinkled salt on them and put them in a slow oven.  Nummy! roasted pumpin seeds!
