Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - 26th April 2008
By: aliah
I decided to start with Dataran Merdeka (Merdeka Square) which also situated opposite of Sultan Abdul Samad Building. It's popular historical tourist spot in the city. Here is where the Malaya (Malaysia former name) flag was raised for the first time after Malaya received its Independence from the British when the clock striked 12 am on 31 August 1957.
I thought I saw Big Ben but its actually not. The clock was given by the British when they ruled Malaya back then. You can see British architecture around here and for a moment I thought I'm home

The City Theatre Hall (Panggung Bandaraya) located besides Sultan Abdul Samad Building. It was the court until last year. It also 'keep' many Malaysia histories as I was told by my host.
