Bun Traveller sent me to drakie who promised she would "set-me free" on my travels, not in the wild cos its nice to have a mummy to come home to. I am a kindly bear and love to have lots of fun and games. I want to see the world now I have been rescued. I have no travel plans as yet, but if you would like to host me please send me to drakie. Please could you answer in forum as she has had her hotmail blocked and ebay infiltrated... so she cannot get at her messages any other way. Thank you

hi mom!
when we visited a good friend of chrissi's, we came across the "murinsel"(=island of the mur).
it is a modern island in the river called "Mur" which runs through graz. on it, there is a cafe, it's really cool.
on the way back we went to a nice market where they sell flowers and fresh vegetable and fruits.
and i have seen a to graz really important sight today, the "Uhrturm" (clock tower). it is situated on the little mountain called "Schlossberg".
big hugs,
Galaxy Bear

Remscheid, Germany - 28th April 2008
By: completely*pink
Hey Mummy,
I arrived in Remscheid today. My envelope had a little hole, one of my ears showed through the envelope so everyone knew who has arrived there.
My new host told me that there is something wrong with the photos she has uploaded for my update. So we're only telling you that I arrived savely here and we'll have a look at the photo-thing tomorrow. We are all very tired. My new host is Alexandra, she celebrated her 16th birthday last week. Today her mother celebrated her birthday.
I'll tell you more tomorrow.
Bye

Remscheid, Germany - 1st May 2008
By: completely*pink
Hey Mummy,
today we have a holiday - Labour Day. None of us has to go to work or school. Tomorrow we have a so called bridging day - the day between a holiday and the weekend. My host Alex don't need to go to school, but her brother will have to go to work. Her mum has taken a day off work.
We had a very long, late breakfast. It was almost 11:00 am until my host and her brother got up. Their mom hat already prepared breakfast.
First we four TVs helped baking some bread rolls.
I was sitting next to Alex's plate with Angus. Alex made breadrolls with pork sausage and cheese for us.
Look, Alex was wearing a georgeous t-shirt. She bought it at the time of the last football world championship in summer 2006.
The weather was really bad today. It started with sunshine in the morning, but in the late afternoon it began to rain and even to hail. We planned to go outside, but the weather was too bad.
I hope it will be better soon.
Bye

Remscheid, Germany - 4th May 2008
By: completely*pink
Hi Mummy,
today the weather was really nice. In the afternoon Alex, her mother, Angus, Chompers and me took a walk. This street with those old houses is very close to my current home.
First we went into a little park in front of the police station. In the middle of the park they built a pillar with the crest of the town and the names of the partner town. These are Quimper in France, Presov in Slovakia, Pirna in Eastern Germany, Mragawo in Poland and Wansbeck in England.
We sat on a rocking horse.
Then we went into the muncipal park. This is the local observatory.
Here you can see more of the park.
We went through an old district called „Hasten“. Here are many beautiful old houses.
Here you can see a famous company, Keiper. They are building bucket seats and racing-style seats for mainstream manufacturers.
We came to a district called “Morsbachtal”. Here the creek Morsbach is running. In this district the first industrial settlements took place long ago. Along the creek tools were made, in the early centuries of industrial settlement the machines were run by water wheels.
Here we are all sitting on the balustrade of a bridge running across the creek.
From here you can walk into the forrest and follow the route along the historical “Gelpetal”. The river Gelpe is flowing through the valley, coming from Wuppertal. Here you can find an old sledgehammer which is now a museum. Around the hammer some beautiful old houses remained.
This is Alex!
We were sitting on the edge of a little standpipe. On the picture you cannot see the water flowing, but we all got a little bit wet. But that doesn’t matter because it was so warm.
On this plate the history of the company that you can see in the background, is explained. This plate belongs to a serie of such plates along a special trail along the creek and its industrial culture.
We rested on a bench in the sun.
We found a rock that was worked into the shape of an easy chair. Alex enjoyed the sun again and we did also.
These are special signs on a trail. The R in the circle is standing for the "Roentgenweg", a trail around the complete urban area of Remscheid, it is 63 km long. The triangle is standing for a route that was made in 2006 through the historic valleys, the W in the circle is standing for the trail around Wuppertal. This is the neighbour town. Where we were standing is the border between the towns. The trail around Wuppertal is about 130 km long. The N is a trail that we don't know.
On our way back home we walked along the “Werkzeugtrasse”, the route of tools. This is a lane built on an abandoned railway track. Along this route you can find signs and products of local industrial companys who sponsored this lane. This is a bench made of a huge screw clamp.
We all are tired now and I think I will go to sleep early today.
Bye
Galaxy Bear
