Wardrecques, France - 4th May 2008
By: Fleurdunord
Bonjour,
I'm on the way to Poland but i have to tell you about my last days in France. At Wardrecques, i had a good time, eating french fries, playing in the garden with lovely flowers or in the house with big toys. I send you some little luck from May ...

Bogas de Baixo, Portugal - 23rd August 2008
By: Swit
I wake up early today but it's already hot outside. I'm at Bogas de Baixo, a small village lost 260 Kms from Lisbon, on the interior of the country.
It looks nice, from here I can see the whole village. Some houses are still made with the traditional stones. Some have been covered by concrete, which is a pitty...
I can also see the valley.
I think I'll seat a bit on this old chimney and rest.
Ok, now I feel like get to know the trees. Time for my usual monkey business! First I'll check the grapes. They are still green!
But the apples can be eaten! I'll try one!
But first some gymnastic on the tree branches...
OK, enough kidding around, I almost felt this time!
These stones are actually the wall that indicates this is the end of the property. Here is the begining of the pine forest.
The florest floor also has a lot of stones!
And some pine cones, of course!
I think I'll not go any far, I might get lost! I'm not used to this strange land...
Back into the safety of the property, what do I see? An old, traditional oven! Here was where the bread and the meat was cooked.
Look! It still has some pine cones, with what the fire was started!
And the axe used to cut the wood is also here. I feel like I travel back in time...
Inside the house I also found some old items, like this petroleum lamp.
And this old picture, a replica of the original, that has almost 60 years old. My host's grandfather is there. It was taken when he was in his 30's and if he was alive now he would have 93 y.o.
The village annual festival is near the house. It's so colorful!
From here I have another perspective of the village.
But I must hurry now, the show with the traditional folklore dancing is about to begin! The singers are already singing.
And then the group of dancing.
But where I enjoyed most was helping at the bar. I even helped with some beers (Mummy, I didn't drink it, I swear! )
