She took us down a twisty road in the country to see something amazing...
A ski jump! In February every year, skiers from all over the world come to this place to practice for the Olympics.
We then headed for home but she stopped to show us ... Wisconsin Cows!

on the way back to La Crosse, WI, USA - 4th May 2009
By: Luv_Lioness
We stopped and learned something about the area. What the sign says:
This point is near the center of the 90,000 acre Coon Creek Watershed, the nation’s first large-scale demonstration of soil and water conservation. The area was selected for this purpose by the U.S. Soil Conservation Service (then Soil Erosion Service) in October 1933. Technicians of the S.C.S. and the University of Wisconsin pooled their knowledge with experience of local farm leaders to establish a pattern of land use now prevalent throughout the Midwest. Planned practices in effect include improvement of woodlands, wildlife habitat and pastures, better rotations and fertilization, strip cropping, terracing, and gully and stream bank erosion control. The outcome is a tribute to the wisdom, courage and foresight of the farm families who adopted the modern methods of conservation farming illustrated here.
Then we posed in some pretty grass with flowers.
Will write more when we go out again!

Hi!
I know it's been awhile since I've written but I am still here and today we were a help to her. We got to help out with some laundry that she had to do at the laundromat.
More soon ... I promise.

Today was a nice warm day so we went out for a treat, mainly because she said we were a great bunch of visitors !
A local landmark that even made it on to cable tv (she said if you get the Food channel it's on a show with a woman who went to college here, Sandra Lee). Rudy's is the best place! We got our food brought to us by rollerskating waitresses. We all split an order of onion rings and an ice cold root beer.

After our wonderful treat, we went down to Riverside Park and saw the different flowers blooming in the gardens since there wasn't much when we were down there before.
We then looked in on the fish in the pond.
The waterfall leads into the fish pond. It was nice and cool there!
Another picture at a cool place. A water fountain which represents all the rivers that flow into the Mississippi River.

Remember the blue bridges that we saw from Riverside Park? We went over one!! So I got to cross the Mississippi River!
This is me in Minnesota! Right over the border, it doesn't look much different than Wisconsin.
She had to show us that there are really two seasons here (haha): Winter and Road Construction. So we got to see the orange cones that limit driving lanes.
The final picture is us on the Interstate 90 coming back into La Crosse. (not that much to see)

Me & the other TV's went with Julie to work - was nice to see where Julie lives & go on the buses to get to work! We even went into the supermarket 'Tesco' on the way, we were very hungry - so much lovely chocolate!!!
It is a very nice office where Julie works & her collegues are great too - Claire Tamias & Pisoni have been here before so helped me settle in with a cup of coffee right away

Amsterdam, Holland - 18th June 2009
By: DeliciousJu
Hi Mum,
Great weekend .... was non stop, been nice just to relax for few days before write to you with what i have been doing .....
On Thursday we all helped Julie pack her bags ready for Amsterdam - had to make sure all the important bits were packed - i was in charge of checking she had charger for her camera, need to make sure get lots of pictures!!!!
We even helped Julie decide on her outfit for the the party we are going too on Satuday - Defqon 1, she showed us a video of the party on her laptop - wow!!!
Friday was the day we left, headed to Bristol Internation Airport to get out flight - it is only an hour long! We finally got t sit in people area with our own seat instead of being stuff in envelope when travelling, ha ha!!! Seatbelts on, checked the safety leaflet too - always best to be prepared!!
1st stop when we arrived to Amsterdam was the only windmill in the actual centre of Amsterdam - De Gooyer windmill, also known as the Funenmolen is now a charming brewery and popular gathering place. The Netherlands is famous for its windmills - Amsterdam only has six that have survived the times, of which the De Gooyer mill is the closest near the historic center. It towers over the Nieuwevaart Canal, Molen De Gooyer was built in 1725
Saturday we were up early & off to Defqon 1 - we were so excited!! We got there in no time on the trai, it was very very busy - must of been about 150,000 people at least!!! 8 differant rooms, lots of bars, food stalls & music everywhere - it was mad, was such a beautiful day too - the sun shined all day for us!!! We had such good fun, Julie bought us 'go fast' energy drink to keep us going through the day, he he
We were pooped on the way back to the hotel, ended up falling alseep in Julie's bag ..... needed to rest up for our final day in Amsterdam!!
We went for another walk around to see what sights we can find .... Julie took us for a coffee first to wake us up! We walked through the Red Light District & was the ladies in the windows 'working' - was very odd to see but glad we went through it as it is such a huge part of the lifestyle in Amsterdam! We also went to the Hemp Museum, Vodka Museum & Sex Museum! And not forgetting the 'coffee shops' where they sell & smoke marajuana ..... so much to see over here that i don't think i could see anywhere else - what a great day out!!
And then that was it, back home to England!! Will post pictures up soon, just got to get them re-sized!!
Resting up this week, then off to Museum this weekend to see a gallery of Banksy work - he is grafitit artist from Bristol - going to read up on him this week!!
Lots of Love, Natt) xxx

Bristol, England - 30th June 2009
By: DeliciousJu
Hi Mum,
Well i have had a lovely quiet weekend this weekend! Gulliver was around too to join in on what we were doing ..... Julie introduced us to just a few of her Tatty Teddy's - she has so many!! It was great to meet then & we all just sat & chatted for ages
Then we helped Julie do a bit of sewing on Saturday, she was making some amendments to a top & started making herself another top - very clever!
On Sunday me, Gulliver & the other toys went out & did some relaxing in the sun at the 'Down's'! The Down's is a massive area of green grass & trees - it gets really busy up there on nice days with people having BBQ's, playing football & relaxing
When we got home we were all really hungry so Julie suggested me & the other toys help her make 'bolognaise pasta'.
We warmed up the pan, added the mince beef, cooked it till it was nice & brown, then added chopped tomatoes, tomato puree, garlic puree & lots of herbs. We left it to simmer while we boiled the past & put the garlic bread in the over. We had to grate lots of cheese too - we had a few sneaky mouthfuls while we waited for the food to cook - the smell was making me so hungry!!!
10 minutes later & it was done - it was delicious! I was so full after all that food that it was straight to bed for me
Hope you are ok?
Lots of Love, Natt Noy
