Den Bosch, The Netherlands - 12th May 2008

By: Marjolein

Hello everybody! My name is Kasper. Marjolein saved me at the souvenirshop of the Omniversum in The Hague. In this cinema they always play movies from all over the world on the huge screen they got. Sometimes I sneaked into the cinema to look at a movie about elephants in Africa, farao's in Egypt or the Grand Canyon. It made me want to travel the world really bad! So Marjolein showed me the ToyVoyagerswebsite. The tv she is hosting at the moment, Nick, told me all about his adventures and now I really, really, really, really want to go! And because I'm really curious, while I'm traveling, I want to know everything there is to know! I hope someone will host me so I can see the world!

Travellist:
I will go to London with RikeH!!

Hamburg, Germany - 2nd December 2009

By: RikeH

Hello Mum,

Yesterday I arrived in Germany – and met a friendly bunny called Dicker Kumpel.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1354.jpg

He introduced me to some other nice guys, we will make a trip together next week.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1355.jpg

But today 3 of us make a short trip to Hamburg with RikeH. We went there with a new train.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1375.jpg

We looked out of the window – it is a beautiful winterview – I am not sure, if you can see it – but I saw it.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1378.jpg

I visited the place, where RikeH works – there are some funny guys.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1379.jpg

I helped RikeH to do her work.

Look, what I wrote :

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1381.jpg

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1387.jpg

We found the first Christmas Tree :

Sόlfeld, Germany - 6th December 2009

By: RikeH

Hello Mum,

Today is St, Nicholas Day in Germany – maybe all over the world. We don't know that. It means that you have to clean your boots – and put them next to the door. Then they will be filled with delicious sweets.

We all wanted to do it, but we found out that we don't have boots and were very sad. But then we found out that RikeH's Mum helped us – and bought this beautiful boot for us. And we loved the sweets inside.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1431.jpg

In the afternoon – after eating a lot of sweets, we visited RikeH's mum – Hummel. She had a lot of Christmas things – so we could make a lot of photos. First with the Advent wreath.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1436.jpg

A friendly nutcracker.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1440.jpg

Beautiful things out of wood.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1443.jpg

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1449.jpg

Then we visited some angels – some of them are an orchestra and play wonderful music.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1459.jpg

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1464.jpg

Here you can see all of us with a very famous person – Rudolf the red-nose reindeer.
He is living here – it is so exciting!

Hamburg, Airport, Germany - 7th December 2009

By: RikeH

Hello Mum,

Today we started our trip to London. I was so excited. First we took two photos inside the Airport.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1483.jpg

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1484.jpg

Then we went outside and watched the airplanes.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1490.jpg

And now I am IN one of the planes – it is amazing!!! I was able to look out of the window – we were really high above the ground.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1500.jpg

Here you see all of us together!

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1503.jpg

In the evening we arrived in our new home. But we were too tired to make more photos.

Yours
Kasper

London, England - 8th December 2009

By: RikeH

Hi Mum!

We started to explore the city of London. And because of the great weather we jumped into the London Eye. Here you see me inside.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1514.jpg

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1515.jpg

This is me on front of one of the other cabins!

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1533.jpg

We had so much fun  - and after the 'flight' we went to the houses of Parliament with the tower called Big Ben.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1543.jpg

Later we had this great look at the London Eye.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1550.jpg

We saw the changing of the Horse Guards.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1562.jpg

At the end we made a stop at Trafalgar Square – but it was too cold to take a bath in the fountain.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1586.jpg

What a great day in London!

Love Kasper

London, England - 9th December 2009

By: RikeH

Good morning Mum!

We will visit the Queen today – or at least watch the changing of the guards in front of the Buckingham Palace. This is normal for tourists – there were hundreds or maybe thousands, but only a few ToyVoyagers.

Well, on our way to the Palace we saw the Parliament again – this time it looked even better – so we made another photo.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1607.jpg

After it we went through a park – some of us saw squirrels.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1623.jpg

We reached the Palace. Although we were very early, there were so many people.
You can see me in front of the Palace:

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1636.jpg

And this is the monument next to it.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1635.jpg

Then it started : many musicians came and some guards.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1647.jpg

After the ceremony we went to visit the Tower of London.

On the way we found Julius Caesar.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1671.jpg

This was me in front of the Tower:

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1681.jpg

We saw the juwels of the Queen, but we were not allowed to take photos inside. But we found this friendly knight. He was so nice and hold me in his hand. And you can see a part of the Tower Bridge behind us.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1694.jpg

Before we went home we had this great view of the Tower Bridge.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1708.jpg

Back home we talked a lot about our adventures.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1603.jpg

We have a strange white Christmas Tree here.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1598.jpg

Look – there is Marshall sitting with Mandy Sheep. We others think that something is strange with Marshall.
He is such an unusual sheep.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1721.jpg

We watched both from the other side.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1719.jpg

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1722.jpg

Then Dicker Kumpel decided to ask Marshall about his sometimes strange behaviour.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1723.jpg

He told us that he is a wolf and not a sheep.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1724.jpg

First nothing happened – but then :

A Wolf???????

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1725.jpg

Most of us were very scared, only Lucan was cool – and stayed next to Marshall and talked with him. He told us that he is a friendly wolf and didn't find the right words to tell us that he am not a sheep.

Well that is not a problem. Now we know why he was such a strange sheep – and we call him  our friend, Marshall the Wolf.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1726.jpg

What another exciting day !

Greetings
Kasper

London, England - 10th December 2009

By: RikeH

Hi Mum,

We started our day and bought a ticket for a big bus. This was fun. First we decided where we wanted do go to.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1733.jpg

We drove over the Tower Bridge. We all love the Tower Bridge.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1741.jpg

When we went into the Hyde Park to  visit the Christmas Market. It is called Winter Wonderland here.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1767.jpg

We saw a nice place where people danced on ice... that is strange...

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1773.jpg

Hey, we met some Santa Clauses – I thought that there is only one in the world?

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1780.jpg

In the evening we ran around in the flat – and wanted to show some more of the funny things in this house.
Look in the staircase.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1891.jpg

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1893.jpg

We had two funny tables in the flat. The round one shows a map of the busses in London.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1917.jpg

The other one had a plan of the Tubes on it. Dicker Kumpel showed us, where our nearest station was.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1919.jpg

A pillow from London:

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1935.jpg

A curtain of London:

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1936.jpg

and a funny teapot.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1937.jpg

Maybe the British people are sometimes a little weird??? But I like it here.

Hi Mum,

Another sunny day in London. We started it in a wonderful market hall.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1803.jpg

We saw this very big monument – called the Monument.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1812.jpg

Hey – all of us in front of the Tower Bridge – we love the Tower Bridge!!!

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1814.jpg

This wonderful church is called St. Pauls Cathedral.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1824.jpg

We went on a boat trip on the river Thames.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1844.jpg

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1845.jpg

It was dark outside – and we asked RikeH to made a last photo of us in London. You cannot believe where we wanted it. It is such a wonderful bridge.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1863.jpg

We had such a great time in London. But tomorrow we will go back home to Germany.

Hamburg, Germany - 18th December 2009

By: RikeH

Hello Mum,

We went to Hamburg today – because Dicker Kumpel wanted to show us a cruise ship. He will make a cruise on it next summer. How amazing.

First we had a look over the port.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1994.jpg

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1995.jpg

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_2004.jpg

The ship on the right side is the one for Dicker Kumpel. It is called Albatros. I thought that would be a better name for a plane...

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_2007.jpg

We saw two other ships. The Rickmer Rickmers and the Cap San Diego.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_2036.jpg

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_2039.jpg

On our way back we saw these beautiful Christmas decorations in the main station.

Sόlfeld, Germany - 24th December 2009

By: RikeH

Merry Christmas Mum,

On the 24th of December the people celebrate Christmas in Germany. In the North it is Santa Claus, who brings the gifts, in the south it is the Christ Child. Because we are in the North, normally we have Santa Claus – but this year it was different – just have a look.

This is the Christmas Tree – I really love it!

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_2190.jpg

Under the Christmas Tree there were many Christmas Cards from all over the world.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_2181.jpg

Another nice Christmas decoration!

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_2135.jpg

We all sat together and RikeH read the Nativity story for us. It is about Maria, Josef and their child Jesus.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_2150.jpg

What a surprise – I were able to visit them – in a stable...

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_2134.jpg

Then the important time of the evening came. The gifts!!! Four Christmas people came – a Christmas Bear, Rudolph, the famous Rendeer, a big Snowman – and Santa Claus. Hm – Santa Claus??? It was a Santa Bunny. Maybe because Dicker Kumpel is living here?

Well, I told a Christmas-poem and Santa Bunny gave me a present.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_2155.jpg

I opened it – some sweets. I love Christmas.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_2164.jpg

I received another gift – it was a puzzle.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1943.jpg

It was not easy...

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_1944.jpg

But I solved it!

When we all got our gifts, we sat together and sang the wonderful German Christmas Songs. I especially loved ‘Laίt uns froh und munter sein.’

I hope that you had a nice Christmas time, although I didn’t celebrated it with you?

Love
Kasper

Hi Mum,

It is New Year's Eve – and we will celebrate it. Here are the gifts for our host for this evening.

The clothes for the bottle were so funny – I tried it out,

We had something delicious to eat. It was called Chesse-Fondue.

Later we had a great dessert, too. A kind of Tiramisu.

We played an interesting game – and I won it!

When we came close to midnight, we had a glass of Champagne and something delicious called 'Berliner'.

After it we went out onto the balcony and watched the fireworks.
