By: katjaintenerife
Hi!
I've finally got a bit of a flight sheet for myself:
1) MarionJ, Tallinn, Estonia. Will be leaving to her in the next few days
2) Drakie, Devon, UK. Mid June
3) Kira1997, Australia. Mid July
4) ????
5) Gingermuggins, Australia. After September
At the moment I'm at Katja's work place. She works in a small private clinic as an interpreter and her shifts are 24 hour long so we can't update the photos until tomorrow...

Tartu, Estonia - 25th June 2008
By: MarionJ
Oooohhh!
It has been raining like crazy here. Well, all over Europe almost. They say here that a typical estonian summer contains storms and many rainy days. Well, they finally arrived
Has also been quite chaotic and hectic here, my host is organizing some youth camps, and kids seem to be almost impossible to get in touch with. :P
But we had a chance to visit Tartu, the secong biggest city in Estonia. It's a very beautiful city, also a former Hansa-city (in the medieval times). Because of the great university there, Tartu is said to be a city of students. It's a place for culture and intelligence, my host says. It's small, but wonderful. Anyone ever in Estonia, you should visit it for sure. The busride tkaes only 2h25min and during the drive you see only forests. Actually, I've heard it's like that all over the country Forests and some smaller villages-towns here and there. Oh, and the gas stations too, of course.
The pedestrian bridge near the market (which was closed unfortunately, because it was a national holiday - Midsummer's night)
Then, the river of Emajõgi (Mother's river) that runs through Tartu
This pig stands in front of the old market house, that works still - with Woezel and Veggies
The town square and town hall
A famous statue of kissing students (of course, who else?)
A wierd crooked house. Although inside it's level with the street, thankfully
Oh, and the famous University of Tartu
Last, but not least - the theatre of Vanemuine. Theatre is very important and popular in Estonia
Ok, so this was me (with Woezel and Veggies) in Tartu. Will be visiting something else, hopefully. And then off to Devon!
Cheers!

Paunküla, Estonia - 28th June 2008
By: MarionJ
Oh, well. As you're reading this, I'm no longer on the grounds of Estonia.
But at the end of June I had the chance to visit another place. At first my host thought Paunküla (ü- for finnish it's "y", and to others - like "über" in german :P) is in the south of Estonia, but then realised that it's not very far from Tallinn, hehe. But beautiful, none the less. There was a three-day event for youth centers all across Estonia. Every center had sent some youngsters and youthworkers. They had different activities there, different sports, games, competitions and stuff. Also many workshops, like a mosaic-making one we attended. Also a circus workshop where you could learn to ride a monocycle (or what's the word for it) and make baloon animals.
Here are some pictures we managed to take..
A little sunbathing..
I was tired after a day of all those games and competitions
Some performances and a small concert
On the way back to Tallinn with a friend I like to call Puddle, hehe
Well, that was it. Goodbye from here and toodles!
Ch.

Honiton, UK - 9th July 2008
By: drakie
Well here I am in Honiton in Devon. Lots of green fields and we are only 15 mins from the sea, I guess its like being at home in Tenerife, one big difference, its usually raining here ha ha ha.... and cold, and misty... oh well.
Well I have met Miss E, well actually the cheek of the girl she boldly sat on my back and stayed there, I must also say she tends to hog the camera a bit, I try to get in then her face appears. Well I will just have to give her a push.
