Ipswich, Queensland, Australia - 28th March 2009
By: crizle
I have been here in Queensland all through March.
Because my host is ill we have been staying home, but I have had lots of friends to play with.
Last weekend we went up to Toowoomba on the Darling Downs.
We visited the Queensland 150 year monument and some pretty parks.
I liked being up high at the lookout too.

We had a nice day out in Brisbane today.
We went to Southbank and sat by the river.
It was pretty there with all the Bouganvillia in bloom.

Remscheid, Germany - 8th June 2009
By: olgamaus
Hi Mummy,
Katja showed me the city hall today. At the weekend the weather was really bad. Today the sun came out again.
Here you can see me in front of the city hall. The building was originally built in 1906, was nearly destroyed in World War II and was rebuilt later in a more modern style. The tower is 48 m high.
In front of the city hall the farmer's market is taking place twice a week. Here you can see a pillar with a lion, the heraldic animal of Remscheid.
There is an entrance to the shopping mall opposite of the city hall.
Bye

Remscheid-Hasten, Germany - 18th June 2009
By: olgamaus
Hi Mummy,
in the afternoon we took a walk to the district Hasten, one of the oldest districts of Remscheid. Little mole Herbie accompanied Katja and me. He came here from Florida today.
You can see many of the typical houses here. In this region, the "Bergisches Land", many houses are timberframed houses or covered with slate. Also typical are green shutters. Due to its natural conditions, Remscheid's districts are not close together, but they extend into the surrounding forrests and valleys. You can see everywhere, that the whole municipal area is surrounded by lots of green and forrests.
We decided to visit a friend and ask her if she wanted to accompany us for a walk.
Our path is leading along allotment gardens. I really like this overgrowed path.
Here are more pretty old houses, built close together. I think nobody like the idea of a fire here. For fire engines it es almost impossible to reach those houses.
We were waiting for Katja's friend outside, when a cat came walked by. I was scared to death! I know that my Mummy's cats are really friendly, but this cat is a stranger for me.
This cat wasn't interested in me at all. I'm glad about that.
Can you see the factory in the background of the next picture? This is where we started our walk.
On our way home we went to a recently opened garden center.
Here are funny shaped trees ...
... and here are several sorts of stones, which you can use for your garden paths or simply as a decoration.
Could you imagine to put blue glass into your garden ?!
Later we had to buy a few things to prepare a melon sorbet. I don't have the slightest idea what this could be, but we'll see.
Bye

travelling ..., to China - 23rd June 2009
By: olgamaus
Hi Mummy,
I'm on my way to China now.
Before I left we made one last pretty photo with our Hibiscus.
I hope that my journey to China won't last too long.
Love
