Hi Mom,
today we went to the Nordbahntrasse once more, this time we wanted to walk into the opposite direction, towards Elberfeld.





Our new guest, MrBear from sunny California accompanied us.



Most of the railway tracks were removed, one stayed for handcar trips.



You can find signs telling you to remove your dog's poo everywhere. (What about bunny poo? - Katja said is was too small to be noticed )



The next "station" ...



We found fondly created gardens along the route.



What a funny flower pot!



This seems to be a handcar for teddy bears



In a tunnel we found gorgeous graffito.





We reached a very special bridge than - the Lego-bridge. Katja promised that we would visit it on street level when we will visit the Botanical garden next time.



Can you see the green hill in the background? This is Hardt with the Botanical garden, I already visited this place in early April.



We walked and walked ...

Look at all those pretty houses.



We reached another bridge than. The other bridge you can see in the photo is the A46 motorway.

You can also find historic factory buildings along the track.



Here we had to leave the Nordbahntrasse. Beyond this former station it is not finished yet.



We decided to walk downwards to the Schwebebahn to get back to the car we had left in Barmen. We walked through a district with extremely lovely houses.







Hey, this is the Kaiserwagen, a historic Schwebebahn train!

You can see it barely because it is not a regular train.



This is the station "Robert-Daum-Platz".

From here we went to Barmen where we found the car soon.

Hi Mummy,

since I would have too many pictures to upload since this website was closed, I decided to show you some of my adventures in each month.

On June 6th I visited Wuppertal again, the Botanical Garden with its greenhouses, Elise Tower, flower beds and the Hardt Park this time.











Of course we visited the famous nearby Lego Bridge.



On June 7th we met friends in Dortmund:



First we had lunch.





After a short trip though the city centre we went to Romberg Park, a really lovely place in this crowded city.

On June 11th we celebrated my birthday. The party was  taking place in Strunki's garden.







Katja did not only create a carrot torte for me, but also a carrot soup.

I even got a present.







We visited Ohligser Heide in Solingen once, a moorland landscape.













We spent most of the month searching for an apartment in Wupertal. Katja was fed up with spending so much time to get to her new work place, so she decided to move to Wuppertal. At the end of the month she found the perfect apartment in the middle of the city with a small balcony.

On June 28th a fantastic event was taking place in Wuppertal: Der Lange Tisch. This event is celebrated every five years.









We took a short walk along river Wupper where Katja showed us some artwork. I have seen some of those people already in a park in Barmen, in early Summer





The weather became bad then.





After listening to this band we went home by train.

Hi Mummy,

in July we started to paint the walls in Katja's new apartment. The carpet was replaced by another floor in a wood design.











We were too busy for any more adventures for a longer time. Moving was adventurous enough

Hi Mommy,

in September we went to Mallorca in Spain. We intended some hiking tours. We had rented an apartment in Paguera in the South-West of Mallorca, a really lovely place. Departure was on September 26th.



This was the view from our balcony, across the city of Paguera.



We started one of the hiking tours in Port d'Andratx.













In Sollér... this trip was leading from a water reservoir in the mountains downhill to the valley.

in November it felt like late summer

We went to the city and had sushi for lunch.









We took several longer walks since we had this lovely weather, this time at Scharpenacken, where I had been before in April.



Another trip led us to Barmen.

in December we visited the Christmas markets in Wuppertal.





As well we went to Dortmund again.





I tried Katja's eggnogg



We did not bake cookies, but made delicious florentines.



After Christmas we finally it finally snowed! Here is the view from our balcony.

Happy New Year!

We are having fantastic weather and we want to go out. We planned to visit one of Wuppertal most famous landmarks, a water tower which is called "Atadösken". This tower was built in 1927 and is 43 m high. Ata is a scrubbing powder and was sold in the 1920-years in a packaging wich was shaped like the water tower. Of course Atadösken is only a nick name, not the official one Here you can read a bit more about it. The water tower is situated on the opposite, which means Northern slope of Wupper valley and we can see it everytime we leave the house. Close to it there is also a television tower, we hope to see them both.

We met Strunki and PieksiHH!



We started our walk in an allotment garden. Hell, all the paths and roads were icy!





We found an abandonded sledge here in the park.



Soon the water tower came into sight. Can you see the pink tower?



While we walked closer the television tower also came into sight.



There it is already!









Those two towers are really close together.





We walked back to the car then.





This is one of 469 (yes - four hundred sixty nine) public stairs in Wuppertal, 23 of them under monument protection, like this one - Hamburger Treppe.



That's all for today. Katja promised that I would have to climb a lot of stairs in the next weeks

Hi Mummy,

today we took a walk with our neighbour and her dog Jule. We often take Jule out for walks. This time we had planned to take a route through several allotment areas.



Like in Remscheid you can find allotments all along the steep slopes of the valley. You  have a great overview across the city.







This is the university. You can see it like this only from the walking path in the forest.





Almost home ... Katja is living in this quarter, the so-called Südstadt. Large parts of Wuppertal were destroyed in World War II, most houses had to be re-built afterwards.

Hi Mom,
it snowed again In the morning we went to town to buy some things for the weekend.



The whole area in front of the station is a giant builing site. It will be so for the next three years as this place will be completely created newly.



In the afternoon we went to the forest to take a long walk with our neighbour and her dog. In a nearby park the kids were sledding.





We enjoyed the snow

Hi Mommy,

today Katja had only to work until noon. In the afternoon we took the neighbour's dog out on a long walk in the forest. The weather was fantastic!



Out route led us through several allotment areas.







MrBear and I enjoyed the sunshine.





The large building in the foreground is a school, in the background you can see the valley of river Wupper with the district Barmen.



Back in Elberfeld where Katja is living ...

We will try to call PieksiHH this evening to talk about travelling home toghether.

Hi Mommy,

today we to Wuppertal-Barmen after work, it was almost dusk. Of course the Schwebebahn is running through the city here also.





We found a place to see both Schwebebahn and the railway tracks at once.



It was rather cold, so we hurried home than.

Hi Mommy,

on Thursday PieksiHH came with me so we can travel home together.

We said good-bye to the ferrets. Here you can see Lotte, Zähnchen and Shiva, having their breakfast.



I collected some souvenirs during my stay with Katja
I enjoyed my one-year-stay, but now I am happy to come home to you.

Hello friends,

Together with my brothers and sisters I am on a Cruise Ship. And what are you doing on a Ship? Yes, relaxing. But what is more important – we wanted to have a party!



We knew, where the good drinks were!



There! But they were high above us, what shall we do?



Good news – HelgaHH can fly, so she flew to the drinks…



…threw it to us and jumped back to us.



We brought it back to our place and everybody chose his or her famous drink.



Look, what I chose. And I took some delicious chocolate!



Well – it was fun – I shouldn’t say more.

Hello friends,

You see me on a bus – exploring Muscat, a nice town in Oman. There were some fortresses on the hill.



We stopped at the beach and had a nice view.



The clouds looked darker than they were.



This was the famous and beautiful opera house.



We drove back into the city and saw the clock tower.



We drove through some hills and saw the sea again – this time with a small port.



Our last stop was next to the palace of Muscat. I loved the way to it.


Behind me you can see the Al Alam Palace.



When I turned I saw small towers in the hill.



Near to the Palace there were other nice buildings – can you see me in the flowers?





Look, I had my own tourist entry permit.



Back to our ship we saw this funny building on the top of a hill.

Hello friends,

I have been in Norway. We had a wonderful holiday home – with great views and a lot of snow!





My siblings and I enjoyed the sunshine.



One day we went to another Fjord today – the way to it was beautiful.





What a wonderful place.



Behind the curve was the Grotfjord.



A really nice place!





Back home we sat at the fireplace!
