Toulouse, France - 10th June 2018

By: Natalina

Hi Mom,

This week-end in Toulouse, we've been lucky to have an acceptable weather.
I visited the famous Basilica of St. Sernin, which is the largest Romanesque church in Europe and the Capitole which houses the town hall. The wedding hall is beautiful. There are sculptures and paintings everywhere...

Toulouse is definitely a beautiful city, full of treasures to discover ...

Lots of love

Puymirol, France - 17th June 2018

Hi Mom,

Today, in France, it was Father's Day. We paid a little visit to Gigi, Natalina's dad. Violette, my new friend, accompanied us. We drank a Kir Royal (it's champagne with crème de cassis). Wow, it was delicious!
I also took a bath of lavender flowers and became friend with the owls of the house. It was still raining, but I really had a good time...

Love

Toulouse, France - 21st June 2018

Dear Mum,

On that first day of summer, the weather was finally on our side.
In order to find a bit of freshness, I went to the Japonese Garden, which is a real haven of peace in this big city.
First, I saw the monument in honour of Carlos Gardel, the king of the tango who was born in the street which borders the park.
Then, I met the Zen Master, Taisen Deshimaru and visited the Tea-house. Oh, I really love this place!
And on the way home, I took a merry-go-round ride.
What a wonderful afternoon!
Lots of love

Toulouse, France - 24th June 2018

Hello Mum,

Today, I went through the streets of the historic center. I saw several examples of regional architecture. Did you know that Toulouse is also called Pink City (la ville rose), because of the color of its building bricks?
In Rue Saint-Rome, stands the old tower and private mansion (1533) of Pierre Serta, who was a Capitoul, one of the city’s masters.
During the Renaissance, Toulouse enjoyed great economic prosperity, especially thanks to pastel culture (Isatis tinctoria) and the prosperous pastel merchants displayed their power and prestige in building magnificent town houses. We've got a fine exemple of this affluence with the Hotel d'Assézat (1555) who houses nowadays the Bemberg fondation (a nice museum).
You can also find here all kinds of products made from the pastel plant.
On the way back, I passed by the church of the Jacobins and the tower of the former college of Foix, which was in the 13th century the belfry of the convent of the Cordeliers. What a city full of What a city rich in history! And the advantage of being a little mouse is that you can sneak all over.
..😉

Lots of love

Toulouse, France - 8th July 2018

Hello Mum,

The sun shines on Toulouse (and it's very strong, I must be careful not to get sunburned...), so I took the opportunity to visit the city illuminated by this wonderful summer light. I walked past the St Etienne's Cathedral, the tower of St Augustin Museum and quench my thirst at the different fountains. My favourite is the Goudouli's one... Then, I bought "La Dépêche", the daily newspaper of the region, to inform me about the entertainment program and I decided to see an outdoor movie. But it was to soon, so I hanged around the Cinémathèque, got a merry-go-round- ride and took a trip on the tourist train. That was so exciting !
I have so much fun here...
These bunches of violets are for you, Mommy dearest.

Lots of love ❤️
