At home (Graz), Austria - 20th April 2009

OK, here I am!
My name is Lupus-Tigger. A bit about me: As you can see, I'm a Tigger-tiger.
I'm a Lupus-Tigger because my Mom has Lupus and my journey is her project for the upcoming World-Lupus-Day on May 10th. Lupus is a chronic, autoimmune disease that can damage any part of the body (skin, joints, and/or organs inside the body).
So I decided to help raising Lupus awareness by traveling the world and telling my hosts a bit about Lupus.
Maybe I get the chance to meet other hosts with Lupus.
As a benefit for my being an ambassador, I get to travel the world, meet new friends and visit as many places of interest as possible!
I hope that I can visit a friendly Toy-Host soon!
My bags are packed and I'm ready to go (as soon as I get my t-shirt...).
See you soon,
Lupus-Tigger

Sülfeld, Germany - 4th May 2009
By: RikeH
Hello Mum,
today I arrived here in Sülfeld at Rikes home.
RikeH, Murph, Cassandra and Super Grover were so happy to see me.
Then I saw the flowers, that the TVs planted this week-end -
and visited some funny birds.
Will write later - now I have to talk to the other TVs.
Love
Lupus-Tigger

Hello,
my name is Lupus-Tigger, because I want to tell about the disease Lupus. Today is a special day:
On the 10th of May it's International World Lupus Day, which has the goal of bringing more awareness over this chronic disease that affects over 5 million people worldwide. If you don't know what Lupus is, here's a quick summary:
Lupus is a chronic, autoimmune disease that can damage any part of the body (skin, joints, and/or organs inside the body). Chronic means that the signs and symptoms tend to last longer than six weeks and often for many years. In lupus, something goes wrong with your immune system, which is the part of the body that fights off viruses, bacteria, and germs ("foreign invaders," like the flu). Normally our immune system produces proteins called antibodies that protect the body from these invaders. Autoimmune means your immune system cannot tell the difference between these foreign invaders and your body’s healthy tissues ("auto" means "self") and creates autoantibodies that attack and destroy healthy tissue. These autoantibodies cause inflammation, pain, and damage in various parts of the body.
Lupus occurs nine times more often in women than in men, especially between the ages of 15 and 50, but it can also affect men, children, and teenagers develop it too. To learn more about Lupus, check Wikipedia or the Lupus Foundation of America.
Bye
Lupus-Tigger
PS : Ich wünsche Dir einen schönen Muttertag - auch ohne mich !

Sülfeld, Germany - 21st May 2009
By: RikeH
Dear Mum,
today two new TVs arrived here. It was just the right time for them to arrive. Rike planned a nice party with many games today, because three of us will travel to our next destinations this week-end. Now it is a Farewell- and a Welcome-Party. Great !
For the Party we had two teams. I am in the team for the big TVs.
First we played billiard. That is not easy….so we moved the billiard cue together.
The next game was darts. We all tried to have a 180, but that is not possible for a little ToyVoyager. My best result was 106 – that is good, too.
After these sportive games, we played a game, named Ligretto. It is a very fast game and we had so much fun !
Our referee was a very funny Toy – it is called long hippo. He counted all the points from the different games and believe it or not, we are all winners. What a wonderful evening.
We had a wonderful sky - can you see me in front of it?
On Saturday Super Grover, Murph and Cassandra will leave us, but I am sure, that I will have a nice time with Bree, Kunigunde and Penny.
Yours
Lupus-Tigger
