Kata Tjuta, Australia - 12th May 2010

By: gittehh

Hi mum,

today we started our "Camping in Style" Trip  in Australias RED CENTER.
At first we visited the lump of rocks that the Aboriginals named Kata Tjuta and the white AUstralians The Olgas.

We climbed around the rocks and had a lot of fun.
But don´t worry, I was very careful as I promised you to be.
On the end of the hike we were very thirsty and a little bit exhausted.
It was a great day.
Tomorrow we will visiting the famous Uluru and I´m very  curious to see the rock.

Uluru, Australia - 13th May 2010

By: gittehh

Hello mum,

I´ve been around the Uluru  the whole day.
It was so amazing!!!
First we went to see the rock during sunrise. Afterwards we had breakfast and than started for a walk around the Uluru. Because the aboriginals don´t like people to climb on the rock we decided to respect their wish. The walk was great and we saw a lot of places with old paintings and some where the native Australians had lifed , like kitchen caves and caves to give birth .It was very interesting.
After being back in the camp we had lunch and  some rest. We were back to the rock in time to see the sunset. The rock glows in different colors and it was soooo great to be part of that event.

On the end of the day I was very tired and slept very well in our tent.
Because gittehh damaged her camera after this trip, I can´t send you more pictures. I´ll tell you everything that happens when I´m back home.

Love you
Tobbi

Hamburg, Germany - 3rd June 2010

By: RikeH

Hi Mum,

your daughter met GitteHH today – and I travelled home with her. But before I visited Hamburg. Here you see me in front of the Michel. You know the church – I know it, you have a TV named like the church.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202010%20a/IMG_4445.jpg

And there was this funny statue next to it. We have aliens like this on our planet, too.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202010%20a/IMG_4457.jpg

Later we went to the Port. There were a lot of ships.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202010%20a/IMG_4463.jpg

The white ship is the Cap San Diego – in the other direction you can see a big sailing ship – called Rickmer Rickmers.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202010%20a/IMG_4482.jpg

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202010%20a/IMG_4483.jpg

Two other nice views of the port – I really loved it.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202010%20a/IMG_4488.jpg

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202010%20a/IMG_4489.jpg

I will travel to my next host – and lucky me – I found another ToyVoyager (Apelsinas), who will go to the same host. So we decided to travel together. He is really friendly. I am sure we will have fun together.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202010%20a/IMG_4494.jpg

Bye for now , now I am on my way to the UK.

Love
Tobbi

Kings Lynn, England - 10th June 2010

By: LittleBlogFrog

Hi Mum,

My host had to pop into town today for a course, I decided to go along
for the journey just incase we had time for a bit of exploring afterwards.

The weather was unfortunately very grey and it kept raining on and off
so we both were a little disappointed that our exploring was a bit limited -
However I asked my host if she could help me post the few pictures we
did manage to get....

Here I am at Kings Lynn Docks, this is the River Ouse...  dont worry mum
I stayed away from the edge as I didnt want to fall in!

http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4022/4688016683_e08333cdc0.jpg

...We then made our way to Saturday Market Place to have a look at the
buildings round there, here are my two favourites...The first is called St
Margarets Church and dont be fooled by the picture, the building is HUGE
with beautiful windows and as well as a normal clock it displays a moon
clock that reveals the phases of the moon as well as the times of Kings
Lynn high tide.

http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4054/4688016667_d7b099dfdf.jpg

...On the other side of the road from this is a beautiful building known as
the Guild Hall....Another very big building... but not as big as the church!...

http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4029/4688016671_40353eedcd.jpg

We really wanted to get more photos today but unfortunately weather was not on our side....
we're hoping for good TV-exploring weather this weekend...
keep your fingers crossed for us mum

Miss you, Tobbi x

Kings Lynn (Norfolk), England - 11th June 2010

By: LittleBlogFrog

Hi Mum,

Well after our not very successful first visit to town due to the weather,
we ventured over to Kings Lynn again today. The weather still wasnt
too great but the rain kept away so thats a plus!

We decided to visit 'The Walks' which is a huge well-kept beautiful park
outside the town centre.. it is the only surviving 18th century town
walk in Norfolk...

http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4018/4693010950_0a34285fc9.jpg

http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1292/4693010952_e8d4ca7919.jpg

Here I am sitting watching the world go by on one of the park benches....
It was very quiet and peaceful... - The second picture is of an archway
in the middle of the park called the Gannock Arch which originally was
an entrance to it many many years ago.....

http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1292/4693010956_b24d70cb9d.jpg

Here is the Gannock Arch in full view...

http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4049/4693010960_49fa7622f2.jpg

..Immediately after going through the arch you are on a bridge.... this is
the view from it... its really pretty mum...

http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1293/4693010962_67d217d6f7.jpg

Its a little hard to show you in photos how big this park actually is but
this was our last view walking out of it - St Johns Church. It was at this
point that my host and I spotted a squirrel running up a nearby tree...
we desperately tried to get a photo but he was too fast!

http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4025/4693010964_1fe04fa1bc.jpg

Well mum, this is what I have been up to today... I hope to post again
very soon but until then, miss you, Love Tobbi x

Pentney (Norfolk), England - 15th June 2010

By: LittleBlogFrog

Hi Mum,

Well after our high hopes for the weather this past weekend we only
managed to get a bit of sun on the Saturday... We spent it at a local
village BBQ.. it was very nice... lots of yummy food and we all made
paper boats to sail in the river.. unfortunately my host didnt have a
chance to take photos but I really enjoyed myself.

Today, my host has been swimming at the local pool... I decided to
go for the journey and helped her pack her bag before hopping into
it myself!  :)

http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4027/4705169415_5c4dedd986.jpg

....When we got there I decided it would be best to stay with the other
TVs in the changing room locker as I didnt want to get wet!

When we got back home my host let me play in the front garden for a
while.. she knows I like tree-climbing :)

http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1299/4705205517_d27db5572b.jpg

Well mum, I hope to post again very soon.
Miss you, Tobbi x

Peterborough , England - 18th June 2010

By: LittleBlogFrog

Hello!

Its me mum :)

Well today, we ventured over to Peterborough to do a bit of
shopping and have a wander around... we had to go on a
double decker bus to get there... my host let us sit on the
top deck, right at the back, to look out of the window.

On the way out of Kings Lynn we passed the South Gate...

http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4020/4711564359_e219aa0808.jpg

It is quite a long journey to get there and we had to go
through a town called Wisbech... heres a pretty church
we spotted on the way to Wisbech bus station...

http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4036/4711564367_fb5e17356b.jpg

..We had to stop in Wisbech to pick up more people..

http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1272/4711564369_c2f882316b.jpg

...then we were on our way again...

http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4035/4711564377_9ce75be4de.jpg

http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4017/4711564383_16420e1392.jpg

....When we arrived in Peterborough we headed straight for
the shopping centre.. My host bought a few postcards and
a little gift for me to take home with me after my trip :).

http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4052/4711564387_7e37fd8ae8.jpg

After lunch we explored the area outside the shopping
centre and found these fountains ..

http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4025/4711568199_7ca0ca53cc.jpg

..We walked through the archway shown in the background
of the picture above and found this... Peterborough Cathedral...
it was HUGE!

Well, I'll be in touch again soon mum!

By: LittleBlogFrog

Hello!

Today we ventured down to the seaside at Great Yarmouth.
Our first stop was at the Sea Life Sanctuary.... I spotted some
Penguins there!

http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4064/4716060413_3cc949a7bf.jpg

..my favourite part was walking through this tunnel with lots of sea life
creatures swimming over my head... including a Sea turtle.. :)

http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4023/4716060417_b6ac729f79.jpg

...then we walked further it to the tunnel and spotted a shark.... I kept
very still when the shark spotted me and tried not to make any sudden
movements!  :o

http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4026/4716060419_911febe9b1.jpg

...After our visit there we stopped off for lunch at Harry Ramsdens world
famous fish and chip restaurant...this was the view from our table of the
promenade..

http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4064/4715417296_3a06d31294.jpg

....with full tummies we then took a walk on the Britannia Pier to see the sea..

http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4052/4716060423_82f8734c4b.jpg

..and the beach itself....which was empty as it was very cold and windy!

Well mum, I have to go now... Its Fathers Day tomorrow and I'm going to

Ciudad Real, Spain - 6th August 2010

By: auroris

Hola mum!

Sorry for being late!! This week my host Aurora was really busy and she couldn't take me with her anywhere but this evening we spent a little walk around Ciudad Real with my friend Rafael

This is Toledo Gate, in the North of the city. Ciudad Real used to be walled several centuries ago. This was the Northern Gate of the city.
It is the only wall part that exists nowadays.

Convento de la Merced, a little and hidden chappel

Pasaje de La Merced - La Merced Narrow Street
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v85/audreycr/tobbi/tobbi05.jpg

There was a little exhibition of iron sculpture in front La Merced Museum. We can't find the author's name...

Virgen del Carmen Statue, in front of Carmelitas Closed Convent.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v85/audreycr/tobbi/tobbi09.jpg

This is a little house from the 18th Century. So nice place.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v85/audreycr/tobbi/tobbi10.jpg

We can see the Cathedral at the back through Azucena Street
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v85/audreycr/tobbi/tobbi11.jpg

Aurora doesn't know about this little church...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v85/audreycr/tobbi/tobbi12.jpg

This is Ciudad Real Bullring. It is closed almost all the year.
Bullfights are celebrated in mainly in August and some gigs are celebrated here as well during the year. Aurora hates this place so much...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v85/audreycr/tobbi/tobbi13.jpg

And here I am sitting in my host's car, a Renault Modus, with Rafael.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v85/audreycr/tobbi/tobbi14.jpg

We were very tired of walking around but we enjoyed it a lot!!!
Aurora says we are going to visit better places in Ciudad Real next weekend!! ;)

Bye, mum!
