Helsinki, Finland - 17th July 2009
By: Huppu68
I arrived safely to Helsinki yesterday I was there right on time, because my host and her family had already packed their things and were ready to travel to the Central Finland.
Now I'm in the Central Finland near Jyväskylä at the place of my host's mother in the countryside. Yesterday I was really tired and suffering a bit of the jet lag. I just wanted to sleep outside...
In the evening I met some new friends and we went by the lake to see the sunset. I also found a nice appletree where I could climb and hide
Today we'll go to a Skiffle Music Festival and I'm looking forward to it, because my host said there's lots of fun there
You can see photos of my weekend trip when we'll be back at home in Helsinki.

Oh, I forgot to introduce my new friends; there is Henrik The Moose, Gustav The Parrot and Manu The Rubber Duck. Gustav is a travelling toy via Poscrossing and Henrik is my host's own ToyVoyager, who hasn't travelled anywhere yet.
The Skiffle Music Festival was great and we had fun there The concerts were in a big tent and we spent some time behind the tent too. The concert place was really near to a railway station and we saw some big trains there too.

The Central Finland, Finland - 18th July 2009
By: Huppu68
At first I had really big problems with sleeping. Nights last only a few hours here in Finland and it's so bright here even at nights. Soon I started to do like my new friends, because I wanted to spend as much time with them as possible and not sleep when they are awaken. I drink a lot of coffee and it's really good here. I stay up late and sleep long in the mornings; this works actually quite well.
On Saturday morning we went to a small amusement park near the place we were staying. In the afternoon we played outside and in the evening we went to the Skiffle Festival again. We also stopped by a lake and saw a beautiful sunset.

On Sunday we left the Central Finland and on our way back to Helsinki we vísited Manu The Duck's godmother at her summer cottage by the lake. In the evening we arrived to Helsinki and we wer all tired, but very happy after the great trip. We had some delicious chocolate strawberries and after eating them we went to bed.

Helsinki, Finland - 13th March 2010
By: Huppu68
Hi!
It has been a really loooooooong time since I updated my blog last time. Everything is OK, but my host has been sick and her disease had mede her really tired. We've visited nice places and met some nice people whenever she has felt better. There are lots of pictures of me and we'll upload them here little by little. I just wanted to tell that I'm fine
My host loves postcrossing and I've been in many PC meetings. There's always fun and I've met a lot of new friends there, especially when Delenna has been there with us Here are some meeting photos.

Gustav was leaving us and travelling to the USA so we wanted to have nice time together outside of Helsinki. We drove to Billnäs for a day; it's a great old place about 90 km from Helsinki. We had fun there and saw beautiful Finnish summer views. We also ate pancakes with jam
Next morning we went to Café Ekberg for a special breakfast and after that we said goodbye to Gustav...

After the big international postcrossing meeting Henrik travelled to Holland with Dandilion. Sam moved to live with us, he's a cute squirrel and my host's new TV, who hasn't travelled anywhere yet. Jelle arrived from Estonia and she is a lovely pink bunny Pipi, an Ausralian koala, arrived here too A lot of changes, but it's always nice to meet new friends, even though it's hard to say to goodbye to old ones...
Here I am with my friends sitting on a bench, going home from the city by tram (with a big latte and chocolate ), reading and going to sleep.

Helsinki, Finland - 14th March 2010

In the end of August they always celebrate the Night of Arts here in Helsinki. This year the best art work we saw was art made of teddy bears and we got to be a piece of that too
I now know what the Finnish flag looks and I wanted to be in a picture with one.
We were at the northern herring flowing market and there were lots of great old wooden ships and boats. It's nice to take a walk by the sea and the open market. I saw one of the most famous statues of Helsinki too, it's called Havis Amanda.

Autumn was warm and sunny. We spent a lot of time out enjoying the weather and the beautiful colourful nature. Here you can see me in front of the railway station of Helsinki. The stonemen statues are huge and the stonemen are also very famous - they are in TV commercials too
After our afternoon walks we often take a nap and sometimes we have slept with my host's cat Lauri

Tampere, Finland - 16th March 2010
By: Huppu68
Hey,
It's Mercury here again with new updates about my life and adventures here in Finland
In October we made a great day trip to Tampere by car. Tampere is a nice city about 150 km from Helsinki. Unfortunately the Moomin Valley was closed, but we saw a nice Moomin Statue in front of the museum. After the trip we had tea and delicious Italian cannolis at home - what a lovely day

The Central Finland, Finland - 16th March 2010
By: Huppu68
We spent Christmas in the Central Finland and there was lots and lots of snow everywhere. It was great to play out in the snow with my friends In the evenings we went to sauna to get warm again after playing out for a long time. We wer in sauna when Santa had visit us, he was way too busy to wait for us, but he had left some gifts for me and my friends. We were all excited and opened our gifts in a hurry - too fast for my host to take any photos... I got some chocolate and cookies, my favourites

Helsinki, Finland - 1st April 2010
By: Huppu68
Hi Mom,
It's me Mercury here again and I'll tell you more stories about my adventures here in Finland this winter now
I spent some time on a tree after we came back to Helsinki. It was so quiet and peaceful in the Central Finland that city life felt too loud for me. Soon I got used to the life in city again, especially after it started snowing here too.
Well, once it started to snow it didn't end for a few months and we had lots of snow here too. I like snow and so do my friends. We spent lot of time outside playing and we had fun there together. Here you can see some of my snowy pictures.
