Usti nad Labem, Czech Republic - 15th September 2009

By: scoiattolo

HI, I'm Ferda, now I live with my mum in the north of Czech Republic, in Usti nad Labem... The town isn't so interesting, but the countryside is beautiful.

http://i786.photobucket.com/albums/yy149/hpaje/P1050032m.jpg

I know it, because I went with my mum to the little trip, to the viewtower Erbenka, ... it's only 1 km from my home...I like it very much...

Hammonds Plains, N.S., Canada - 2nd October 2009

By: Rennire

Hooray! I have arrived in Canada at last!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3769.jpg

Another TV, TobiHH, was here to greet me when I came out of my envelope.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3783.jpg

It was very bright at first!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3786.jpg

Then I showed TobiHH and Ren all of the goodies that I brought from home and told them a little bit about Czech Republic.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3789.jpg

I can't wait to go exploring!

I hope all is well back home!

Sackville River, Bedford, Canada - 2nd October 2009

By: Rennire

For my first trip Ren took me to a nearby town called Bedford to walk along a trail.

The trees are just starting to change colours here.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3722.jpg

The trail runs along the Sackville river. Here are some of the pictures I took:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3726.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3729.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3733.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3738.jpg

There were lots of bridges!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3742.jpg

From one of them I could see ducks!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3745.jpg

TobiHH and I sat back for a while and enjoyed.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3746.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3747.jpg

At one point the trail comes out right by the highway.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3748.jpg

Another bridge!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3756.jpg

There is also a firing range along the trail. Yikes!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3758.jpg

It's on the other side of that fence.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3760.jpg

I was a little nervous at first, but Ren promised that I was in no danger as long as I stayed on this side of the fence.

Look! A caterpillar! I said Hello.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3762.jpg

I went up close to the water, the bubbles were making interesting designs.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3763.jpg

Next we went under the highway. I sure hope those columns hold!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3777.jpg

The path moved away from the river after that.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3766.jpg

Here you can see the targets on the firing range. They're a looong way away from the fence!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3775.jpg

We finally came out where we started, at a shopping mall!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3779.jpg

Whew! I'm exhausted! Time for bed!

Good night!

Bedford Basin , Canada - 9th October 2009

By: Rennire

Hello again!
I've been here a week now and it's rained almost everyday! This morning we were able to get out and take some pictures before the rain came though. We went to a park on the Bedford Basin.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3802.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3804.jpg

In the background you can see the two big bridges that connect the cities of Halifax and Dartmouth. Beyond those bridges is the ocean!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3808.jpg

There is a walkway all along this part of the basin so we took it.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3811.jpg

There are lots of nice condos and apartments by the water.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3813.jpg

Pretty!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3838.jpg

Usually there are a lot of sailboats out sailing, but not today.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3816.jpg

The railway also winds along the waterfront.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3817.jpg

When the path came to an end we followed a road.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3819.jpg

It led to another park!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3820.jpg

The water is so calm here!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3823.jpg

But the sky is not!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3822.jpg

We kept on walking to see what we could find. Here is a sailing school. Should I enroll?

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3835.jpg

We also saw some churches up on the hill.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3824.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3833.jpg

And Ren says that she wouldn't mind living in this big house!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3837.jpg

This is the place where the Sackville river runs into the Basin. That is the river that I explored last week!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3826.jpg

There was one more park to visit.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3834.jpg

Hmmm... a statue.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3828.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3829.jpg

I sat in the gazebo for a while and rested.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3830.jpg

We went back then to the part where we started. Here I am with the Nova Scotia flag:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3839.jpg

The playground is in the shape of a ship here!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3845.jpg

I tried out the slide!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3847.jpg

A big Anchor!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3843.jpg

Here is some information about this place:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3840.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3841.jpg

One last look at the water and then it was time to go!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3846.jpg

Bye for now!

Peggy's Cove , Canada - 16th October 2009

By: Rennire

Hello!
Guess what? It was raining again today! Where have you sent me to mom? It didn't stop us from going out today though!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3885.jpg

On the way we saw lots of pretty views!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3867.jpg

We went to visit a tiny fishing town called Peggy's Cove. It has one of the most famous lighthouses in the country. There it is!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3868.jpg

We got out and walked on the rocks. They were very slippery!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3869.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3870.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3871.jpg

It's so big!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3879.jpg
There is a rumour that this area is haunted by a person that died when they slipped into the ocean.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3873.jpg

Speaking of which...

It's the ocean!!!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3875.jpg

I've accomplished one of my life missions! It looked a little unforgiving today, but it's still beautiful!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3876.jpg

You can see the waves crashing in the background.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3877.jpg

Facing the other way you can see some of the buildings in the town.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3874.jpg

That big building is a restaurant.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3878.jpg

This place is usually full of tourists, but because it was raining we had the whole place to ourselves!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3883.jpg

Now it's time for me to get dry and warm!

Goodnight!

Halifax Harbour, Canada - 19th October 2009

By: Rennire

Hi!
Guess what? Yesterday it finally wasn't raining so Ren took me down to see the Halifax Harbour Walk.

To get there we walked through a place called the Historic Properties.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3902.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3903.jpg

It is an area of the city full of old buildings. Many of them have become shops and restaurants.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3906.jpg

Most of them were not open because it was still too early in the day.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3905.jpg

At last we reached the water!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3915.jpg

We looked out to see what boats were in the harbour. Here is a Canadian Navy ship:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3909.jpg

And the people ferry that will take you to Dartmouth, the city on the other side of the harbour:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3912.jpg

There was only one sailboat out. It was probably a little cold for sailing!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3917.jpg

This is Theodore Tugboat. He's a character from a children's television show here.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3920.jpg

I said "hello!"

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3919.jpg

Here's another interesting boat:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3923.jpg

There was also one cruise ship who had come to visit!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3928.jpg

We stopped to look at this interesting carving. The inscription is all in Latin so we have no idea what it was made for!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3924.jpg

In the summer time this area is packed full of people's boats! I guess they are all put away for winter now!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3926.jpg

I saw another lighthouse too! You can just make it out on the island behind me.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3927.jpg

I enjoyed my walk along the water very much!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3930.jpg

Until next time,

Halifax Public Gardens, Canada - 19th October 2009

By: Rennire

Hello!
Sorry that it has taken so long for me to update this! My host has been very busy this week moving into her new house. Anyway, I'm happy that I finally get to share my next trip with you!

I went to visit the Public Gardens, a Victorian style park in the middle of downtown Halifax.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3977.jpg

There are lots of caretakers here so this area is still pretty green compared to the rest of the city.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3976.jpg

It is missing all of the fancy flowers that it has in the summer time though!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3974.jpg

Along the main path there are 3 statues of Greek goddesses.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3968.jpg

One:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3969.jpg

Two:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3975.jpg

Three:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3973.jpg

On Sunday's musicians play in this bandstand.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3971.jpg

I took the path to the left...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3970.jpg

... and came to a big duck pond!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3963.jpg

The ducks were mostly lazy!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3960.jpg

There's one coming to say hello!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3959.jpg

Next I found a big fountain.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3957.jpg

It wasn't turned on though!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3958.jpg

There are lots of paths and benches here!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3961.jpg

Here's another fountain!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3967.jpg

And some flowers that are still alive!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3965.jpg

Time to go! Next I'm headed to another place downtown that might be a little bit scary... Yikes!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3956.jpg

Bye for now!

Old Burial Grounds, Canada - 19th October 2009

By: Rennire

Hi!
Because it's almost Halloween I decided to explore Halifax's oldest graveyard.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3941.jpg

This lion stands guard at the entrance!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3952.jpg

Here is some info about it:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3954.jpg

This graveyard doesn't really seem that scary now.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3951.jpg

Especially when the sun is finally shining!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3948.jpg

We wandered around looking for interesting stones.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3949.jpg

This one was used like an advertisement for the carver. See all the different fonts and pictures? People would chose the one that they liked the best for their own stones.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3944.jpg

This is Ren's favourite gravestone because the skull on top looks so silly!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3933.jpg

The stones with skulls on the top are the oldest. Later gravestones have urns on the top like these.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3938.jpg

Now here's one that looks scary! Yikes!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3943.jpg

I was feeling a little scared after looking at that one. Even though the tour guide said that the area was not haunted.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3946.jpg

Then I was distracted by a pretty building in the background.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3935.jpg

I went to get a better look. It's a cathedral called St. Mary's Basilica.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3932.jpg

Once I went back to the graveyard I was feeling much less scared.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN3945.jpg

Nope! There is nothing to be afraid of here!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN39342.jpg

Muahahaha... I mean see you soon!

Bedford Nova Scotia, Canada - 29th October 2009

By: Rennire

Hello!
Today I met a new Toy Voyager! His name is Fiete!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN4014.jpg

He is from Germany and he had lots of postcards to show me!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN4017.jpg

I showed him around Ren's house a bit while she was busy unpacking. It's such a mess right now!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN4022.jpg

Then we met a horse and went for a ride!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN4025.jpg

We also met a witch! She was very nice though!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN4042.jpg

She even gave us Halloween candy! Yum!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN4040.jpg

We had a lot of energy from all of that candy so we went outside to play.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN4028.jpg

There are still some pretty coloured leaves to be found!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN4031.jpg

Afterwards we spent the afternoon looking out the window and being lazy!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN4035.jpg

Bye for now!

Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Canada - 29th October 2009

By: Rennire

Hi!

Today Fiete and I went to go see another cemetery. (There sure are a lot of them around here!)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/IMG_6252.jpg

This one is special because some of the Titanic Victims are buried here.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/IMG_6255.jpg

We followed the signs!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/IMG_6256.jpg

Here it is. This is the place where the Catholic people were buried. It is the smaller of the two grave sites in Halifax.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/IMG_6269.jpg

The stones are all the same.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/IMG_6259.jpg

Many of them do not have names on them because when the ship sank they didn't have anything with them to identify them.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/IMG_6264.jpg

Here is some information.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/IMG_6261.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/IMG_6268.jpg

This stone does have a name. Wenzel Linhard was a 3rd class passenger from Austria, aged 32.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/IMG_6267.jpg

It was just starting to rain so it was time to go!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/IMG_6265.jpg

Bedford Nova Scotia, Canada - 31st October 2009

By: Rennire

It's Halloween!

Today Fiete and I had lots of fun playing in the candy bowl while we waited for Trick or Treaters to come to the door!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN4087.jpg

Then there was a knock on the door. We were kind of surprised because it was still very early. When we opened it we didn't see children in costumes, we saw Barney! He has come to visit for a while!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN4089.jpg

We all decided to help Ren carve some pumpkins.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/IMG_6274.jpg

They were pretty small so it didn't take too long before they were empty!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/IMG_6275.jpg

While Ren cut out her pumpkin's face we helped to separate all of the pumpkin seeds from the pumpkin goo so we could bake them.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN4059.jpg

Ren finished her pumpkin!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/IMG_6279.jpg

And the seeds were ready too!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN4081.jpg

Yum!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN4082.jpg

We went into a dark room to try out Ren's Jack o lantern.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/IMG_6283.jpg

Her mother made a silly face on the other pumpkin!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN4055.jpg

After all of that hard work it was time to sneak some candy!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN4056.jpg

Then we put the pumpkins on the front step.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN4094.jpg

There was a skeleton out there too! Yikes!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN4092.jpg

Ren's mother dressed up like a witch to answer the door but she couldn't find her hat!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN4067.jpg

We hung out with her for the rest of the evening waiting to give out candy.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN4085.jpg

Happy Halloween!

Point Pleasant Park , Canada - 14th November 2009

By: Rennire

Hello Again!

Recently the city that I'm staying at experienced the first snow of the season. It was kind of yucky and depressing looking but then it it warmed up a lot and all the snow disappeared!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN4107.jpg

We decided to take advantage of the nice weather so Fiete, Barney and I went to a place called Point Pleasant Park.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN4207-Copy.jpg

It is a great place to see the Atlantic Ocean.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN4192-Copy.jpg

Facing the other way you can see the big cranes that load and unload cargo ships.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN4193-Copy.jpg

This area used to be a big military bastion. From here the soldiers could see any ship that was entering the Halifax harbour. There are remains of this all over the park.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN4212.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN4259.jpg

There are also lots of monuments honouring the military along the water.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN4219-Copy.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN4199-Copy.jpg

And there are lots of stories to read about different battles and events.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN4211-Copy.jpg

Us TV's discovered this little canon and made up our own battle story! (We won of course!)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN4224.jpg

After that we moved away from the water and climbed up a really really big hill!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN4228.jpg

At the top of the hill there is a tower!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN4241.jpg

(Whew my little legs were tired from the the hill!)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN4234-Copy.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN4235.jpg

I wonder if there is a princess up there? I called out but didn't get an answer!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN4236.jpg

Next we walked to another place where the remains of the fort still stand.  On the way we met some seals!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN4243.jpg

Here it is!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN4247.jpg

There was a really big cannon here!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN4248.jpg

You really can see well from way up here! No one is attacking the city today!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN4257.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN4254.jpg

It was starting to get dark so we made our way back down the hill to catch our bus but we missed it! It was okay though, we just sat on the beach and waited for the next one to come.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN4264.jpg

And we watched all of the lights come on across the water.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN4273.jpg

It was a really fun day!

Shubenacadie Canal, Canada - 6th December 2009

By: Rennire

Hi!

Recently I travelled to a place called the Shubenacadie Canal. It's located in Dartmouth, a nearby city that's full of lakes. The canals connect all these lakes together and were very important for transportation before there were many roads. This part of the canal system is now a park.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN4360.jpg

Here's what is on the sign:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN4320.jpg

The lake that I started at was small but full of ducks!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN4323.jpg

Hello ducks!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN4328.jpg

There is a trail along the canal so I took it.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN4333.jpg

In the old days this water would have been full of canoes and busy people.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN4334.jpg

There used to be simple houses along the water too but there is not much left of them now.  The rocks behind me used to be a small house.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN4339.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN4337.jpg

The trail went up much higher!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN4347.jpg

There used to be a blacksmiths shop behind me here. But once again there is very little left of it today.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN4349.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN4362.jpg

The trail went on forever!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN4356.jpg

I ended up back at the small lake but on the other side this time!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/rennire/toy%20voyagers/DSCN4366.jpg
It was fun!

Bye for now!
