Denver Botanic Gardens, USA - 6th December 2010

By: GabbyGecko

Tonight, Dusel & I went to to the Denver Botanic Gardens. During the summer its full of exotic flowering plants and sculptures. During the winter, they hang lights on all the plants and turn it into a lighted park for people to walk around in the evenings. We've been before, and it looks really neat when there is snow on the ground. However - we don't have any! It's very rare for this time of the year. But I still thought the gardens looked really cool without the sow.

Here is a picture of me at the entrance of the garden. The lights shooting up from the ground are water fountains. They shoot up and down and change colors. The snowflakes were hung all along a wall that went down the length of the water garden.

http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee515/gabbygecko/100_1536.jpg

Here is another part of the garden where they dug holes in teh ground and put lights in them. Then the plants around the holes had lights in them with a giant snowflake in the background.

http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee515/gabbygecko/100_1541.jpg

This snowflake was gigantic!

http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee515/gabbygecko/100_1588.jpg

Here are some really cool pictures of me & Dusel on an ice sculpture. They made these with chain saws! It was so cold! I kept slipping off of the statues. Geck claws are made to hold onto ice!

http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee515/gabbygecko/photo1.jpg

(It's kind of hard to see me in this one. I'm on top of the snowmans head on the right side.)

http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee515/gabbygecko/photo4.jpg

http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee515/gabbygecko/photo6.jpg

http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee515/gabbygecko/photo7.jpg

http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee515/gabbygecko/photo8.jpg

I saw this really cool statue on the way back to the car. It reminded me of scales on a real gecko so I wanted to pose in front of it!

Castle Rock & Elizabeth, CO, USA - 7th December 2010

By: GabbyGecko

I showed Dusel around our local town today. He found it quite fascinating, but I found myself constantly apologizing for how ugly it was. It is just so BROWN this time of year! I love it during the spring and summer - but it's definitly "blech" looking right now.

Here is us in front of the local cowboy hat shop. Yes - you heard me correctly. We have a store dedicated to nothing but making custome cowboy hats!

http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee515/gabbygecko/100_1512.jpg

We also met this lovely duck at the local law office. He's pretty cool, and I may come back and visit him another time.

http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee515/gabbygecko/100_1515.jpg

We also visited the Castle Rock in the next town over. Us geckos always thought there was a magical castle on top where we would be turned into princesses. Nope. Quite the let down when we hiked up there one day and found that it really was nothing but ...a rock!

http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee515/gabbygecko/100_1518.jpg

I also helped my hooman pay her car insurnace. It's no coincidence that she has Geico. I begged and pleaded for her to go to Geico in hopes that I meet Mr. Gecko some day. He is soooo hot!.

Parker, CO, USA - 12th December 2010

By: GabbyGecko

Whew! Christmas Party 2010 over and done with! I know I am supposed to be Hoo-man's best friend - but she made that very difficult these past couple of days. :) She has been running around like a nut and I have been along for the ride in her coat pocket or on top of her computer the whole time. I better be getting a good gift from Santa this year for what I had to put up with in the past cuple of days. However, it was quite a lovely evening last night at the party. I got to hang out in hoo-man's purse with Dusel while we listed to the events & got the occasional food goodie dropped down to us.

To make up for the chaos, hoo-man took us out to look at the holiday lights on peoples houses tonight. Here are a couple of our favorites:

http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee515/gabbygecko/100_1623.jpg

http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee515/gabbygecko/100_1632.jpg

Then, as we were driving home I noticed this huge star in the distance. You always hear people talking about the North Star, and I was convinced that what I was seeing was the Real North Star!! That means that if I kept walking in the direction of that star it would bring me to the North Pole where Santa and the elves are!! Right?!?!? Well Hoo-man wasn't very convinced that it was the north star so we went driving to investigate. Unfortunately - she prooved me wrong and it ended up being a fake!!! Someone had a gigantic star attached to the roof their house. This *had* to be a person that was trying to throw people off Santa's trail right? They must be part of Santa's Secret Security ageny - protecting him from the random tourist showing up at his work shop. Well played Mr. Claus. Well played.

http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee515/gabbygecko/100_1641.jpg

When we got home, we put the rest of my ornaments on the tree to call it officially "finished"!!

Here are Dusel & I enjoying the lights of the tree with all the ornaments.

http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee515/gabbygecko/100_1653.jpg

Here is me next to one of my finished ornaments on the tree.

http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee515/gabbygecko/100_1650.jpg

Every tree needs a star! That's how Santa finds our house. Without the star, he wouldnt be able to come and deliver our gifts!

Another TV came in the mail today!!!!! Her name is Nathalia and she is from Germany (just like Dusel)!!

Here is everyone getting settled in. Nathalia came with a box full of goodies! We got a very scrumptious looking cake and a rhino friend! We still haven't come up with a good name for him yet though....

http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee515/gabbygecko/100_1663.jpg

Unpacking Nathalia's box made me remember that I never posted pictures of Dusel's post card and goodie! I was just so excited to get my first TV visitor that I completely forgot! Here is us with the pretty card and the neat medallion! We are going to find a string for it & put it on the Christmas tree..

http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee515/gabbygecko/100_1688.jpg

I've been telling Dusel all day that he needs to get cleaned up & fluffy for a special person that he is going to meet. He moaned & groaned all day until Nathalie & I were able to corner him. I pulled up a picture of Fabio so I had an idea of what to do with his fur... But I'm not sure if I was completely successful in the transformation....

Cheyenne mountain zoo, CO, USA - 15th December 2010

By: GabbyGecko

I was very excited to be able to bring a few of my TV friends to one of our Zoos here. It's really cool because you can get really close to the animals. We have 2 zoos in Colorado - one in Denver -and then this one in Colorado Springs. It is about an hour away and we have to drive west to get there. We got to drive towards one of my most favorite views- Pikes Peak. It is one of the tallest mountains in Colorado, and it is over 14,000 feet tall. Here is the three of us in front of the big mountain in the distance.
http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee515/gabbygecko/100_1692.jpg

Then we had to strop and pick up lunch to bring to the zoo. We went to one of my favorite restaurants. It only serves lunch, and it only serves Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches! Here is the three of us fighting over th last bit of sandwich. It was so good - it had ginger peanut butter, jalepeno pear jelly, spinich, sprouts, and bell peppers. Very strange combo but trust me, it worked!
http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee515/gabbygecko/100_1701.jpg

Here are some pictures of me with all the different critters at the zoo! Some were really scary and some were really nice

Action shot! The mountian lion exhibit went above the viewing station. This was very scary to have a mountain lion on top of us!

I have a cold. *sniff.* I got left in hoo-man's back pack the other night and it snowed. It was the first real snow with accumulation. I had to crawl through the snow to get back in.

http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee515/gabbygecko/100_1329.jpg

She's trying to make it up to me by letting me sleep in the big bed. I just hope I'm better by Christmas! When I get a cold I lose my sense of taste, and I'm afraid I wont be able to taste all the good Christmas nummies!

I've been slumming around in my pajamas for the past couple of days, and doing a lot of reading. Right now I am reading Winnie the Pooh.

http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee515/gabbygecko/100_1491.jpg

I've also been doing a lot of relaxing in bed.

I'm ready for Christmas!!!!!! I was really hoping for a white Christmas, but I dont think that is going to happen. The Weather Gods managed to forget to spread some of the snow our direction down here on the plains. The clouds used up all their snow in the mountains - over 130 inches worth!

I really hope I get something good tomorrow - I have two little gifts under the tree with my name on them, and then I also bought something for my hoo-man.

Here is a picture of me & my friends in front of the Christmas tree! We are waiting for Santa...

http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee515/gabbygecko/100_1761.jpg

Every year, my hoo-man makes me a new pair of pajama's to sleep in on Christmas Eve. (Also known as Pea-j's... he he he. Bad joke - I know.) This year I got some red flannel ones with snowflakes on them. This is probably the closest I am going to get to snow for a long time...

http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee515/gabbygecko/100_1764.jpg

Waiting for Santa!!!!!!!!!! While visions of Sugar Plums dance in my head...

Daniel's Park, Sedalia, CO, USA - 26th December 2010

By: GabbyGecko

WOOOOOOOT!! It's Christmas! This is my third Christmas and each one seems to get better. I remember this time last year I was in San Diego visiting family with my hoo-man and it was cold and rainy. He he he. I hear it's still rainy in California! At least here, it's a bit warmer. Although - I still have yet to see a White Christmas. I was really hoping that's what Santa would bring me, but no. :(

He did come and visit us last night though! We all tried really really hard to stay up for him, but we must have fallen asleep. I dont even remember what time THAT was... But when we woke up this morning, our stocking was full! However, we couldn't open gifts until tonight.

Because it was so nice out, we went for a drive in the scary Mustang. It was kind of a Christmas gift to the he-hoo-man because my hoo-man usually won't ride in it. *snicker* I think it scares her! We went to Daniels Park. It is one of my favorite place in Colorado because you can see for miles in every direction! We have seen some really cool sunsets & storms from here.

http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee515/gabbygecko/100_1769.jpg

http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee515/gabbygecko/100_1773.jpg

http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee515/gabbygecko/100_1778.jpg

Then as we were leaving the park, we smelled something really funky. It was a heard of buffalo! They are by far the strangest animal I have every seen as a small gecko.

http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee515/gabbygecko/100_1780.jpg

And this is why my hoo-man does NOT like to go for drives in the Mustang. No hooman or Gecko ever needs to go 123 mph in a car!

http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee515/gabbygecko/100_1787.jpg

After our little outting, we went to hoo-man's parents for Christmas dinner. However, I had to change for the festivities! I was wearing my Christmas tree outfit.
http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee515/gabbygecko/100_1789.jpg

After a long evening there, we were FINALLY able to go back home and open our gifts!! WEEEEEE!

I tore right into mine....

http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee515/gabbygecko/100_1796.jpg

The first thing I got was a new set of tail clippies!
http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee515/gabbygecko/100_1798.jpg
http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee515/gabbygecko/100_1799.jpg

Then on to the second gift...
http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee515/gabbygecko/100_1801.jpg
A new dress! Hoo-man doesnt make all of my clothes. Sometimes I can fit into a Barbie dress. This one is awesome!

http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee515/gabbygecko/100_1802.jpg
http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee515/gabbygecko/100_1803.jpg

Then it was time to open our stocking!
http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee515/gabbygecko/100_1794.jpg
Woooow! Look at our loot!
http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee515/gabbygecko/100_1807.jpg

We played a couple of games of basketball from our stocking.
http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee515/gabbygecko/100_1812.jpg

Then we took a team picture and called it a night! Merry Christmas everyone!!!!

The Shop, Colorado, USA - 31st December 2010

By: GabbyGecko

Tonight, Dusel, Nathalie and I decided to go up to the he-hoo-man's shop to help work on the cars. We thought that 6 additional...uh... paws would be helpful. Well, wait a second. That math isnt write... I have 4 paws/claws. Dusel has 4 paws - so thats 8 paws. And Nathalie has 2 wings. So 8 paws and 2 wings are better than 2 human hands?

Here we are picking out our tools. I really dont know what any of these things do.

http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee515/gabbygecko/100_1829.jpg

Here we are all inside of the car. Nathalie felt more comfortable holding the light with her wings. Dusel held the wrench and I was actually using the pliers. In the end - I didnt do anything because I didnt know what I was doing!

http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee515/gabbygecko/100_1825.jpg

http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee515/gabbygecko/100_1828.jpg

We decided to move on from there as we weren't making any progress. Here we are on one of the older cars. It needs ALOT of work!!!

http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee515/gabbygecko/100_1830.jpg

After that, we went and played with a few more of the power tools. He he he! We found this brush looking thing on the end of the drill and thought that it looked fun. We asked Dusel if he wanted his nails filed or his teeth brushed. He declined. No fun!

http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee515/gabbygecko/100_1831.jpg

But guess what?!?!?! NO MORE BROWN COLORADO!! We are in the middle of our biggest snow yet this year! We are supposed to get 5-10 inches. That isnt THAT much - but it's definitely more than we've had all year. We offered to plow the drive way - but the hoo-mans declined our generosity. I dont think they trust us with heavy machinery.

Happy New Year!!!

Since we actually have snow, we decided to write our new years greeting in the snow. It was so cold! At one point, it was -12 F!

http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee515/gabbygecko/100_1836.jpg
I was also lucky enough to get a new dress just for new years! Here is our New Years greeting that we sent out to friends and family.

http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee515/gabbygecko/100_1842.jpg

And a close up of the dress!
http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee515/gabbygecko/100_1843.jpg

And the super glittery hat!

I wish all of my fellow TVs the best in 2011!

Pea's Pad, Colorado, USA - 5th January 2011

By: GabbyGecko

I've been meaning to post these sooner. Here are some pictures of my home! I have been very lucky to have my own cubby/island paradise!

I usually stay in the hammack. The pink two story is for my guests. (Dusel and Nathlie are currently staying.) Then I have drawers for all of my knick-knacks. My walls are adorned with all of the clothes my hoo-man has made for me! It is quite a lovely place to lay and day dream.

http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee515/gabbygecko/100_1845.jpg

http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee515/gabbygecko/100_1851.jpg

I have clothes for all occasions. I usually get a new batch made for me for every holiday (christmas, halloween, easter etc) and a new set for each season & vacation. I have shorts, over alls, skirts, dresses, PJs and bathing suits. Here are my two favorite gowns! I would sleep in them if  I could!

I have had quite the hiatus away from the computer in the past week or two! I'm not sure if my fingers know how to type still!

We had pasta the other night! My favorite - they were in the shapes of bugs - a gecko's favorite food!
http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee515/gabbygecko/100_1867.jpg

I don't think Dusel & Nathalie were too thrilled though....

http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee515/gabbygecko/100_1866.jpg

It's been very cold here in Colorado the past couple of days. We didn't get much snow, but all major schools in the state have been closed because they dont want the kiddos outside. This morning it was -18 F (negative). With the wind chill it felt like -46 F (yes - negative again!!).

We decided to see who could last the longest outside. Neither of us last very long. We all went back in at the same time!

http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee515/gabbygecko/100_1868.jpg

Here I am with the current weather. It's still really cold! I dont think that I can feel the difference between -20 something and -40 something. It's all cold.

http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee515/gabbygecko/100_1877.jpg

We also have received a new visitor - Diddl Mous! He came with a really cool post card for my collection!

While Diddl-Maus arrived this week, we bid farewell to Dusel who will be continuing on his travels! Good luck Dusel! It was great to meet you! Thank you for not eating me!! :)

A golf course, Colorado , USA - 6th February 2011

By: GabbyGecko

The weather is still cold and snowy here! Today, we sent put first hosted toy voyager ever off to his next destination. Dusel is heading from one cold place to another - Norway. We will miss him dearly! In order to raise our spirits- we did some day dreaming about some warmer pastimes. One of which is golf. I have visited some really cool golf courses all around the country, but my favorite is always going to be my home town golf course.

I decided to take my toy voyaging friends out to the course today so I can show them around. We werent able to play because of the weather, but we did get to mosey around the club house!

Our drive there was a bit scary!
http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee515/gabbygecko/100_1900.jpg
Here we are hanging out on one of the member's golf bags. They have so many golf clubs! They are much too big for me to try and swing. I need a Pea sized set...
http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee515/gabbygecko/100_1883.jpg

People can also buy golf clubs there in case they want a new one, forget one or... Break one....
http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee515/gabbygecko/100_1892.jpg

Golfers really like baseball caps. A lot.
http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee515/gabbygecko/100_1891.jpg

During the summer there are a lot of thunderstorms so the people in the club house have to always keep on top of the weather. You can see here that they are tracking the snow storm.
http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee515/gabbygecko/100_1886.jpg

The people in the club house also watch whats going on on the course through high powered binoculars. There wasn't much to look at today.

Theyalsohandoutthekeystothegolfcarts.Woohoo!Lookatemall!

[img]http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee515/gabbygecko/100_1890.jpg

People also get score cards so they can keep track of their strokes. The score card also has information about the course on it like the rules, the par number of strokes (the expected number of strokes to make it around the course), and a picture of what each hole looks like.

Pea's Pad, Colorado, USA - 6th February 2011

By: GabbyGecko

Something very exciting happened today! I got a gift from another fellow gecko, Flowers. Flowers came from the same gecko farm that I did & she now lives with a very nice girl a few towns over.

My hoo-man brought me a little silver pouch today & she said it was from them!

http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee515/gabbygecko/100_1901.jpg

Claws are not very good for opening gifts, so I had to be careful not to shred anything.

http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee515/gabbygecko/100_1902.jpg

Look! It's a scarf! I really need one in this cold weather! And its my favorite color - GREEEEEEEEN!!!!

http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee515/gabbygecko/100_1903.jpg

i LOVE it! Thanks guys!
