Spijkenisse & Rozenburg, Netherlands - 17th August 2011
By: Paulette088
Hello!
Today we made sushi with Paulette's sister Hanneke and a friend of Hanneke. We travelled to Paulette's parents in Rozenburg. That's a small village near Spijkenisse. We went to the busstop and waited for the bus. I had my own card, it's called an "OV-Chipkaart" and you can travel by train, bus, metro and tram with it. I hold mine very tight.
In the bus I looked outside the window. The bustrip was about 45 minutes, so I saw a lot!
When we arrived we started to make sushi, it was the first time we made it all ourselves. It was a lot of work, but so much fun!
Can you find me between all stuff?
After we finished cooking, the table was full of sushi. I tried the wasabi, that's hot!
After the sushi, we had a delicious pudding!
And after dinner, we had to do the dishes... Not my favorite part, I almost got lost!

Emmen, Netherlands - 29th August 2011

The next day we visited the zoo. What a beautiful place! There are a lot of nice animals to see. Sometimes I even wonder if we were watching them, or if they we're watching us...
We saw this sign, I wonder if there are people that share icecreams with the tigers....
I met this friendly green animal. He was just chilling in the heat at his home
At last, I said "hi" to this beautiful butterfly

All around Emmen, Netherlands - 30th August 2011
By: Paulette088
Today we made a trip with our bikes. It wasn't very hot, but luckily it didn't rain during our trip. We had a map that was made by other people, so we followed the route.
On our way we changed our route a little bit. There are lots of maps like this one in Holland:
It shows differents points in the neighbour. When you bike from point to point, you can follow the signs with the number of the point you want to go to. You can make a whole chain of points to create a route. At every point you can count how many km it is to the next point, so you can bike as far as you want!
After 42 KM we we're (very tired..) back at the hotel!

Spijkenisse, Netherlands - 9th September 2011

Hello!
I'm still doing fine!
I ate something really delicious.... Pannenkoeken!
Pannenkoeken are not only a Dutch thing, but the Dutchies eat them the most
You can eat them with everything you like, we ate them with lots of sugar. Jummie!
At first you put what you like on it:
And then you roll it and then you can eat it like that or you can cut it in pieces:

Spijkenisse, Netherlands - 21st September 2011
By: Paulette088
Hello again!
It's me, for the last time from Spijkenisse!
I'm travelling to Germany, where Daniela is waiting for me!
I'm really excited to meet some new people and see some beautiful places! Also, I'm a little bit sad, because I had to leave Paulette, Koen and my new TV friend Tobbi.
I gave Tobbi a real big goodbye-hug!
And then I got into the envelope. Paulette bought a little gift for me, I could give to Daniela. I hope she'll like it!
And now I'm in the dark, travelling around in the Dutch mail system. I hope I'll arrive safely!
Goodbye Holland!

Heidelberg, Germany - 28th September 2011

I had to say good-bye to Melek today and hope he has a good time in Finland. However, a new TV called Sooky has just arrived and looks like a nice companion. Daniela will take more photos later on but she has just discovered that her daughter obviously took the camera to school as she can't find it anywhere. Here are the "Good-bye, Melek" photos at least which we already took yesterday.

As promised here's a photo of me and my new companion, the pig Sooky. She had brought some candies with her and was so kind to share them with me.

Dear Mum
Hi, it's me, Nook. Hope you're doing fine. I've made friends with Sammy. Do you remember him? It's the big cat who lives here. He actually had his 14th birthday last week. He dislikes other cats but he's very fond of huskies and we often talk to each other. The only bad thing about him is that he sleeps most of the time and doesn't even want to leave the flat. Sometimes he stays on the balcony but normally you find him on his blanket on the sofa. And you can believe me that he looses more hair than I do!
Have a nice weekend,
Nook

Hi Mum
I'm doing fine. Nuriayasmin will finish her night shifts tomorrow and then we have time to go out again. Today a new TV arrived. It's a ladybird called HelgaHH. She travelled all the way from Canada but originally comes from Germany, too. We were all very excited and gathered around the envelope.
Finally nuriayasmin opened it and HelgaHH came out and showed us the postcard and nice fridge magnet she had brought with her.
Bye for now. I will soon write to you again.
Nook
