today we went to a farm where BlackCat had to choose one pumpkin for the pumpkin carving she wants to do for Halloween.

It was a really hard choice, you can see there were thousands of pumpkins.

But she found one and I hope we can do pumpkin carving with her later.

Today we welcomed a new voyager here at BlackCats home.
His name is Spiker and he comes from the USA. Welcome Spiker!

Later today the sky turned grey and BlackCat got scared. Suddenly hail was coming down from the sky and we were all watching how it looked…BlackCat said not long and we will have snow. We will see. Snow is better than hail, I think.





I really hope the bad weather stops soon!

Hey mum,

today we went into the city and had a walk at the Thyssen Krupp quarter, which is really new.



This house is the so called „Stammhaus“ from Alfried Krupp and his family. It was totally destroyed in the Second World War, but 1960/61 an original rebuilt was built only 100meters away from the original place. It is a symbol for the beginnings of the Krupp area, which made Essen to the city it is now.

The black house in the background is the town hall. The one in the front is a car seller.



Here you can see what is next to the car seller. A furniture store (Kröger), Ikea and McDonalds.

Hey mum,

now we want to show you some German cars. BlackCat forgot what kind of cars they are, but she'll ask her boyfriend later and reupdate it then!

Today we visited the light weeks with BlackCat. It was opening today, so we saw a firework (sorry, we have no photos of that) and BlackCat showed us one of the pictures that are hanging around in Essen from the 30th October to the 7th January. Maybe we will show you more later!

Today was warm weather, so BlackCat said we need some culture. So we went to a museum called "Coal mine Nachtigall". I really hope you will like our photos. I am sorry, but I can't comment them all, as BlackCat can't find English descriptions to them all. If you have questions, feel free to write BlackCat and she will try to describe !

These kind of boats was used to transport the coal on the river Ruhr! Horses were pulling these boats.





BlackCat went into the visitor coal mine, but we weren't able to join here. She made some photos we want to show you! So you can see how it looked in a coal mine!

Today we welcomed a new ToyVoyager here. His name is BubbleGum and he is a little bear. I hope we will have a lot of fun together !

The car of BlackCats boyfriend got new winter tires today and the garage was in an industry part of Essen. So we had a walk while the car was in the garage. It was raining a bit, but that was okay. I hope you like the photos!

Wow....that's a long day, isn't it...3 updates on one day...but okay. After changing the tires we drove to Rheinberg. We wanted to visit a zoo for reptiles. But inside we weren't able to make photos with us...the glass of the terrariums was reflecting too much, so we made some photos of some animals and one in front of the zoo. Hope you'll like them.

Today we went into the inland water transportation history museum of Germany. It is in Duisburg. I am sorry, that we won't comment each picture, but BlackCat made 192 photos of toys on that day, so please don't be angry, okay? If you have any questions, you can ask her!

Today I said Goodbye to all my friends at BlackCats house. I am on my travel to my next host. See you soon again!

Hello Mum,

Today I arrived in Germany. And believe it or not – I met Dicker Kumpel, who is the best friend of Murph, who was my host a month ago. 

Dicker Kumpel gave me a warm welcome – and told me that he knows me from the photos of Murph and me.



Then he introduced me to his other guests.



I made a walk in the room – and thought of you, when I saw this heart. I miss you, Mum!



But then I met this friendly giraffe and now I am happy again!

We are so excited.

The GoldenBears Award 2011 started. We looked through the photos. The photos are great!

Fortunately there were some photos of some of us.

Dicker Kumpel is on some photos – we loved the one with Architecture…



…and a funny one with a flower in Best Plantlife.



We found a nice photo of Princess Sarah in Animal Magic…



…and a photo of Food and Drink with Squizzle – yummy!



There was no photo of me for this year – but no problem, I didn’t travel in 2010, but we are sure to see me here for the next award.
