Wynnum West, Australia - 12th July 2011
By: Lonesomewanderer
Hello from Australia! I'm sorry it's taken me so long to write here, but there was a HUGE mix up at the post office and somehow I was diverted to SINGAPORE! There was a stamp on my package explaining the diversion when I arrived. My hosts Bec, Blake and their kitten Jemima seem pretty friendly. Bec says she is getting ready to go to night shift so it will be a few days before we can do something interesting and get photos. But that's okay...I'm pretty jet lagged after my loooong journey. I'm quite happy to hang here and meet all of Bec's stuffed animals. I bet I can make some new friends. Signing off for now,
Ragsie

Stradbroke Island, Australia - 6th September 2011
By: Lonesomewanderer
Hi Everyone,
I'm sorry I haven't updated my travelog in awhile, but Bec and I went on an impromptu adventure to Stradbroke Island. Stradbroke is a tiny island off the mainland of Queensland. It's inhabited, but you have to take a 2 hour ferry ride to get to it. They have no hospital, but a nurse practitioner lives on the island to take care of the residents. The nurse that lives there had to unexpectedly go visit family on the mainland for a long period, so Bec got to take her job for a few weeks. Unfortunately this meant no internet access for me to write home, but here I am, safe and sound!
I've had so many adventures - I have helped Bec bake cupcakes for the RSPCA cake day, to help raise money for animal welfare.
I've visited the beach many times - on Stradbroke Island, we even saw whales!
I've been to a wedding!
And a birthday party for Bec's neice's second birthday. The fairy bread was particlarly good.
But the best news of all is - in 2 weeks I'm getting on a plane bound for FIJI! I get to spend 2 weeks exploring with Bec and Blake. I'm super excited.
Talk soon,
Ragsie!
