Philip meets a curious creature in the garden. Other homes might have gnomes, but Phillip's family has F3, the armadillo. He was named after the F3 tornado went north of town in 2003, just a few weeks before F3 joined the family.

Philip likes animals. Here he visits with the friendly, white cat named Biscuit; two chinchillas, and some goldfish!

Phillip went to church with his family today. He got a warm greeting at the door, and checked out the guest book!

Phillip checks out the local countryside. He is preparing to journey to England to visit Leslee and wanted to take a last look around before he goes. He saw llama's in the Boyer's field, noted that the water level has gone down on the Neosho River, and admired the wildflowers while watching those wild springtime clouds.

Phillip takes a last look around town with his family. He shops the Diamond Daisy, stops for a break with the kids, looks at all the dogs available for adoption through the local animal rescue, and checks out some handsome cowboy boots! Kansas is cowboy country, after all!

As Phillip prepares to go on his journey to England, he has a farewell luncheon with his family at their favorite local restaurant, El Charro! He appreciates the cheerful atmosphere (pictures are of the front and west sides of the building- Phillip is really tiny in these two pics, see if you can spot him!) and enjoyed sharing chips, bean nachos, and vegetarian fajitas!
Bon voyage, Phillip! Enjoy England! :)

Bowling and Shopping, England - 1st June 2011

By: Leslee

Hi!
Big Owen had a friend to visit today but Leslee only has a very small apartment so we went out.

The boys and I agreed to to ten-pin-bowling.  We had to cycle there and it took about 40 minutes.  The bowling alley is at a shopping center on the outskirts of the town.
As soon as we got there I had to wait for them to have a shooting game.
http://i531.photobucket.com/albums/dd358/hipapotomus/keep.jpg

Here is me and my new freind Karlie (who is from Germany) having a bowling snack of a chocolate called Minstrels.  They are just like smarties but bigger and brown.
http://i531.photobucket.com/albums/dd358/hipapotomus/020keep.jpg

After the bowling we played airhockey.
http://i531.photobucket.com/albums/dd358/hipapotomus/038keep.jpg
Can you find Karlie?

Leslee said we had to go because we had spent too much money already and we had to go to the petshop.
http://i531.photobucket.com/albums/dd358/hipapotomus/049keep.jpg
We didn't have time for photos in the petshop, but this is what we bought for Leslee and Big Owen's pets.  I will have to show you them soon.

On the way home we stopped to play in the woods but I'll tell you about that later
Bye everyone, love from Phillip.

Clifton Backies, England - 1st June 2011

By: Leslee

Hi everyone, I have time to tell you about the woods on the way back from bowling yesterday.

http://i531.photobucket.com/albums/dd358/hipapotomus/055keep.jpg
The woods is in a big area saved for conservation and is also a great place for people to  come and play and bring their dogs for a walk.

We played hide and seek.
http://i531.photobucket.com/albums/dd358/hipapotomus/062keep.jpg
I hid.  Can you find me?

Big Owen's friend found me!
http://i531.photobucket.com/albums/dd358/hipapotomus/064keep.jpg

It was really good fun and great exercise.

xx love from Phillip

York Base Camp, England - 2nd June 2011

By: Leslee

Hello,

Today we went to the dentists which didn't take very long...
http://i531.photobucket.com/albums/dd358/hipapotomus/00tv3.jpg
and when we got back, Blinchick had arrived!
http://i531.photobucket.com/albums/dd358/hipapotomus/00tv6.jpg
I don't feel like the new guy any more :OD !

The weather was good and we all had a great day helping Leslee's dolly friend (Yewlee) to put a grassy carpet down in her new house.
http://i531.photobucket.com/albums/dd358/hipapotomus/024tv.jpg
Then we did more crafting outside.
http://i531.photobucket.com/albums/dd358/hipapotomus/035tv.jpg
I had great fun looking in Yewlee's box of things for her house.

I hope you are all well back home.  I do miss you all a bit but I am keeping busy here and have lots of company now,
Love you all,
Phillip.  xx

St Nicholas' Field, England - 4th June 2011

By: Leslee

Hello everyone, I just wrote you a very long update but Leslee said the internet was disconnected and it didn't send so here is a quick version of the last post!
Sorry

We went to the community furniture store to find a sofa because this one is not really a sofa and it is old, tatty and uncomfortable.
Blinchik(TV) found this one.
http://i531.photobucket.com/albums/dd358/hipapotomus/IMG_8253.jpg
Lesley said it was good because the legs come off and it might get past the bend in the staircase but she didn't like the colour much and it was a little bit too much money.

So then we went to the park at an eco centre and had a picnik and explored.
http://i531.photobucket.com/albums/dd358/hipapotomus/IMG_8287.jpg
http://i531.photobucket.com/albums/dd358/hipapotomus/IMG_8261.jpg
http://i531.photobucket.com/albums/dd358/hipapotomus/IMG_8279.jpg
I really liked this giant compost heap.  My TV friends were not impressed even when I suggest that they look at it for a bit longer.

We collected some wood for Leslee's dolly friend to make banisters with in her house.
http://i531.photobucket.com/albums/dd358/hipapotomus/IMG_8282.jpg
http://i531.photobucket.com/albums/dd358/hipapotomus/IMG_8300.jpg

But then we were so tired we all fell asleep on Leslee's bed.
http://i531.photobucket.com/albums/dd358/hipapotomus/IMG_8295.jpg

I shouls be going with everyone to York town today and might get to see some historical builings.
(Leslee is having trouble with her camers/computer and keeps loosing photos but is doing her best to make sure I don't miss anything here to show you.)

Take care everyone xx
Phillip
