Melek went to church with the host family, for a special Christmas eve service. There were traditional songs, Christmas themed stories, and a Nativity play!

Melek went to Garnett with the host family, to drop off a friend. On the way out of town, they stopped by the South Lake to stretch their legs and enjoy the sunshine. There is a park and the American Legion building there.

Dove (the doggie) wished Melek a Merry Christmas! Melek was so excited! He really enjoyed watching the presents get unwrapped!

Melek hung out with the kids again today! They went to the elementary school playground. The school just got a new fort, which was made and donated by one of the janitors! The kids said he must love them!

Melek helped make the last breakfast of the year! It was a delicious sandwich made with slices of granny smith apple, peanut butter, and toasted raisin bread!

Melek went to Aquarium Wholesale and watched the saltwater fish today. The fish kept hiding, so he admired the coral!

One of the TVs in our group has a life goal of visiting cemeteries, so host mom took us to see the old Iola cemetery. Some of the headstones date back to the 1800s. Some of them are quite elaborate, while others are quite plain!
