Travelog for: Kali

Another quiet day at home. Kali made friends with a zombie kitten.

Kali and the other TVs were excited to go to the dance studio sign ups with the host family. They explored the shelves and Kali found shoes and speakers.

Kali was excited to go geocaching in Garnett, Kansas! The geomate jr. directed the group to a little park on the square, where they found the first geocache! On the way to find the next one, they stopped to say hello to a robin in a store front window. The next geocache was in a garden area. It took a little help from a nice man, but we found it!

On the way out of town, the group stopped at the South Lake to enjoy the scenery. Kali thought it was great fun to walk on the  bridge, across the water. She took a look at the algae by the shore and decided it was best to not swim.

Kali was so happy when it started to rain and the heat wave broke for the afternoon. The kids were so happy that they danced in the rain!

It's getting close to time for school to start so the boys took Kali and the other TVs on a tour of some of the schools in town.

On the way to take some hedgehogs to the vet for a health certificate, Kali stopped to admire a pump jack. Southeast Kansas has many of them!

Kali was thrilled to go to the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art! The first thing she saw was some African fertility statues. She like the stone carving that had been part of a Chinese tomb decoration. In the statues area, she was so happy to see Shiva! There was a fascinating little display on cricket keeping that made Kali smile. Kali thought the paintings were lovely. The scumaks were fascinating red blobs and there was a landscape that reminded her of the Kansas plains. Kali wasn't sure who the white statue was supposed to be, but she liked it.

Kali and the other TVs went to a church supper at RiverTree today.

Kali took a sneak peak at the ribbons that arrived today, for the upcoming hedgehog show!

Kali tagged along on a visit to the optometrist's today. She found all sorts of interesting things to explore!

Kali got to explore the middle school today, tagging along as the kids went to get lockers assigned.

Today the kids were all ready for school with their back packs and big smiles! Kali was excited to see them so happy!

Kali was so excited to go to Motaku (an anime convention) with her host family this weekend. The hotel room was so full of costumes and things that Kali couldn't find a spot to sit at first! She was happy to meet Honekoneko (Bone Kitty). Hanging out in the hallway was a great place to people watch. She met some lovely ball joint dolls and invited herself to tea Then, she met the Cheshire cat, on the way to the Mad Hatter's tea. She got to watch the costume contest, once the host family got off stage (they won best in show!).

Kali got just as bored as the kids while waiting for the middle school band meeting to be over!
