Victoria Harbour, Hong Kong - 2nd November 2011

By: vivyanhui

Then I came to the pier, and saw the green and white ferry.
Each Star Ferry has their own name, like "Morning Star", "Night Star", "Shining Star" so on...
That's cool!  :)

On my way to the Hong Kong Island, I need to cross the Victoria Harbour.
There are 3 cross-harbour tunnels, but I love ferry more~
I can see the clock tower and the cultural centre,
also the highest building ICC here.
There are really lots of skyscrapers here along the two sides of the Victoria Harbour!

Central Ferry Pier, Hong Kong - 2nd November 2011

By: vivyanhui

After about 8 minutes, I am in the Hong Kong Island,
I landed at Central, which is the business district of Hong Kong.

You can see that it's not built in a modern style,
but a western style, just like the old buildings.  :stare:

Sheung Wan, Hong Kong - 2nd November 2011

By: vivyanhui

Behind me is the Western Market, it sed to be a wet market in the past,
but now preserved and became restaurant and popular cloth selling place,
where many people will come here to choose nice fabric to make clothes.

It's style is quite similar to the Central Ferry Pier, but they are not the same!  :)

Sheung Wan, Hong Kong - 2nd November 2011

By: vivyanhui

In Sheung Wan, there are many old buildings,
I find it funny to see modern style buildings next to them.

This is the Sun Yat Sen Memorial Park,
a giant statue of Mr Sun was set in the middle of the park.
There is a chinese style plate at the entrance of the park,
and a remarkable chime tower too.

A few artistic sculptures are placed in the park,
the one behind us is the chinese words of "equal",
which is in written in an abstract and artistic way.

Hong Kong Island, Hong Kong - 11th November 2011

By: vivyanhui

Hong Kong is crowded with many different buildings and skyscrappers,
that makes the skyline so unique.
Most of them have their decorative lights on at night too.

Prehistoric Story Room, Hong Kong - 16th November 2011

By: vivyanhui

Prehistoric Story Room is a newly opened exhibition gallery,
in which kinds of fossils like Ammonites, Trilobites, Dunkleosteus and o on.
Some of them are even found in the territory of Hong Kong long time ago!

I was so shocked and happy to find a huge bone at the entrance,
dogs will always be happy to see bones~~  B)

Other than rocks, there are two big replica of the dinosaurs, cool!

And at the middle of the gallery, there is a huge model of Dunkleosteus,
I don;t know if this is the correct name, but it means "dino-fish",
which is believed to be the biggest animal ever,
even bigger than dinosaurs, with about 8-10 feet long!!!!  :o

It is also funny to see the copals too, the insects inside are alive more than millions ago...
They were trapped by the tree juice at that time,
though they died but still "alive" after so many years...  ;)

There is even a meteor rock called "Seymchan Meteorite",
it was found in Russia in 1967.
