Hello, wonderful world! 

It is not long since I was transformed from a tadpole into a frog, and everything is new and interesting for me!

I´m ready to investigate everything in different corners of the earth! 



Ooh this mushroom is of same color with me!

My mentor Henna just told me I already have my first host waiting for me! 
I need still an ID tag, and then I´m ready to go, yippee!

Hello dear Henna!

I am in Sacramento!  It is super hot here ... like 40 degrees!  So I was happy to get out of my travelope.  I met some really nice toyvoyagers here, like Dottie Mouse, Cherry Lola, Aslan and Peach the Pooch.  And even though there are so many plushies here, I have enough chocky coins for everyone.  Thank you, Henna, for thinking ahead. 

Everything is so new and interesting here.  And Miss Kate seems okay.    More than okay!  I'm happy here!

We went for a walk today with Beans the dog.

Hi Henna!

I am still just hanging out with Dottie Mouse here in Sacramento, but these days the weather is cooling down a bit ... just a little bit ... from hot to warm.  It's really nice.  So we took a walk around the Capitol.  I was hoping to find a pond or a demonstration, but ... no luck!    Still, it's a nice place.

Hello dear mentor Henna!

We caught a news program about the Occupy Wall Street demonstrations.  There are lots of people in New York City.


And in cities all over like D.C.


Then Miss Kate told us that they had been occupying Sacramento for 4 days.  Look at those signs!  That's the demonstration of my dreams, Henna! 



So we drove down to Cesar Chavez park and, well, you can see for yourself.    I think there were just a few people sitting around talking about demonstrating!    Oh, well!    My life mission is not yet complete, but I'm still hopeful!

Hello Henna!

Aslan, Dottie Mouse and I joined Zarafeh and Miss Kate for a drive to a very special occasion this morning.  Actually, two very special occasions, the 2nd Toyvoyager Meetup and the 3rd Postcrossing Meetup in San Francisco, California.  Yipee!

P.S. The best part is I got to see someone very dear to you and me.  I'll let you guess who, but her name rhymes with "Shmorkku Shmorava".  Can you guess?? 

Hello Henna and everyone!

We had so much fun yesterday.  I wish you could’ve been there. 

Here is the lovely old-fashioned Italian restaurant we went to in San Francisco. 


Miss Kate explained to us that this was a postcrossing meetup.  Well, and because LittleCableCars was there, too, it was a toyvoyaging meetup, too!  Pretty cool, huh?

And here’s the special little person waiting for us when we got there. 

Do you recognize her?    I thought you would. 

We had such a nice chat about our travels.  Orkku Orava has seen so much of the world, and we also talked about the mushrooms and coffee on an open fire and the little red cabin in the woods and you.  All the things we miss in Finland.



Besides my squirrel comrade, I also met Airi and Robby and, of course, LittleCableCars.  They are all so nice.  Robby was especially happy because he comes from a big family of toyvoys and humans with his mentor fam-united.



The postcrossers were really nice and showed us some of their beautiful cards.  And I think we may have brought a new member or two to the toyvoyager site.  I hope so!



We ate lunch while we worked on writing postcards to our mentors as well as to the hosts of Miss Kate’s and LittleCableCars' toyvoys all over the world. 



After a few hours of chatting and signing, it was time to say goodbye.  Orkku Orava came over to squeak a last goodbye to Aslan, Dottie Mouse and me before going in the travel purse.


The drive home was much faster than the drive there.  Isn’t that how it always is. 



We had a lot to talk about, but Aslan was getting a bit sleepy.



Then I was getting a bit sleepy, too.

P.S.  It was such an old-fashioned restaurant that I asked Miss Kate to take one real old-type photograph of me just for you.  I hope you like it.

Hi Henna!

We went shopping today for Saturday's pumpkin-carving party!

Happy Halloween everyone!

We went to the Midtown Trick or Treat and Pooch Parade today.  We only saw a few pooches – that means dogs – but we did see a whole lot of kids in costumes going from store to store to get treats.



This dog had the headless horseman on his back.  Such a big dog!  Me and 2 dozen other toyvoyagers wouldn’t weigh him down!



We also saw something I really enjoyed .. Day of the Dead.  It’s a holiday in Mexico and many places. 



There was a display of the foods of Dia de los Muertos.



And there was an altar celebrating laborers who have died.



There were children putting gold speckles on paper masks.



There was music, too, but it was in Spanish so I was  a little confused about what he was saying.  But he seemed happy and upbeat. 



Isn’t this a colorful way to honor those who have passed?

Then we went home to prepare dinner for the night’s pumpkin-carving party.

It was a great dinner and pumpkin-carving party, but we slept through most of it.  Pitzelpatz has jet lag still I think, and I find that bear to be so warm and cosy I didn't want to wake up! 

But we enjoyed seeing the jack-o-lanterns.

This one has nice big eyes like mine.



This one has a cute round nose like Pitzelpatz's.



Here's one with a cool bumpy nose.  Scary with lights on and scarier with the lights off.   

Hello Henna!

Miss Kate was so excited to get a postcard from her Zoe.  She showed it to everyone with the man and the beard and the kitten. 

Today where there was a living room, there are sleeping bags and sleeping pads and pillows and a camping stove and lantern and apples and all kinds of stuff.  I wonder where we're going!

Hello Henna!

We were off on our trip.  I was so excited!  Here I was looking at Mount Tam, our destination.  Miss Kate said we’re spending the weekend on the other side of that mountain near the ocean.  Tam is short for Tamalpais.  It's a Native American word that means "woman lying down."  Can you see the woman?  She looks very relaxed staring up at the puffy clouds.



Then we left the main highway and turned onto Highway 1 to go along the coast.



We took a pit stop at the Pelican Inn.  It’s a lovely English pub and restaurant with an open fire on a brisk day.  I checked, of course, and found NO frog legs on the menu.  I love those Brits! 




The Pacific Ocean!  I do so enjoy visiting watery places! 


We arrived!  Just in time to unpack, make dinner and build a fire.

What a great night’s sleep we had!  We got up refreshed and decided to take a look around our little cabin.



It was nice to see the morning flowers.
   


Then later Miss Kate’s friend took us on a long walk along the cliff.  Miss Kate stayed near the fire with a magazine and said something about the bleeping cold.  I don’t know what bleeping means. 





What I didn’t tell you, Henna, is that it wasn’t just Pitzelpatz and me on this trip.  Carmen, Crawfish, Peach the Pooch and Aslan came with us.  We watched birds and played card games.



We also rather enjoyed the view!



As the sun went low in the sky, we watched the sun set and found ways to stay warm till bedtime.

Hello Henna!

It was time to leave our lovely cabin at Steep Ravine.
   


But first we went to the town of Bolinas, where there are lots of artists and hippies and surfers.  Miss Kate knew where it was, which is good because the sign to show where it is never last more than a day or two.






Then we drove out to the lagoon to look at the birds and harbor seals.



 




Then we crossed the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge to go home.  It was really fun!  I hope you can go with us next time!
