Ahlen, Germany - 3rd November 2011

By: LoganCarter

Hey Mum,

Isy and me went on a train journey to Ahlen today. One of her friends lives there.
Today we're gonna make cinnamon rolls and fried Oreo cookies.
I will post pictures later.

Hope you're having a great time.
Miss you lots.

Ahlen, Germany - 4th November 2011

By: LoganCarter

Hi Mum,

today, Isy, Tina and me went to the park first and then we made some cinnamon rolls. Also, I upload some pictures from yesterday when I helped Isy with making a Lasagne.
How are you doing, Mommy? Isy is really nice to me and her friend, too. But I miss you, though.

http://img411.imageshack.us/img411/5458/bild143a.jpg
Look, I cut those sweet, red pepper all by myself ;)

http://img685.imageshack.us/img685/6220/bild144e.jpg
And I also helped with cutting the mushrooms.

http://img853.imageshack.us/img853/2363/bild157.jpg
Doesn't that look cool? It's part of a tree we found in the city today. There were a lot of spiders in the hole but I was very brave and just sat in there. Nobody got hurt, not even the spiders.

http://img85.imageshack.us/img85/1046/bild158h.jpg
The walk was so exhausting, so I'm just hanging around here.

http://img339.imageshack.us/img339/7528/bild150y.jpg
And look at those lovely cinnamon rolls (of course I helped making them). They are so delicious! You have to make them when I am back home. ;)

That's all from me for now.
Have a nice evening, Mommy.

P.S.: I made new friends here already. Look:
http://img585.imageshack.us/img585/1320/dsci0102t.jpg
They are really, really nice to me. (Sparky, the dog, Dustin, the polar bear and Justin, the beaver)

Essen, Germany - 7th November 2011

By: LoganCarter

Hey Mommy,

we came back to Essen yesterday and planned on going ouside today but the weather was really bad today so we stayed in and baked some cookies called ''Snickerdoodle''. Funny name, isn't it? Isy and me watched an episode of Big Time Rush yesterday and they baked those cookies in it so Isy wanted to try them. I helped her, of course.

I helped putting them on the baking tray.
http://img220.imageshack.us/img220/5067/pict1973.jpg

Oh, mommy, they are sooo delicious!
http://img821.imageshack.us/img821/867/pict1974.jpg

http://img695.imageshack.us/img695/5582/pict1975.jpg

http://img836.imageshack.us/img836/2285/pict1976v.jpg

Isy is sorry that the pictures are a bit blurry but she isn't feeling very good today and was shaking a lot earlier.

Tomorrow, we're going to do some really cool stuff. Isy told me, but, Mommy, I'm not telling you cause it's gonna be a surprise for you. ;)

Missing you, Mommy!

Essen, Germany - 27th November 2011

By: LoganCarter

Hello Mummy,

today, my host decorated her room for Christmas. She's not really into Christmas decoration so it doesn't really look good but ah well. I had lots of fun with the decoration and Isy took some pictures.

And tomorrow, Isy will bring me to the post office to send me to my next host.

I will talk to you when I get there.

Take care.
I love you, Mommy.

Hello Mammi-Mausi,

I am now on my way to my next host.
Isy took picture before and of my departure but her camera is not working at the moment. She's trying to fix it so she can upload the pictures.

Have a great December, Mammi, and don't forget to open the first door of your advent calender today.

Until the real Muggel Rainbow is coming to the right way his twin will travel instead.
I hope Logan Carter has sent Muggel Rainbow off to the next host, or that he has a stopp in a post station somewhere in Germany, and maybe he will come up from the ground of  a packet-mountain somehow.

I keep my fingers crossed for him!

Hello Mummy,
finally I arrived in Remscheid - what a horrible long trip!

My host Katja helped me to unpack all my things. I brought a little crib with me, an adorable little mouse for my host, a Christmas ornament and some little secrets :) My host really loves the cute mouse :)

Hi Mummy,
today we thought we had to go for a walk, although the weather is still horrible. There is fog and drizzling rain, but nontheless we went outside.

We went to the municipal park to the district Hasten.

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7025/6574985187_9e140ddabf_o.jpg

Hasten is one of the oldest districts of the city, with a lot of lovely old houses. You can find those typical houses which are covered with slate, also half-timbered houses.

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7161/6574985571_d083e875e8_o.jpg

The German Tool Museum is situated in Remscheid-Hasten. Its outdoor facility with large machines is freely accessible.

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7161/6574986375_ebaa6f2d6f_o.jpg

This is "Haus Cleff", also a museum. It is a Patrician Villa, built in late 18th century.

We were glad when Katja told that we had suffered enough rain than :) On our way home ...

Wuppertal, Germany - 28th December 2011

By: olgamaus

Hi Mummy,
after work we went to Katja's friend Kerstin today, to take a walk with her dog in Scharpenacken, a former army training area. This area was used for military purposes until 2004 A.D as a shooting range. Today there is a local recreation area with vast open areas.
In the background you can see a housing area in Wuppertal, famous for its exquisite villas built by factory owners.

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7162/6611763551_1357f297c6_o.jpg

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7014/6611763671_3d30eac94e_o.jpg

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7144/6611763813_0737c4da9f_o.jpg

This area will be re-natured in the coming years.

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7141/6611751305_44c6e5be7d_o.jpg

Not long since we started our walk it began to rain again.

In the middle of the forest you can find a lovely landscape park, built by the former owner of the Vorwerk Company. Katja told us that this would be a lovely place in spring time, summer and autumn, but now it is a only muddy place.

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7173/6611763953_058c2ab6e9_o.jpg

The weather is really disgusting!!! When we walked back to the car on a rarely frequented path we found one of the old warning signs. Thankfully today nobody has to be afraid to get shot, but to drown!

Remscheid, Germany - 31st December 2011

By: olgamaus

Hi Mummy,
we went to Katja's sister-in-law's family today to celebrate the last day of the year. When we arrived, there already was everything prepared for Raclette.

There were lots of vegetables like sweet pepper, carrots, mushrooms, tomatoes, than there was beef and chicken meat, salmon, bread, potatoes and much more. Of course there was a lot of cheese :)

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7001/6614069711_b850a5999b_o.jpg

Later we called a card game called "Dominion".

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7001/6614070641_5d09ecf348_o.jpg

At midnight we all had a glass of sparkling wine.

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7005/6660530901_839dbc1f39_o.jpg

Happy New Year!

Wuppertal, Germany - 1st January 2012

By: olgamaus

Hi Mummy,
we visited friends in Wuppertal today, Katja is knowing them for ages. They also have ferrets as pets. Although the weather is still really bad we took a short walk in the city centre before we went to the friend's apartment.

Here you can see the "Schwebebahn", a suspension railway. It travels along a route of 13.3 kilometres (8.3 mi), at a height of about 12 metres (39 ft 4 in) above the river Wupper. At some places it is crossing streets, even the motorway A 46.

Due to the not ending rain the river Wupper is carrying much more water than usual.

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7008/6614111735_1aac05bdd9_o.jpg

One of the shopping malls is overspanning the street.

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7008/6614112103_cd173d08a7_o.jpg

In the background you can see the historical city hall of Wuppertal.

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7013/6614112747_c16d9226f2_o.jpg

Here you can see the Schwebebahn crossing a street.

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7018/6614113691_c0611c63b7_o.jpg

A train was coming by.

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7016/6614113979_66acd044ff_o.jpg

Each of the 20 stations is built in a different style, this one in a modern style.

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7164/6614114919_53bd3b6265_o.jpg

We hurried to visit the friends than, we already sere soaking wet and were afraid that we might catch a cold.

Remscheid, Germany - 8th January 2012

By: olgamaus

Hi Mummy,
every update starts with the words "the weather is still a mess", so also today. Nothing changed so far. Although we took a short walk today. First we went to the municipal park to the district Hasten.

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7022/6660113401_15c2c26c85_o.jpg

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7030/6660113683_49348394bc_o.jpg

In Hasten you can often find dwellings and historical company buildings close together.

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7020/6660114037_d40b4f06e2_o.jpg

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7153/6660114351_bd6feac2a3_o.jpg

In the background you can see the outskirts of Wuppertal.

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7023/6660114525_bbe50dd07d_o.jpg

Along the main street in the valley between Wuppertal and Remscheid you can find a lot of industrial sites. Along the creeks in the valley industrialization started in middle ages here, even nowadays there are still a lot of companies which exist for centuries.

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7026/6660114841_8832e24917_o.jpg

In the background you can see Hasten now, from here we had to walk straight uphill to get home.

Remscheid, Germany - 10th January 2012

By: olgamaus

Hi Mummy,
after having horrible weather all the time since before Christmas we went out with Katja today to buy some things. It was not raining today until we went out in our lunch break, but in the afternoon it started to rain again.

This is one of the churches in the city centre. A farmers market is taking place here on Tuesday and Friday.

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7165/6674601589_cc1446b57f_o.jpg

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7034/6674601765_190b26b2c5_o.jpg

A new train station was built and opened about two years ago. This year in autumn a bridge for pedestrians was finally finsihed, it is crossing a multilane, now you don't have to wait at pedestrian lights for ages.

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7171/6674601905_e03aaf54e5_o.jpg

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7146/6674602057_c112c2cde4_o.jpg

We nearly reached the shopping mall at the train station. From here you can look towards the city centre.

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7172/6674602357_0543b10ef4_o.jpg

When we finished our shopping we had to hurry back to the law firm.

Cyde was leaving today. I took this last chance to take a ride on his back.

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7141/6674602503_8398f410da_o.jpg

It was really fun :D

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7019/6674602693_5eb7e0aee9_o.jpg

Good-bye Clyde!
