Oklahoma City, OK, United States - 29th October 2011
By: klubwerks
I was afraid I wouldn't arrive in time for the Steampunk convention, but I actually arrived just in time to participate in the Halloween festivities! We made me a Halloween collar before the parade and had some Taco Bell for lunch.
The Ghouls Gone Wild parade was a lot of fun! It was really dark, so the photos were hard to take. Sorry for the poor quality on those. My host Amelia also made some videos of the parade:
Ghouls Gone Wild 1/3
Ghouls Gone Wild 2/3
Ghouls Gone Wild 3/3
Afterwards, we had dinner at Crabtown. I tried spicy fried calamari, which is octopus, and we had a crab and shrimp boil. Then we went to the movies to see The Three Musketeers in 3D. I got to get some photos infront of the fountain and plants around the threater, and in an old style phone booth inside the restaruant we ate at.
When we got home we put my letter, the wrapper for the candy I brought, the movie ticket, and the glow in the dark bands into Amelia's memory book. Monday is Halloween and there will be more festivies. Then we relax for a week until we leave for the Steampunk convention on November 2nd.

Oklahoma City, OK, USA - 30th October 2011

I ate at Freddy's and went for a walk in a nice neighborhood. It was chilly out in the evening, but not too cold yet. We met an old man with a huge house and cute little dog. He was very friendly and said this neighborhood was a great place for walking and very scenic. Most of the houses around here had Halloween decorations up.

Another exciting night for Airship Horizons. Oh, yeah, I forgot to mention. My host is Cpt. Amelia Reinier of Airship Horizons, and Toki is a mechanic for the Airship. They are a steampunk group here in Oklahoma. In fact, we are going to the Emerald City Steampunk Expo for the weekend.
My new collar looks a little steampunk with the little bolts and gears <3
In the meantime, we had fun helping to make a turkey (which isn't done yet), going to a Five Finger Death Punch concert and welcoming some other TV's to join us for this weekend. Meet Toki, Paul, Charles, and Myka....

We added more stuff to the memory book! We added our concert tickets, the flyer for Emerald City, and some other stuff. I met some of Toki's friends, Fleece (pez sheep) and Mulvane (pink lion). They aren't voyagers, but they have a lot of fun with the TV's here in Oklahoma City.
It's been a nice easy day.

Cpt. Cedric Greyhawk Whittaker of Airship Isabella and Ambassador Mordecai Hale posed in a professional photo with me and the other Toyvoyagers who went to the Expo with me. Airship Isabella are wonderful people! They make and sell really awesome Steampunk items. Not only that, but they share resources! They are more than happy to answer questions, give you advice in making your own stuff, and love seeing what you can make. They take commissions on a lot of various Steampunk related things.
I highly recommend checking out their website and forums, especially if you want to learn more about Steampunk, Airships, and Sky Captains!
The rest of the photos are of me (and the other TV's) at the convention. Cpt Amelia of Airship Horizons (our host) took the other photos.

We're making Steampunk ornaments for Christmas! The tiny baubles were for experimenting and they turned out wonderfully! We have bigger ones to work on later, but next we're working on Steampunk Snowmen (soft toys). These will be experimental too, but I bet they'll turn out great.

Oklahoma City, OK, United States - 24th November 2011

My host tells me that a long time ago, Pilgrims came to America, from England, to get away from religious persecution and the Native Americans helped them survive on the land and taught them many things. Religious persecution is the mistreatment of people because of their religious beliefs. The Pilgrims actually thought that this was India, which is why they called the Native Americans "Indians". There was a big feast that the Pilgrims and "Indians" had together in late November, but no one knows exactly when, so now Thanksgiving Day is on the fourth Thursday in November.
There was more history in this time including the Native Americans being forced off their land. Oklahoma is part of the Trail of Tears where Native Americans were marched into reservations and many of them died. This part of the history is quite terrible and sad. However, they still celebrate Thanksgiving Day in America and it's all about giving thanks for what you have and being with your family.
I got to enjoy Thanksgiving with my Host Amelia and several other TV's and we all helped out with making dinner...
Mischa's Paul
Katie's Charles
MamiTig's Myka
Ina's Schnattchen
Xadrian's Drashuven
Mellialida's Mr.Shawn
GubbL's Kalso
Klubwerks (my host) Toki, Mulvane (Mully), Fleece, and Chico
So, yeah... I was helping with the crescent rolls but they were turning out weird. Toki had to show me how to roll them correctly, and then the rest turned out great! Ha ha ha.

Here are all the pictures of us decorating the tree that we didn't finish. We're now planning to get a white tree that will make it easier to see all the detailed prnaments. A lot of the Steampunk ornaments are dark, so it's not as easy to see them on the current tree.
