The next day...

This morning was very cold!
We snuggled into the warm blanket.


After breakfast we drove to Cologne.


BineHH: Where is the cathedral?

Me: Well, over there he is!


Boofle: I see I have not even ....

Rapunzel: I see him, I see him.

BineHH: Yes, I too now!

Boofle: He's so big!


From here I had a nice view of the Cologne Cathedral.


These three buildings are very modern flats behind me. They should look like old cranes on the Rhine.


Behind me is the great railway bridge over the Rhine.


We wanted to take the cable car over the Rhine, but unfortunately it didn't work.
Then we made our way home.

We saw airplanes again...

On the way home I thought to myself: It was really a very nice trip!


Our hosts told us that we go away again next week for a few days ... I'm curious where we go!

Hi!

Today we were again in Wuerzburg and  we had a little more time to take pictures.

This is the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the baroque residence and Franconiafountain. It was built from 1719 - 1744




Here I am on the Main. Behind me is the "Old Crane".


This is the fortress 'Marienberg'. It was built around 1200.


This is the church "Kaeppele" (Chapel). She was built vom 1748 - 1750 from Balthasar Neumann.


This is the "Alte Mainbrücke" (Old Main Bridge).

Hello!

Today we packed our bags! But my hosts did't tell me where we go ....

I see nothing! Too much fog ...


Here is a little snow. Where could we be?


And here is yet more snow!


We are in the beautiful Upper-Bavaria!
This is our home for the next few days - the hotel "Alter Hof"  in Vaterstetten near Munich.


We  have a bed for us alone!


In the afternoon we visited relatives of my host mother in Munich: Aunt Gerda is a 86 year old lady and Uncle Bruno and his wife Gerlinde.

Tomorrow we take a trip to the mountains!

Winter-Wonderland-Tour

Then we drove to  "Starnberger See".
This house is in Irschenhausen. It is known, because it is in the German crime series "Der Bulle von Toelz" (The cop from Toelz).

And this is the "Schliersee".


Behind me is the peak of the mountain "Wendelstein". He is 1838 meters high.


Behind me you see the mountain "Wilder Kaiser" and the "Kaiser Mountains" in Austria.


Here we are at the "Chiemsee",  also called the "Bavarian Sea".


The gull is hopefully nice to us...


On the way home we see children go sleigh.


We are all very tired after this long day ...
But we still enjoy the setting sun.

Today we are unfortunately already gone back home ...

We stopped briefly in Munich.
It was very cold and there was freezing rain ...

This is the "Chinese Tower" in the English Garden.

Puuh! After 3 hours of driving we were back at home ...

We just back as the postwoman came. And what she brought us?
An envelope. Whether this is probably a new TV?

Look! It is Blou Beer from South Africa! We all welcome him warmly!


He has traveled very far. Nearly 16,000 km! He  shows us on the PC where he comes from.


Do I ever travel so far away from home?

Hello!
I have finally arrived to Spain, I'm so happy.
I was received by a very eager toyvoyager called Capote, at first I was a bit shy

but after greeting him I saw there was no doubt we will be great friends.

After I delivered a note my mommy sent to my hosts, I was told I arrived just in time and that we would be going on a roadtrip! Good thing I love to travel.
The road in Spain was very nice, and I got to see many beautiful sights. I really liked some bulls we saw along the way, they're an important animal in Spain:


Along the way I had the chance to talk to my hosts and Capote, he's a really good and happy dog. He told me a lot about the time he spent in Kansas, and we also spoke about our homes in Germany.


Along the road we saw many fields with olive trees or other plantations, solar power stations and wind power stations. All very pretty


After finally arriving we went to visit some friends of our hosts and there I got to pet a guinea pig!

He was very kind but also very afraid... even though he was a lot bigger and heavier than me!.

Oh well, I hope to finally get some rest after so much travel. But I'm really happy I'll get to see more than one Spanish city.

Today we got to visit downtown Madrid!,
Here's me with the fountain of Neptune, we also passed by a very similar one called the Cibeles fountain which is where the Real Madrid football fans celebrate their wins.


In a big souvenir store they had a very funny looking full size statue of Don Quixote:


We walked beside the Prado Museum. Here's Capote and me with a statue of the famous Spanish painter Velazquez:


And this is the entrance of museo del Prado:


After passing by there we went to the centric park called "El Retiro", it was very nice and with lots of gardens. And with a big pond with people on rowboats:

And just outside was the Puerta de Alcalá:


we then went to the main street in Madrid, the Gran Vía:

And from there walked to Sol, which is the a square where Spanish people greet the New Year.


And before ending our day's trip we passed by the Congress of Deputies, here we are with one of the big lion statues at the entrance:


I really like Madrid, there's many things to see, although we had to do a lot of walking and didn't have enough time to visit it all.

Today we went back to Madrid,
Here in the back you can see the four really big skyscrappers of Madrid known as the "Torres de la Castellana":

We went to the "Palacio de Oriente" which is the official residence of the kings of Spain.

We knocked on the door but apparently they weren't home. Next time we'll call before :

We went into the Almudena Cathedral and after walking many steps to the top of the bell tower here's the view towards the downtown of Madrid.

It was really rainy so it was good to be indoors.

We went to eat to a famous restaurant called the Caves of Luis Candela. A long time ago it was the hidding place of the famous thief.


And it was right below the main square of Madrid called Plaza Mayor:

Madrid was a really nice place. Hopefully some day I'll get to visit it again.

On the way to Granada we stopped at a placed called Despeñaperros, which has really nice mountains, here's me and Capote enjoying the view:

Today it was the "Día de las cruces" when the city gets full of red flower crosses, people get dressed in typical spanish dresses and there's a lot of music and dancing; it was really nice.

We had some nice dessert: strawberries and cream, and some churros!

Finally this is me at Plaza Nueva with the main regional courthouse for Andalucía which used to be a prison itself:

And we're on the road again! I know I have yet to see Granada properly, but there will be time for that later, as I had the oportunity to visit Munich again!
This time a new ToyVoyager joined us, his name is Kibblet , and here we are with Capote on the Madrid Metro:

and then in the Barajas Airport of Madrid it's very nice how the columns make a rainbow along the very long terminal.

Here's our airplane, as you can see we were very excited to go on it.

We took a train from the Munich airport to the city:

Shortly after arriving we went on a walk, luckily we arrived right on time for the Spring Festival, so our host had a typical sized Bavarian drink:

And then we went on a large Ferris Wheel to see the city landscape:



We visited the beautiful Nymphemburg castle:

It had a big front lawn surrounded by identical yellow houses.


From a bus I saw many buildings, some of the ones I saw the previous time I was in Munich, including the television tower and the 1971 Olympic Arena. But this time I took pictures of the O2 tower and the BMW factory buildings:

We also went for a walk in the English Garden, there I saw the Chinese tower again and then went to the nearby Hofgarten, here's the Bavarian State Chancellery:

We had to schedule some time to see the pretty figures of the "new" town hall's clock, the Rathaus-Glockenspiel, moving, it was quite enchanting to see:

It was very nice getting to go back to Munich, we all had a very nice time, but as you can see we were quite tired by the time we got to the Munich Airport.

In Madrid we took a short distance train from the airport.

I wonder how many modes of transportation I haven't been on already .
