Augsburg, Germany - 5th November 2011

By: Taru

Hey,
my name is Taru, the little black sheep.
I would like to travel around the world and find many new friends, but it is not easy for my family to let me go, but it is my biggest wish.

http://i42.tinypic.com/rmmbzo.jpg

Today I was in Augsburg. There, I said goodbye to my birthplace, the Augsburg Puppenkiste, Nature and many other things ...

Waltershausen, Germany - 18th November 2011

By: iloveletters

My host was busy this week with her job. She is a teacher and today she took us with her to school.

The school and the building is already over 200 years old. It was refurbished about 5 years ago.

http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f244/iloveletters/Taru/P1000341.jpg

In the school park there are busts of the founder and a famous teacher.

http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f244/iloveletters/Taru/P1000346.jpg

http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f244/iloveletters/Taru/P1000343.jpg

And then we went to my host's classroom and waited for the pupils to come.

http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f244/iloveletters/Taru/P1000353.jpg

http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f244/iloveletters/Taru/P1000354.jpg

I waited at the window and had a nice view at the school ground and the pond.

http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f244/iloveletters/Taru/P1000351.jpg

On the teacher's desk I met these two guys: Ella and Don. They are two mascotts from the US. I told them about my journey and thea thought it was a cool idea for them to do this one day, too.

Gotha, Germany - 23rd November 2011

By: iloveletters

We visited Gotha, a town about 15 km from the village.
Let's see where to go and what to see.

http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f244/iloveletters/Taru/P1000404.jpg

We went to the market square and the city church.

http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f244/iloveletters/Taru/P1000396.jpg

Next was the small market square called the butter market.

http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f244/iloveletters/Taru/P1000397.jpg

At the moment they are preparing the christmas market in town, that's why there are all the wooden huts in the streets. And strange furniture like this huge chair. Can you see me?

http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f244/iloveletters/Taru/P1000398.jpg

The red building in the background is the town hall.

http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f244/iloveletters/Taru/P1000399.jpg

We came across a statue of the patron saint St. Gothardus.

http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f244/iloveletters/Taru/P1000400.jpg

And then up the main square with the Christmas market.
We did not go to the castle Friedenstein, though you can see it in the background.

http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f244/iloveletters/Taru/P1000401.jpg

http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f244/iloveletters/Taru/P1000402.jpg

The houses on the left side also belonged to famous people like Luther.

Then we went back to the townhall.

http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f244/iloveletters/Taru/P1000403.jpg

http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f244/iloveletters/Taru/P1000405.jpg

Last but not least here is a picture of the old hospital.

Kitchen, Mechterstädt, Germany - 25th November 2011

By: iloveletters

Time to bake Christmas cookies!

We, Monkez, Taru and Harold helped our host to bake cookies.
There were tons of ingredients on the table, which we might need.

http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f244/iloveletters/Taru/P1000407.jpg

But first we had to read the recipes.

http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f244/iloveletters/Taru/P1000409.jpg

http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f244/iloveletters/Taru/P1000408.jpg

We decided to make different kinds of bakery product and
started with the Quarkstollen.

Eggs, flower, raisins, curd cheese, sugar....

http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f244/iloveletters/Taru/P1000411.jpg

http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f244/iloveletters/Taru/P1000412.jpg

Then we mixed the dough.

http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f244/iloveletters/Taru/P1000414.jpg

And into the oven.

http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f244/iloveletters/Taru/P1000417.jpg

http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f244/iloveletters/Taru/P1000420.jpg

While the Stollen was baking, we prepared the dough for the other cookies.

We made snowballs with coconut.

http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f244/iloveletters/Taru/P1000424.jpg

http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f244/iloveletters/Taru/P1000425.jpg

And some of the other doughs had to go into the freezer for some time....

http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f244/iloveletters/Taru/P1000429.jpg

before we cut the cookies.

http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f244/iloveletters/Taru/P1000437.jpg

On top we put cut dates.

http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f244/iloveletters/Taru/P1000436.jpg

We took out the Stollen after about 30 minutes. Mh, what a great smell.

http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f244/iloveletters/Taru/P1000432.jpg

And the date cockies go into the oven.

http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f244/iloveletters/Taru/P1000440.jpg

The final result:

http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f244/iloveletters/Taru/P1000444.jpg

There were also chocolate cookies ....

http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f244/iloveletters/Taru/P1000446.jpg

and forgotten cookies. They are called like that because you put
them into the oven turn it off and leave them inside overnight.

http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f244/iloveletters/Taru/P1000448.jpg

Puh, what a lot of work. But after 4 hours it's done!

http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f244/iloveletters/Taru/P1000450.jpg

When we woke up this morning it was a surprise: There was snow for the first time this year. Ok, not that much but still. I  don't think it will last long since it is not too cold outside.

http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f244/iloveletters/Taru/P1000600.jpg

And now it is time to say Goodbye.

I am travelling to my next host in Germany today.

Weilburg, Germany - 7th December 2011

By: Noisy

Hey!

After a short time I reached Noisy's home.

I was welcomed by some nice guys.
The first who watched into my envelope was a very excited little dragon called Leopold. He was very sad when I came out of the envelope. I think he is waiting for a special TV coming soon...
The others told me later he's in love  ;)

The others are Tiplitaps, the turtle, Boofle, the dog and Horror-Potamus, the fabulous hippo. They all want to travel but have to wait for their IDs.
Than there were two newbies, they arrived today as gifts for Noisy because of christmas.

We sat a loong time together and talked a lot. Boofle, H.Potamus and Tiplitaps told about the life on the farm, the newbies about their short experience of travel, and I told of all the great adventures I have had since I'm a travelling ToyVoyager.
Only Leopold was sitting in the edge and was sooooo sad... :(

Now I'm very tired and go to bed.
Tomorrow I send you more News.

Good night and sleep well.

Taru
