Greektown, Detroit, MI, United States - 6th November 2011

By: MsMarvel

Today I went with Amy (my host) to Greektown!! It's a really cool area in downtown Detroit where there are a few blocks of Greek restaurants, stores and bakeries!!  I took a really cool photo with the GM Building (General Motors Headquarters) and St. Mary's Church in the background!! I also took a photo where we parked!! At Greektown Hotel & Casino!!! There wasn't a Detroit Lions football game on that night but I was absolutely stoked to take a photo with the cool poster! I have Detroit Lions Spirit!!! :)  Shotz bar is such a cool bar in the outskirts of Greektown named for the Detroit Red Wings! I love love love hockey now!!

We got to eat an amazing dinner at Pegasus Taverna!! It's tradition Greek food!  We got Opa!!! Which is flaming cheese!! I was so rich and yummy!!  I also had a delicious Greek Salad and Vegetarian Pastitsio!

After an amazing dinner we went across the street to Astoria Bakery!! I wanted one of everything!!! Especially a Brownie!!! After all they're named after me! :)  But! I was too full to even eat one!

It was an amazing day! I got to see so many cool things in downtown Detroit!!!

Chicago, IL, United States of America - 16th March 2012

By: MsMarvel

Today we drove from Lansing, Michigan to Chicago, IL.  It was about a 4 hour drive.   But it was a fun ride nonetheless.

We had to pay a few tolls on the way.  The toll photos are from Indiana, except for this one for the Chicago Skyway!

Driving into Chicago was a lot of fun!! We passed U.S. Cellular Field where the Chicago White Sox play baseball.

And we got to see beautiful views of the city!

We passed Navy Pier where the have a cool boardwalk and Ferris wheel!! We didn't get to go this time though.  :(  But maybe next time!

We stayed by Loyola University in Northern Chicago.  It was a really nice area.  Cool apartments and houses.  It was about a 20 min train ride into downtown.

It was so cool being in Chicago for St. Patricks day! They did a lot to celebrate!!! They turned the river green, but unfortunately I didn't get to get any photos with it or the parade!  there were lots and lots and lots of people everywhere and everyone was wearing green! People were even drinking first thing in the morning!
http://i1146.photobucket.com/albums/o525/RubyHeart7/Brownie%20Bear/3.jpg

I even got to see "The Bean" at Millenium Park! It was so cool!
http://i1146.photobucket.com/albums/o525/RubyHeart7/Brownie%20Bear/7.jpg

We went to this AMAZING restaurant for lunch called "Giordano's".  It's famous for its Chicago style stuffed (deepdish) pizza.  It was sooo yummy! We got just cheese since my host is a vegetarian!! I can't wait to have it again!
